Drove 5-6 hours from Cleveland, so fucking worth it. Pitted hard af and stage dove more than my 30 year old body could handle. That was my buddy who got knocked out during Gridiron. We were at the hospital the rest of the day and next. Hes doing better but it'll be a decently long road to recovery. He had a traumatic brain injury, bleeding in the brain and a concussion. Official diagnosis was a Subarachnoid Hemorrhage. Hes making slow progress and head pain is still a 7 out of 10 as of today. Forming better sentences and holding more conversation now. Appreciate everyone who helped check on him and move him initially. Hardcore for life. Can't wait for next year.
Thoughts and prayers goin out to our fallen coreman 🙏 may he endure a speedy and full recovery so he can get his get back next time! Keep us posted on how he doin that was a nasty one🙏💯
First time I ever saw AF live they opened for Obituary and Cannibal Corpse in 92. I think it was called the hangmans ball. Its what started my hardcore journey.
I’m extremely excited to see Hatebreed, Harms Way (AND Carcass AND Crypta) for the first time this fall in Vancouver, but I’m extra interested to see the ensuing war between the hardcore kids and the metal guys that will be in attendance at that show
@@BeagleThirteen That’s most definitely the team I’m on, nothing against metal show pits because they’re fun too, but if I have to push pit to Hatebreed and Harms Way I’m gonna lose my shit
@@jbasti227 Crypta is awesome, definitely on the death metal side (I don’t think they have any connection to hardcore) but they’re really damn good and I’m very excited to see them
Speaking on the very last topic of the pod, I can definitely say the LDB twitch streams or even the hard lore recaps make me want to travel and not miss these regional events, as opposed to just hitting my local fest (Sound &Fury). Hopefully LDB or FYA 2025! Great episode as always, glad to see Colin Feeney make it on the show.
The same thing as That gridiron knockout happened at a show a few months ago while an opener was playing and they stopped the song during the heaviest part of the whole set, asked if everyone was ok, commented on how much blood there was and gave the guy a hydroflask to take a sip of water center stage. It was not very cool
Going back into the pit the day after you’ve had a seizure from a head injury sustained in the pit is just unbelievably stupid. I don’t think you should be encouraging something so reckless
