It is nice to have flying cars.It would be good to have cars that can drive on land,in the air,and also submerge in the water(This would be the perfect car).I am an Engineer.
If you mean mass use private car/plane that can take off and land on highways and not follow strict pre designated flightpaths avoiding built up areas, with no night flights, and pre flight safety checks... ..It will never happen. Less convenient than owning a car and a private jet.

Battery powered anything today has big problems with shorting out and or over-heating or whatever from E-Bike's to Tesla's. # 4. Anything that takes the Fire Department four hours to put out a Tesla battery fire is really scary. The E-Planes will have much bigger batteries to achieve longer flights huh?
