In my experience of building and using this farm, it works only during night time and that it needs to not have a roof, I made mine with a campfire over the hopper and I am glad it’s working this way, took me only an hour or 2 to build, hopefully this comment helps anyone who’s struggling with making theirs work while following the steps from the video

If you put a dropper on the side pointing into the drop shoot, three blocks above the afk platform, you can hit a button when any drowned with a trident drop in and you'll have the chance to get a full durability trident off of them. There're ways to automate that as well, but keeping it simple for this design!

So, for all those saying this farm doesn't work...that's not quite right. it will work ok if your Simulation Distance is set to 4. Anything above that and it stops working. If you want it to work all the time even if your Sim distance is set to the max, build the AFK platform at y=193 and just build everything else above that. Also, the 3x3 dropper chute with the Turtle egg suspended in the middle of it will give better rates than the 1x1 chute. Put open trapdoors around the chute for even better rates. @BlazedMC; might be worth doing an updated version. I also found that having the leaves 15 blocks above the farm not 3 and making it one or two blocks wider makes it work better in the daytime.

I have noticed, when it is day, the number of drowned that fall are incredibly less, getting at most 6 drowned per daytime. Any way to fix such an issue ?

Is your game mode in easy? Setting the difficulty higher could help spawn rates.

As built this does not work during the day. If you replace the outside 8 rows of leaves around the roof with solid blocks it will work during the day.

If you use normal blocks, other mobs will be able to spawn on them, which will mean fewer drowned. Leaves are the go-to blocks to create shade while being unspawnable.

Are you on hard? Try reloading your game, AFKing at different places (bedrock can be buggy), and if that doesn’t work you can download my world in the description to see if something is different.

It's because the AFK platform isn't high enough for the drowned mobs to spawn on the spawning platform. Just made this farm on a server and it doesn't work properly. Instead of 103, try building at 180. Hope it helps.

With the new lighting update leaves are to see-through to work, try tinted glass; thats what i used and it works just fine or put slabs above the leaves
