I wish they used Inland Empire more, since Fender is not based in the rich beach area of California anymore....give some love to Corona, heck even Redlands. Riverside model would be cool...
Yes they could call it the Methhead series. Sickly white paint job with acne "speedbumps" as inlays in the neck. Turner could look like glass pipes. A big chunk out of the sound hole to make it look like it got kicked in during a 5 night bender. Strings that dont match..and sell them at a pawn shop, since they will end up there anyway.

Never liked Fender acoustics. The California series is a game changer. The C radius neck makes the transition from my custom shop strat to an acoustic pretty seamless. I love the clarity and attack of these guitars. Is it as good as my 1981 Hummingbird? That’s subjective. Short answer… No. But, there is a $3000.00 difference also. To be fair, the Fender is superior for recording and cutting through the mix. I would say, the California series definitely put Fender in the game. After playing one, I purchased the redondo classic this evening. I’m pretty excited about it. The one I played actually had a more familiar feel than any of my acoustics, and I’ve had them for years. This series is especially unique to electric “Lead” guitarist looking for a quality guitar with a familiar feel. This is marketed as a “beginners” guitar because of its low price. I would have to respectfully dispute that. The fact that it’s construction is outsourced does not make it lower quality, it simply makes it affordable. Well done Fender. Well done indeed.

Yeah the malabo in jet black would look like the Johnny Cash guitar if it had a brown pick guard but i think the Rodondo in black is pretty close to the Fender Kingman
