I think if you’d run them with a little more pressure the center section of your Michelin tires would be uniform with edges. This is exactly what happens when the tire pressure isn’t quite high enough
What's a good pressure for that?
@@TwoTimesRmedia it’s been a while ago since I watched it but if I remember correctly he was running them a little lower than the recommended amount. If it was me I’d run them a tad over for a bit
@@cryptocrunchies2478 I greatly appreciate your response. I'm looking to get these this week and I'm hoping to maximize my use. The last set of tires I had didn't last over 30k miles. Feels like I just bought them now I'm looking for new tires.
@@TwoTimesRmedia40psi for Me
The weather has a lot of effect
I'm glad to see that truck is still running strong. You've done some repairs but for the mileage and working all the time it's doing great.
I find your video's informative even if I never need the knowledge it's good to have.
Thank you, I appriciate that. I think it has done me pretty good
These vids are much appreciated
Thank you, comments like this keep me making more! You guys are appreciated. Blows my mind almost 4k subscribers and growing... when i think about it i an speechless. Thank you!
We had the same set on our gas powered work truck and they did the same thing. However they only lasted about 45k so there is a huge difference between all highway and how we drive.
I run these Michelin's on my 2017 GMC 2500HD rig too. I had BF Goodrich tires and they wore out at about 47,000 miles. I do like the way these Michelins run so much quieter. I was up in Alaska Last month and Purchased a set of almost new Firestone Studded winter tires for icy conditions when driving south.
I think me being on the interstate helps with my higher milage. The michelins were definitely quieter
C farmer has great over the road experience. Sad when he sold his big truck. But he is a over the road. shit brakes and fix it. All in respect he shows you can do it. God bless. Keep it up brother this my edit I look for his pickup as I roll. Chers brothers be safe get home safely.
Thank you, i appriciate it
That's a neat little tester. Great idea for a video.
Thank you!
I had the Michelin ltx at2 and they were awsome great ride quiet and all the grip you ever wanted , changed them at 90,000, my size was on back order so I had to get a different tire , 275-60/r20 . Hopefully the ms2 I bought will be close to as good .
I suprised open shoulder for highway application. I know there will be grippers that say. It’s the ride and one’s application.
I discovered you last week when my 2017 GMC Sierra 2500hd suddenly went into limp mode from a bad connection on my #4 fuel injector. I drove about 10 miles to a diesel repair shop in Redding, CA. They installed the new connector in about 2 hours and I was hapily on my way. Because of your videos I will be carrying a AC Delco fuel injector pig tail in my emergency repair kit for next time.
I am in Reno and have 2 with me . After a many a I've replaced for myself and other ppl i don't leave home without one
@@CFarmer does the same connector fit all. Or do you need to order different ones for each injector. Thanks i
The pig tails on all the injector connections are the same. Make sure you carry a few quality marine grade wire crimp or solder wire connectors.
@@daleposey450 thanks a lot
Same connector fits all and wires aren't polarity sensitive. Either wire to either wire
The cupping was due to not enough tire pressure not the tire fault
love your videos on roadside repair. you say your not a mechanic, but the work you do says you are:) certified or not. would like to see a video on the tools you carry to do all the injector/wiring repairs?? just ordered my 3500 crewcab duramax. will need to keep some injector plugs and maybe an injector with me. have done video on when the repairs started?
Thank you! I did a 300k mile review video. I tell all repairs and at what milage i had to do them.

Just bought a set of Defenders for my Ram 1500, coming from the upgraded OEM Good Year AT Kevlars which lasted 65,000 miles. Looking for longer life and a better ride, as I'm not off-road a whole lot. No sense in getting ATs when you only benefit from them 5% of the time, when the Defenders will be fine in a pinch. I think I can easily get 90-100,000 on these with my little 1/2 ton.
I’ve had really good luck with defenders. They do pretty good on ice, but that’s about it. I’ve never had problems with the outside edge wearing, but I keep mine aired up pretty high.
I really wished i would've ran 80psi all way around
currently running some similar ones on my EV. I was a little bit worried coz i raised the pressure a bit to get better range but this video reassured me. they were not new when i got the ev a year ago and i proceeded to put 30k miles on my ev and the tread is still knee deep. crazy. feel like these are the answer to everyone complaining about EV's and tire wear. theyre like the iridiums of tires. expensive, meh performance, but last forever. might stuff some ceramic wool blanket in my front wheel arches, crank the music and forget about them
Great review
Thank ya sir. See ya tomorrow
Great video, I need to just buy your take offs and run them slick out here in the country, lol 😆
Thank you! If they'll fit I've got 2 sets of take offs
Thanks for the video. I have Cooper AT3 265/65R18 they are loud on the road on a 2018 Chevy Silverado Z71 this is a low mile truck under warranty. These tires are brand new 500 miles on them. The dealership put them on. Each truck I've owned had all season tires quiet easy ride. My two cars have all season tires quiet and comfortable. Work 5 days a week and have a part time job. I do not want to hear the roar of tires while driving. Called the dealership the shop mechanic told me to either bring it looked at it is most likely all terrains. I've owned this truck for 2 weeks paid half cash financed the rest. It was serviced same day I bought it. So, it's not alignment heck you can let go of the steering wheel and it drives straight until I say that's enough this isn't a tesla. Absolutely no road vibration. Handles the road great. 1 owner truck it is a very nice truck in my opinion. Just those fucking tires. The roar to me is so upsetting I drove it today 155 miles. Starts about 20 gets louder by 60 you're like omfg when you're going 75-80 it's a little better but still loud cranked the radio halfway up could still hear the roaring. The radio does drown out the noise until you change the station. I was very tempted to drive the truck on the way home to the dealership to have them look at it if they won't fix it at that point in time, I would have said how do I get out of this deal I cannot stand this noise. Very sad I enjoy everything about this truck except the road noise. I am one of those that focuses concentrates on the road watches all surroundings in that process I'm zoned out thinking over world problems life problems figuring out my whole plans and schedules. Very cautious alert driver that signals uses seatbelts don't speed just set the cruise and ride. Some road noise is fine I'm use to that, All the vehicles I own and driven do have some road noise from different surfaces on the roads but this noise in my opinion is not drivable. When I got out of my truck, I was so aggravated in a bad head space where I do not want to be. I had to just set down chillout and think about it. Told myself okay that's it you will not drive that truck again until it's taken to the dealership to get checked over have them put a new set of all season tires on or you will drive it to a tire shop. So, I hopped in my dodge caravan drove to town 20 miles to the grocery store no road noise by the time I got 2 miles away was in a good head space because it's a peaceful easy drive when your tires aren't humming and roaring on the road. Now I'm researching tires.
That’s incredible
Thank you for the video
Thank you for your comment!
The KO2's look so much better but everywhere I read say the Defenders are a smoother ride, better for road, and will last longer. Glad I found your video.
The defenders might have done better if i would have ran 80psi all around. I was happy with the ride from both tires. I think that mostly interstate miles is where my higher milage comes from. I hope you have great luck with which ever tire you go with
@@CFarmer Just got back from Discount Tires, ended up getting the KO2's. They look amazing.
I love the looks of them. I hope they do you a great job
I ran a set of Falkin Wildpeak AT3W on a 2500hd work truck and they have 105,000 miles on them. They are actually still on the truck but it isn’t being used right now.
I was just looking at those earlier today. Good looking tire
Hi handsome, great tire reviews. Ko2.
Look at that though almost 500,000 on a chevy that's right, good review
I'm running those same tires in 275/70/18 on my F250. I was going to struggle between those and the KO2s because of the success you and Mr. Tennessee have had with them. Of course the way things work nowadays the Michelins were the only of the two available so my choice was easy. At 37k miles they still look new and are wearing evenly. I love the ride but I'm comparing to the Goodyear Wranglers that came on it and they were awful.
I have 44k on my original wranglers and just about down to the wear marks. Looking for new tires and been looking at the Defenders. I pull a 30 ft travel trailer. Any recommendations welcome. Thx
@@johndernberger1961 I love the defenders so far. I know lots of transporters love all terrain tires and after this winter I may agree, we'll see.
The michelins were good. My truck says 75psi in rear and 65psi in front. Tire says 80psi. Caint help but wonder if 80psi all around would've helped them wear the center down same with sides. No cupping, no feathering
Last winter i was pulling guys out of snow and mud with the defenders on. They did pretty dang good for no more aggressive than they were
I liked the defenders and i think they'd do you good. I've only had those and bfg so i may not be a lot of help. I would run either of those
on my second pair of michelin defenders 115000 miles and mine wear on the side too may try the bfg or the wrangler dura traks next
115k is pretty dang good
I would suspect low tire pressure or alignment/tow-in for that type of wear.
How heavy are the rigs you pull?
Looks like your front end needs alignment. Outer part of front tire is worn more than inside. Or use to be the inside....🤔
Good video bud. Man I just changed out a set of Hancooks that had wore about identical to what yours did. The outside edges were down to the indicators and still plenty tread across the middle. I’m trying out a set of firestones now so far not impressed. I guess time will tail. Stay safe my friend
Yes sir. You too. Headed east across 80 if you're headed out this way
@@CFarmer Iv actually took off this week. We got our camper at Pigeon Forge til Monday morning. Prob head back to Indiana Tuesday
That sounds like a good time. Hope you're enjoying you're time off
@@CFarmer thanks bud. Duramax not acting right. It’s throwing a PO2CD & PO2CF which what I’ve found is sorta a generic code. Injector function all look to be in range I think might be an ECM issue. Those codes just say either cylinder 1 or 2 injector learning at mass capacity. Taking it to my diesel man Tuesday morning. You ever seen those codes?
I've not ran across those codes yet. Let me know what he says. I'm curious
I just remembered this video a while ago. I have 75k on my defenders and I'm having the same wear pattern as you. I'm thinking I can get them to 85k before I'm done.
From what I'm hearing it's pretty normal for these
How many pounds of pressure are you running? You can't blame the tires for wearing faster on the outsides if you're not putting enough air in them. I'm just say'n....
I wonder if you needed to up the tire pressure just a bit? I know if you’re overinflated it’ll wear the center.
I thought about that but by the time i noticed it i felt like it was too late. Makes sense though
@@CFarmer hi should he call Michelin and ask there r&d team , why the outside of the tires are worn out and the center is like new.
Alignment/suspension issues?
Mine have the same wear on my 2017 Titan xd. I rotate routinely. So must be normal 🤷🏻♂️
I've heard that from a few ppl. I'm thinking so too. If i had it to do over i would've ran 80psi all around
Michelin are the best..rotate and alignment every 6 months. It’s a truck…they love tires and gas. 👍
I had a 2008 GMC sierra that I put the KO2’s on and I noticed I lost a mile or two per gallon. Purchased a 19 Silverado and I just put a set of Michelin‘s on 34,000 miles ago. Would you be willing to keep an eye on your fuel economy and let me know if you see a difference? I’m like you I would rather have the BFG‘s. Thank you.
I just got back from California. Seems like we were in head wind both ways but it was still getting about the same. For the overall trip back i averaged 19.2. Ran 75-80 all way back. I don't usually run that hard on the way back. I'll check it again on the next trip. Running that speed in the wind i felt it was about the same
Good video… besides mileage, how do you feel the Michelin’s did on gas mileage? I’ve got a Ram 3500 SRW…towing my 5th wheel (15K), I use to get 12.4 MPG over the duration of a trip out and back (with cruise set at 65), with the Michelins, I find I get only 10.4. How was your gas mileage with the defenders compared to your other tires. Thanks
Going from the BFG to the Michelin I didn't notice much difference. I had thought i would see an increase but at least it wasn't a decrease
Yeah…got home, the entire trip my MPG was 10.2…last year 12.4. 🤷♂️
Had those same tires on my f350 dully. They wore same as yours though i had some issue suspension or balence wise. Everything checked out ok so no clue why they wore how they did.
Me either, it was a pretty big difference
Same here Titan xd. I run 70 psi all 4
I can’t keep them balanced… running them on a 2013 Mercedes GL350. Have the same wear pattern and have had at least 3 different companies (including the dealer) check the alignment with no issues at each check…. Not sure where to turn for this problem. I spend +80% time on the interstate. Vehicle is 6k lbs with me and my gear.
thanks for taking the time to share this information.
Yea the michelin are good but the price is getting out of CONTROL. on my last set
Way over inflated which also explains the issue with ride quality
Tire pressure must be wayyyyy too low
What kind of fuel treatment do you use? And how often? Thanks
I didn't use anything until 200k then i started using hot shots secrets (enough to treat 100 gallons) in every other tank then every 4th time to treat no hotshot secrets but small bottle of lucas dpf cleaner. Hot shot secret 3 times every other fill up then lucas dpf then back to hot shot secrets edt
What pressure you run?
Hey Justin. I've been running 65psi in front and 75psi in rear but have been thinking of running 80psi on all 4 and see if it would wear centers down a little faster than sides
Are you running stock or deleted ?
All stock. Original DPF and all
Nothing wrong with the tires. You have a suspension issue.
Hey c farmer this is Timothy hey I'm heading back and I I'm on highway 25 going to be on highway 80 if you want to meet up?
Email me at cfarmeronyt@gmail.com
And I'll give you my #. Maby that'll make it easier to meet up. I'm at the Iowa 80 truck stop this morning
@@CFarmer ok I m home now after a 19 hours drive
I bought Michelin defenders for my highlander and only got 30000 miles.this is with religious air filling taking in every 4000 miles and rotation and balancing. I'm not satisfied with Michelin at all for this !
I have a set of Michelins on my car now that I hate. Worse tires I have had on it yet.
I believe Michelin are becoming overrated! They used to be a great tire! I have a premier ltx 60,000 mile tire with only 30,000 and they are wore out. Thinking about replacing them with a Continental!
I agree. These were ok but not really what I'd hoped for. I have michelins on my corvette and I'm certain that's my last set on it. Noisy, wearing poorly and a lot less traction than the tires i had before them... which were also michelins. Price going up and quality going down
Be careful with Conti’s. The cross-contacts I had were warrantied twice due to being out of round. I was able to be in the back when they were balanced and the out of roundness could be seen of the balancing machine. Several were so bad me & the tech laughed. I took the rims to a reputable rim shop & the rims were all within .002 of being dead nuts straight & true. Car is a Mercedes GL350.
Michelin owns BFG so you're pretty much getting the same thing.
On a ram 3500 hotshot pick up I will get 60,000 because of the exhaust brake
Hotshot,i bet you have a lot more loaded miles than me too.
@@CFarmer NO, Dodges/Rams are just hard on tires. Trust me, front ends are junk! Has nothing to do with an exhaust brake, LOL!
Love your videos!!!
Thank you!
BfG is owned by Michelin
Yes sir
First!! Hello sir!!
Hey DuraMaxFanatic. Hope you're doing good
@C Farmer ..doing good here..hope you have been doing good as well sir!! thank you for taking the time making these videos for us. Super appreciate you!! That is awesome that you got 106,000 miles on a set of tires.
I'm still shocked about that too. Thank you for all of your comments. It means a lot!
@C Farmer I wanted to tell you that I was messing with my CTS3 monitor, and I can monitor the injector misfires! I think you will really like having one. And I think you will really like that EPC Fooler sir.
That's awesome! I like cts3 so far and i still haven't got to look into epc fooler. I'm going to try to look into it when i get home
