Can you trigger both at the same time & what are you using to trigger it? I wanna use it with grids but it only has 3 channels and i would need another for the open 🤦🏾♂️?
yes, there's 3 settings for the situation when both hat channels are triggered at the same time: both hats play independent / closed hat shuts open hat immediately / decay of open hat gets shortened. I use mostly sequencers and/or random sources for triggering. sometimes also a clock or the numeric repetitor.
chimera uses granular synthesis AFAIK, so the signature sound is very different. its more like a harsh percussion synthesizer, while the focus of mutant hats is the 808 sound.
personally i like big knobs and some space between for better hands-on performance, so for me the 13 HP are more a benefit than a problem! :) it always depends on what you need to fit your own workflow and style..
The External In is the most exciting thing about this module for me.
Great video thanks
thank you!
if i suddenly had like 5,000 dollars to spend i think i would get the whole set of the mutant drum voices

Which is better Mutant Hihats or WMD Chimera and why?

Fracture
@@originalfallinggirl you can make hihat sounds with Fracture??
@@stolencoats63 oh yeah. It’s fantastic
@@originalfallinggirl sweet will have to give that a go. Didn't even consider it. Any tips on getting there?
Way too much HP for that.
@@F-Ly no i cant think of any off the top of my head. However I do know of a few way smaller hp modules that get you close.
@@F-Ly there are the Hats808 by Tiptop Audio which sound very nice as well, but less features and very fiddly / tiny.
