Thanks Mike, your way of explaning concepts about revit is simply superb. Never saw a video with this simple explanation but effective at the same time. Kudos 👍
That was explained very well. Only thing to add is that the reason behind all this is that you would only see your own folder as the admin will not let you see the WIP folders of the other consultants. That way, all you'll see is your own folder, your own consumed folder and your own shared folder. Everything else will be hidden. Thanks for the video.
Great explanation, yet if it was not yet confusing let me ask you this : you mentioned when sync'd it will update the file in bim360, yet when you click that file in your browser (not revit) and explore it in your browser it wont be updated. only until you publish it !! so obviously the sync'd files are not the same file you pointed at when you mentioned hit sync.. is there a 4th location then ??
Hey Mike, great explanation. Question though, How do you set published files to go into the Shared folder and packaged files to go to the consumed folders? Is it automatic or are settings involved?
at the minute 13:06 you stated that the file on the cloud (ACC) that is supposed to be the version updated by "publishing" it updates every time you synchronize? ...that doesnt sound right...could you please clarify?
So if im linking shared files into my revit it updates after publishin, if im linking original file from 02-Structure it updates with every syncronisation?
and also what does do the main model ? does the main model sum up data of preseted folder it self? or have to link files manualy? if manualy link models, why does it exist?
Also, should I be placing linked models from other consultants who are not using 360 into the consumed folder or a folder of my making for linked files?
Hi Mike Taylor. what would you do if iam arch consultant and wish to link in other consultant model into mine. Linked in from the "WIP" folder or the "consume" folder? Thanks in advance

Have been so confused about these workflows, thank you so much for clearing things up!
I agree that it's a mess.. but now we all have a quick video reference when someone asks!!!
Absolutely incredible video. I cannot wait to see what else you've explained. I love your energy and style. Thank you so much.

It's automatic. They populate into those folder automatically... but you have to using Design Collaboration and not just Document Management.

sir could you also sum up folder structure map related to sync, publish, package? and their rule under cloud server . .

In a folder of your making... you can call it CONSULTANTS MODELS.
When can we view on the design collaborate sheets
