Super stoked to see Black Rebel again. Reaper is my absolute favorite from them. FYI, their 8 year anniversary sale started 7 hours before this video dropped.
I can't wait to try their products! I have quite a shelf of products for a beginner, so it may take a bit, but I am hearing a lot of nice stuff and recommendations for Black Rebel Beard Co.
I absolutely love Black Rebel products. I've been exploring more companies since I've found your channel and really began to know what I like in an oil blend. I love the feeling I get from ostrich and emu blends. There are probably 5 companies that I consider top tier and Black Rebel is definitely one of them. Between the way their products work for me, the uniqueness of their scents, their fast (and free) shipping, the artwork and the stickers, and even interactions I've had with Pedro, Black Rebel will always be in my rotation. And just a note on the price. individual oils are expensive but if you get oil/butter combos, or oil/butter/cologne trios, or even the full kit with the wash and conditioner, it becomes pretty competitive with other large companies who offer similar bundles. And those companies don't get hate for costs being too high. It's just the sticker shock of $30/oil that scares some people away. There are certainly less expensive options out there that make fantastic products as well, but I don't think these guys are crazy expensive either. This comment got longer than I planned. Thanks for your review Dan and Sam! I think I'm going to pick up a Rambler with my next order because of your thoughts on it. Have a good weekend!
Sweet Sam and Dan!! My favorite company of all time. Been using them for many years now. The best oils for my beard!! 🙌🤌 Mustache wax is a nice semi firm wax, a good hold but not too sticky New wash and conditioner are absolutely phenomenal! The bison bar is also fantastic! The Rambler is in my top 3 favorite scents of all time, it was originally released as The Kris Kristofferson (my favorite out of all of these) 💯🔥🤌 The Highboy is a fantastic woodsy cologne leather The Wild One is now the current rendition of the original “comp gold” an incredible take on tobacco vanilla ( Pedro is a master at blending tobacco ) The Roadster is a nice sweet barbershop and strong smokey oud The Freddy is a sexy scent BOMB!! A super duper sexy strong AF masculine cologne (probably the strongest scent on the main lineup) The Reaper is a super dark and complex peppery oud cologne All amazing takes on these scent Sam and Dan! Bravo! 🙌🙌💯🔥👊🤘
@@DanCBearded you should do a series on what ever happened to…. A bunch of the beard guys who led the industry when I started watching you , you just don’t hear from anymore.
love, Love, LOVE BRBC!!! Everything they do is gold. I'm using that bison soap and it's awesome too, probably love it because subconsciously it reminded me of donuts, lol. Never had anything from this company that was not absolutely BOMB!
I’ve always enjoyed BRBC. Best compliment I can give Pedro. I’ve finished entire bottles and had to reorder them. Zero have expired. Great feel in beard. Long lasting complex scents.
Been using them for about 5 years now and they've become my exclusive oil/butter brand. The scents are great and my beard takes their products well. I definitely like the switch to the tallow on their butter too. The butter was good before but I feel like the tallow leaves my beard a lot softer than the previous blend.
Love the review and love me some BRBC. They are top shelf, no doubt about it. Unique scents and fantastic ingredients. My beard has never felt as good as it does since I started using them.
Black Rebel Beard Company is one of my top 3 favorite beard care companies. Very strong scents, smells great, like ostrich oil in my beard and the Company is here in Texas. Really unique scents. Never tried beef tallow in my beard, so I was very interested in hearing your thoughts about beef tallow in beards.
In my top 3 of favorite companies. Their scents are amazing, unique and strong/long lasting. The butter does have some styling to it, which I like. Nice video Dan and Sam!
Have heard great reviews ever since i got into beard care products but have always looked at prices and said to myself ahhh maybe later but never knew shipping was free so will definitely be giving them a try! Once again have heard Nothing but good things about Black Rebel!
Just started using Black Rebel oils at the beginning of this Summer. BRBC definitely has some of the best scents in the game. Their beard oil feels great in beard especially after a stripping wash. Looking forward to trying their butters, wash, and conditioner in the future.
BRBC is a top 3 for me! Great review as always! Pedro does an amazing job on these scents. They smell one way in the bottle and a different way in the beard 🔥 🔥 🤘
Tallow is popping up all over the place around my part of the world too. It's in local soaps, cosmetics and skin care, local restaurants are now adding it into their menu descriptions when they use it in the dish. We have a local Angus farm that sells tallow, and I think I saw whipped tallow on their site. Looks like something worth trying I reckon.
Sam had known way more about it than I did, because I guess it’s the hottest ingredient in the women’s cosmetics industry. That means… it’s heading to beards!
Great review!!! Not sure if the carrier is for me, at least not there yet. With that the scents sounds amazingly fantastic and love the long lasting. Sam’s nose never lies! Love seeing a company with staying power being in business for so long💪💪💪 doing it right🍺
I had never tried The Rambler or Freddie before but after hearing Sam C I had to order some. My wife loves them as well and prefers Freddie. I really enjoy their scent profile as well. So thank you to both of you.
I just traded 2 Lux oils for 3 8-bit oild and after we chatted about beard stuff on messenger he threw in 7 samples of BRBC. They smell sooo good. Trying one tomorrow.
I use their products regularly. Oil, butter, shampoo, conditioner. Completely agree about the old formulation. It works... but it's not amazing. The oils and butters, however, can't be beat! The ostritch (and emu) oils are so close to sebum that the oil actually can't really be compared to other ones. It absorbs easily and the scent profiles are typically complex and layered. Big fan. One problem for us in Canada is the freight. I recently priced out four items for a total of about $100 and the freight to a major city here was gonna be another $60! I have to build up a substantial order to make it anywhere close to worthwhile. That means, instead of a steady rotation of product, I almost need to deplete to zero. Fortunately, I love my beard more than I love my money. I'm prepared to "take the hit" for such a premium product. 😁 Eager to try the new wash/conditioner.
One of my favorite brands. I would say in some cases the softning might actually help styling, it at least seemed to but i have one of those beards with every different hair and color type my genetics could throw at it so its natural state is very out of control, it and castor oil were first two things that ever worked reliably to tame my beard although likely for different reasons. BRBC is well worth it cant recommend them enough.
The rambler and The Lemmy are my two favorite scents by BRBC. Their oils compared to the amazon brand (viking revolution) blows it out the water. The other oils feel like watery oil compared to BRBC. Makes my beard super soft. Ive got their limited edition oil and beard butter on the way! Its called Mad Max.

Hi there Mr. Dan! Awesome review! I was wondering, Bahawat just came out with their new beard shampoo and conditioner, can you please review those? Thanks for the content!
Oh nice! I was excited to see them come out with shampoo and conditioner since I use their beard oil and beard butter…. I might just be a Bahawat guy now haha! Thanks Mr. Dan!
Black rebel is my go to! A little more expensive but Subscribe monthly and save a little. I can really tell the difference if I use another product for a couple days. Ostrich oil makes your beard so much softer and manageable!
I love Black Rebel. I did stop using them for a short time as a lot of my favorite scents I was picking up a black pepper scent. I did not like that at all. My next order will be from them again. I only use BRBC and Magic City.
I usually agree with Sam's scent profiles. Today was no different. Before I watched this video I was in a toss up of whether to try highboy or reaper. I think Im convinced to go with the reaper.
I feel like I get a better judge of the scent out of the bottle, I have smelled some that in the bottle are very pungent, but when I rub them in my hands I feel like it smooths out and I catch notes I didn't in the bottle. Thoughts ?
For sure! Sam has smelled all of these in beard, this is just a refresher. And we have done this for a long time so we get a pretty pure idea. But scents certainly do develop on skin. Just isn’t possible to apply 6 at one time lol
I just recently bought the Ramones oil, butter, wash, conditioner and cologne. The oil and butter are phenomenal! My beard has never felt better and the scent is great. That being said, the wash and conditioner are not for me. The wash is very thin and watery and doesn't lather well at all. Combined with the conditioner, they felt like they never really rinsed out completely and left my beard feeling greasy. The cologne was average. I'm willing to pay $30 for the oil and butter because they're that good, but I'll pass on the wash and conditioner next time.
Great video Dan! Love some Black Rebel oil! They are definitely the majority of my collection. The new butter isnt for me, but I dont think the tallow is my reason for not liking the new butter, pretty sure its the lanolin. Feels good going in, but 4-5 hrs later the feel just isnt there for me. One thing for sure though, some of the best, longest lasting scents Ive found in beard oil while still maintaining that great feel in beard.
My favorite scent is the wild one. I stop using it because, in the formula they use neem leaf and I use neem oil to kill insects from my plants and bottle has a cancer warning so I’m not sure if safe to use in my beard. But I have to say the beard oils I have use from Black Revel Beard are very good.
I will need to dive in more to research about neem. I have not had any problems with the oil. Here is some interesting information about neem in dermatology from a peer-reviewed scientific journal: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8906293/
You have said in the past that ostrich oil tends to make your beard super soft, so much so that you’ll only wear it at night. Is that true for this oil?
Yes, this does leave my beard really soft. I do wear the colognes during the day. My beard just does not have as much styling or control, but with BRBC it actually isn't too bad.
Tried 6 samples and i loved their scent profiles. My nose just picks up too much of that gamey bird/feather scent in every single one. If it was dialed back a little off the 75%, I'd purchase a lot more often. Their carrier blend and long lasting scents are bomb.
I'm sure you was close sometimes I'm think I'm first because it doesn't show me someone commented, then I'm seconds or a couple minutes behind. Have a great day Ken.
I do not like the way the beef tallow makes my beard feel the next morning. Even though tallow is very good for skin and hair, I feel like this butter is better suited for those who style with it.Regardless of price though, I will always keep a bottle of The Cash in my collection. I love barbershop and Cash is an amazing one!
Are these guys SUPER slow with filling orders? I placed an order the day this video dropped and they've yet to fill it. Just curious. Some of these companies are never prompt, and I'm wondering if this is one of those companies. Fine if they are, but for their steep price, you'd think they would have their game in check. I have yet to try any bird oils, and may have to consider this the wrong company to try for my first. Perhaps they got to big for their little britches!!
Oh Teacher , you can tell you do not shave. Tallow and Kaolin clay are very common and big ingredients in shave soap . I’m bald with a goatee and use both beard & shaving products . This guy knows his stuff. What I’d really like to k ow is how you compare this oil and butter with Magic City? Not scent wise either. Your opinion on performance
You are correct, I have not used a razor in a very long time. I know the wet shave community is huge and passionate. For the comparison, they both are fantastic. My beard styles a little better with Magic city though
@@DanCBearded black rebel conditioner is one of my favorites but Magic city is , imho, some of the best formulated and mixed stuff you can get. I shave my head bald , and after shaving I use there butter on my head and it’s just top notch.
Just woke up and there is a new video time to watch =))))) and i asked Dan questions about Black Rebel yesterday =)))))))))) and now its 8 years anniversary of Black Rebel so if anyone is interested they got a sales right now ordered a hat plus 3 oils =) and i have to say they got the fastest shipping it always takes 2 day get it delivered to NY
The tallow doesn’t really make a difference to me. Especially while it settles when it sits for a while. Sometimes it’s smooth, sometimes it’s grainy. Don’t mind the grainy tho. Scents fire as always, I’m not always buying it tho. $30 is kinda steep. I figured you’d like the rambler & Meg a lot. Kinda surprised at the reaction for some. 🫡🫡
heck yeah man. i hear ya. but butters are never grainy on purpose, that happens when they melt down in transit. just reset it and its back to the way it should be. thank you !
What a way to start the day ! and Sam is killing it. THanks again guys.

Not that I’m aware of. The only thing I have ever heard was with the monthly scent and not realizing when it was sent out
Great feel in beard but the scents are way to strong.
They are for sure strong!
His emu blend was better
I can respect that personal preference. Thanks for sharing

The GOLD!
@@Kensconsin Good morning bro hope you have a great day.
Agreed fully!
Not my jam, but great review!
I respect that, thanks Big Stew!
Love the timing!
heck yeah man. i hear ya. but butters are never grainy on purpose, that happens when they melt down in transit. just reset it and its back to the way it should be. thank you !
@@blackrebelbeard i don’t mind the grain. Works the same for me.
Thanks for the feedback! I always value your thoughts
@@johnnyTimothyRokket i cant stand it. lol. just for fun try it though to reset it.
@@blackrebelbeard ima pick a couple butters i got to see if it’s a difference
