    Hey Everyone! Come check out my latest Tesla Turbine updates on the 10in diameter, 75disc aluminum and plastic prototype drive turbine dyno, 3.75horsepower and 6.22ft-lbs of torque to the shaft at only 4150rpm with a 150psi room temp compressed air supply from a regular piston compressor for now. I’m gearing it UP AT 1:3.6 to dual BLDC gens with a Kv rating of 2200rpm/volt. So for every 611 RPMs on the turbine the generators output 1volt.

      @@revenevan11 me too! Now I just need to get a fluid supply that can actually provide and sustain actual power. My two generators are pushing about 3500watts to run and air compressor systems are at best 10% round trip efficient because they just dump all the heat of compression into the air. So at best, at 100% efficiency, I may be able to sustain about 350watts for any extended period of time realistically with compressed air that doesn’t recycle the heat. I’ll be working on a water tank to do just that but I’m not quite there yet. For now I will be putting a copper pipe in line, that I will heat one way or another, that the compressed air will go through before going through the turbine.basically a micro brayton cycle.
      But in due time 🙃🙃🙃

      @@CharlieSolis I'm curious how the system would manage when the motor phase wires are all short circuited together. And as far as bearings go, yeah magnetic and air/water bearings will be the way to go in the future. But that’s an easy upgrade that we can do later. That tech has long been hammered out. Especially with New away air bearings off the shelf products. At this point I’m trying to make it work under the worst conditions because it’ll only get better from there. I’m not actually sure they are rusting also, they just appear to have a little discoloring on them and I assumed that to be rust could just be the hose water.

    So the input energy is compressed air, and where would one be able to get compressed renewably? Like this is supposed to be another option for solar/hydro/wind, where the input is free, but in this case, where would the uses of this motor be?

    • @CharlieSolis
      @CharlieSolis  3 года назад +5

      These are just compressed air tests. Ultimately this turbine can be used for a myriad of motive fluids. The compressed air tests are to show how capable this turbine will be as a liquid air turboexpander, as well serves to show preliminary tests of a combustion turbine built exactly the same but out of steel where the additional power out from the additional heat can be calculated using the brayton cycle thermo equations. As well this exact turbine can be used for vacuum pressure steam cryophorus systems that run off of solar thermal collection, and as well a higher temp capable one will be able to handle a full temp pressurized steam system heated from solar. Really with the closed loop steam Rankine cycles it’s just a matter of picking a heat source.

    • @CharlieSolis
      @CharlieSolis  3 года назад +3

      hey AllboroLCD! Thanks for commenting!
      To answer your question, YES! Lol tesla had specific aspirations for the turbine to do just this. After patenting his original patent in 1911 he spent the next ten years doing R&D on using it as a Gas Turbine. And I’m 1921 he quietly patented 3-4 improvement patents for it that everyone seems to overlook. Specifically, his patent GB 186,083 is a patent for a multi fluid turbine (steam+combustion) that utilizes combustion exhaust to power the turbine and the still relatively hot exhaust coming out of the turbine is then ducted through the flame tubes of a water heater/boiler and the left over heat is used to boil steam that, once up to temp, is then administered into the turbine coaxially with the combustion exhaust to further increase the overall thermodynamic efficiency and increase the viscosity of the motive fluid. And it’s extremely efficient because any heat not used in the turbine just gets dumped into the boiler and used to make more steam as a rather brilliant 1-2-punch sort of system. Check it out here

      teslauniverse.com/nikola-tesla/patents/british-patent-186083-improved-method-and-apparatus-economic-transformation-energy-steam-turbines
