@@jkayparker999 No he is not. She was a journalist. He was an MC. BLIND LEADING THE BLIND leads to spreading stupidity AND ignorance, moron.
@@ronrossmore211 shut the hell up
A black show, ran by black people for black people but everyone watched it black and white.

REMEMBERING DONALD "DON" CORNELIUS (SEPTEMBER 27, 1936 - FEBRUARY 1, 2012) [06/27/2017]
SOOOOOOOOOUL TRAIN!
My wife informed me last night in bed as we were about to go to sleep. I was so disturbed I couldn't go to sleep. I really looked up to this man, being the 1st Black person to own his own show of this type and make us feel as Black people that we could be Black & proud & see our people stars & regular young people portrayed in a positive light. He didn't let disrespectful music on stage either and made me feel good to young, Black and alive! He will be terribly missed. God bless his family!
I was your 25th like on today, 8/1/2024 at 6:13 a.m.🤗☺️🥹
I share your sentiment. He made us proud to be Afro-Americans.
I remember coming home from school to watch Soul Train... his voice is legendary.
School?? It was on Saturdays at 11:00 am.
They should air AMERICAN BANDSTAND and SOUL TRAIN on MeTV every Saturday.
I agree!!! I'll love to see both shows on TV.
Mostly soul train
Fuck American band stand
money $$$$ thats why you'll never see both well bounce and centric did have soul train repeats and vh1 did have the best of ab in the 1990's compressed to a half hour but theres plenty of clips on you tube from both give or take
Soul Train.
Just randomly thinking of Don Cornelius. He had a huge musical influence on me as a small kid. Soul Train provided me with an escape and Don was the alchemist. Safe travels brother.
RIGHT ON ✊🏽
Saturday's... Fat Albert and Cosby Kids and later in day... Soul 📺 Train
when he talks it makes you want a chocolate brownie
Lol. You made me laugh
Lmao I know right😂
my band teacher used to look and talk like don cornelious lmfao
Brother Don Cornelius, you were undoubtedly Mister Soul Train.Don brought us together not only enjoy ourselves, but makes us feel so good about ourselves. Thanks for the memories, Don, RIP.
All those beautiful black folk, so appreciative to have lived during this era in history...Saturday morning cartoons, Fat Albert, then Soul Train at noon. Thanks for this walk down memory lane.
I made a video talking about this... I just wish people wouldn't be so quick to give up on life so much to the point that they'd commit suicide. It's sad. =/
He didn't. He had something similar to aneurysm. Facts...
What Ed Sullivan did for rock and roll, Don Cornelius did for Motown funk!!!!
Great video. Don will always be a giant personality for eternity.
Brother was silky smooth
Thank you Mr. Cornelius for making the Funk even Funkier, the Groove even Groovier and for teaching us how to really throw a down-home dance party. I can't imagine how lame American life would be without Soul Train. Big up's my brotha. RIP (and Sooooooooooooul)
Peace, Love, and Soul
Best host at all time
Love, peace and soul!
RIP Don Cornelius. Mr. Cool, Mr. Smooth, Mr. Soul Train!
I'm from England and I'll never forget when my father returned from the U.S. he bought with him a Soul Train album. I was a kid and that was my introduction to 'soul' music. I had no idea who Marvin Gaye or Barry White or Brenda and the Tabulations were until I listened to that album (over and over). I eventually moved to the U.S. and Soul Train became part of my Saturday routine. Some of the better memories of my youth.
Rest in "love, peace, and soul" Don.
Long before my parents even thought Of having me lol black dynamite brought me here
Forever the King of Soul. Your soul is free Don. Thanks for all!!
May your soul rest in love and peace Don
What's up Marvin Gaye

A Legend
Soul Train channel in RUclips was one of my first favorited since I discover this network...I'm from México, soul & funk fans here never had the chance to see original footage from this amazing show. RIP Don & hopefully we can remember him with tons of new YT videos of Soul Train legacy...
I have never believed a person needed to apologize for their race. Don Cornelius didn't care what colour you were. We are all people who love funk and that is all. Love to Don's family and friends. He will be greatly missed. He was part of my teen years. :(
Idk if it's about apologizing, it's about respecting that some races struggles in America are a bit more gritty. Like, respect goes a long way. Understanding what pressure this music was built under is a part of the culture and soul is black culture.

rest in Peace don you always be people heart
We are going to miss you brother! Peace, Love and SOUL. You had plenty of it. R.I.P.
@ElvisLivesUpstairs I know that, but still, when someone reaches that point in their life and lives their dream, logically, one would assume that he was set for life, I mean the guy had fans, friends, and lots of family I'm sure. I just wish he would've put some deep thought into it first before doing anything.
He was in a lot of pain from seizures that occurred after a surgery he had in the 80s. He literally said he couldn't take anymore.
@@MrKeepnit100 his health problems started around mid to late 1970’d he was having severe headaches that it made him yell at people he would lash out at people
I. Dont. Understand what you guys are saying don hd plently of money
He wasn't broke he had and operation brain abd he even said he was never the same he married the wrong women after his friends told him don't married her
@@tyliekinc. yes he had a operation and said in the statement he was never the same but he kept it moving
RIP great master and hero of soul! We will love you forever!

Don Cornelius,R.I.P. O soul music nunca mais será o mesmo, você está fazendo muita falta.
Man I miss that show. One of the most important parts of my growing up in the 70's. Will never forget him or his creation! R.I.P Mr Cornelius, sorry you had to suffer the pain.
@sassydiva1231 Keep in mind he had Dementia / Alzheimer's Disease. A former Father-in-law has it, and makes people do things.
Tragic and which is why he shot himself. Sad
Old skool memories, love you Mr don cornelius for what you brought to back houses, Rest in peace Mr Don Cornelius.
I'm so sad..I've had goosebumps watching this video..and I'm a 20 years old italian guy who totally loves soul music..just to show what an impact that kind of music had and has on my life and how people like Don helped me discovering it. I wish I could have been there..You'll always be remembered brother..You gave such a strong help to the African American Culture with your legendary Soul Train.. You were a truly pioneer!!! You'll always live in your famous line: "We wish LOVE, PEACE AND SOUL!"
For a man who always preached Black is beautiful, can't figure why he married a white woman.
black dynamite brought me here =)
He was so comical 🤣
WOW! I'm still so saddened by the recent passing of Mr. Don Corenelius. Sending my condolences, prayers and sympathy to his family, friends, coworkers, the soul train family and fans worlwide. I have the best memories ever from my childhood. My brother and I couldn't wait until Saturday to watch " Soul Train " and would dance and sing to all the songs and smile with joy to see our favorite artist brace the " Soul Train " stage. You will be missed much. Love, Peace and SOOOUUULLL! R.I.P., Don!
Wow... What Don did for our culture! This is a HUGE loss! Every Saturday he came into our home, heart and soul, bringing the funk that made us just get up and boogie! Much, love, respect and admiration! Don was one-of-a-kind! RIP
Soul Train was a Saturday morning fixture. Like American Bandstand was. RIP Don Cornelius. RIP Dick Clark.
black people we got to find our froove again!
RIP BROTHER, Thank u so much for all these great times
PEACE & SOUL
The Migos just paid tribute to the Don, I’m sure we would’ve loved it and I’m sure he’s smiling from above.
R.I.P Don. We lost the last legend in the sound of young black america
Thanks for posting in memory of a Great American, we will miss Don Corrnelius . I was hoping to see him again on Soul Train this fall . He provided a great venue & exposure of Soul Music & culture to the American music experience . I was very saddened to learn of his passing Feb 1st I love to watch the videos of Soul Train. Soul Train provided much exposure of Soul Music & culture to America & we are grateful to him for that, he was also a Marine who served in Korea, RIP Semper Fi , Don !
saturdays will never ever be the same.cant believe he's gone man :(
RIP. The true Don.
May he continue to rest peacefully and keep this train rocking in his memory ❤️🙏
Were Watching a movie on The Bounce Network Breaking 1&2. The main dancer is Shabba-Doo a Soul Train Dancer from The Lockers...
So, I'm telling my cousin(39) that he is a Soul Train Dancer form the Infamous Lockers..I also told him Soul Train made a lot of Actors, Model,Choregraphers, He thinks Lou-ski was the only famous one.. I teach these's young'ens the real Soul Train Deal....
Don was just too smooth. LOL
Years of music dancing enjoyment hardly missed the Sooooooooul Traaaaaain!! Thank You Don C.!!! Love Peace and Soul!
Don will never be forgotten. The 1970's were very influential times for blacks in America. Soul Train represented all that was good and unique to our people. It showed the world that we were capable of becoming united, stay on one accord, and party our asses off! RIP Don and thank you for all you've done to show the world who we are and what we're capable of!
R.I.P. Don Cornelius. You will be missed! Love, Peace and Soul
Let me just add, " I use to love hearing him say, " It's gone be a stone cold gas." lol He had the smoothest voice ever. Everywhere you look you will always see a " soul train line " at a reunion, wedding or party because Soul Train was the first to bring it to us. My favorite part of the show was watching people go down the soul train line. You couldn't wait to see the lil soul train just chuggin' along to good beats and music. We've lost a trailblazer and it will never be another D.Corenelius.
I love hearing Don Cornelius say you can bet your last money it's gonna be a stone gas honey before soul train goes off myself
RIP Don. Thanks for the great contribution you made to music, television and culture at large.
I wish i was born in this era
Id have a husband and a big afro
R.I.P. Don
The epitome of "cool". Wish I had his voice.
RIP from London. Respect due.
Don and Marvin together in one spot?? That is more smooth than 50 cartons of Kool
May the Train soulfully Jam across heavens R.I.P. DC
sad movie..Dom couldn't have both but the one thing he needed was tearing him apart..His wife..it just shows you all the fame.money..won't concert love.
he needed his wife
What a Blessing for those of us who had the privilege to watch this every Saturday Morning.. True icon May His soul be at Peace. ❤ Don Cornelius
Wow, Rest In Peace Mr.Cornelius, Much love from a fan all the way from Miami! You are truly missed brother.
R.I.P. BROTHA DON,REST IN PEACE.
I love being black 🖤
Now THAT was entertainment. There is NOTHING on TV today that even compares to what this show did back then. My reason for saying so? Check-out Stevie Wonder has he ad libs on the piano. Now show me a modern TV show featuring musicians and I will show you a bunch of lip-sincing drones with no real talent. Maybe after they record 22 tracks in the studio and some digital genius splices them together, it becomes music. But that's not what SOUL TRAIN was doing in the 70s.
Saturday's... Fat Albert and Cosby Kids and later in day... Soul 📺 Train
Continue to rest in power Don Cornelius
Cant look at him the same again after what he did to those play boy bunnies woman, just evil
as a white male growing up in central virginia in the 70's..i loved soul train each and every saturday. i was saddened to hear that don cornelius passed away recently. here's to a time when black music was tremendous and not the shit that it is today (not all of it, but most of it). rest in peace don. you are missed by me and many other's. and thanx for enhancing my life with "soul train".
Did Mr Don Cornelius have any relation or family tides with Cornelius Brothers ?
I grew up listening to Soul Train even out here in Switzerland !
It's such a great loss !
Thank you Cornelius for having given the chance to so many wonderful artist to share their music !

Okay, it just hit me but omfg if SNL did a Soul Train bit? I'm thinking Kenan Thompson would make a great Don Cornelius =D
