- Downtown is home to more than 330,000 jobs and 88,000 residents. The heart of the region, the economic engine, is now quiet. While downtown Seattle is at a near-standstill, we're flattening the curve and doing what we can to battle COVID-19. The heart still beats strong and we'll be ready for the comeback.
Spent my last 2 years in Seattle.
It's one of the most beautiful place in the world.
Thank you Seattle, and awesome people in Seattle.
Thank you.
Bullshit it sucks like all us big cities!
We're glad you loved our home as much as we do! You're always welcome back anytime. 🙂
May we not only come back, but come back better than before.
yes, Seattle will survive
Bring the SuperSonics, City “Leaders”
Kudos Downtown Seattle Assoc -- you nailed it! It's beautiful, chilling, and inspiring. Love our city.
Chilling is such an apt word.
@@kymberleedellaluce I prefer this Video over Eric Johnson's... the Spirit & Intent matter! Thank you!
@@jimsullivan9104 Absolutely and you're welcome! :)
This makes me cry every time I watch it. I was born here. I lived my entire life here. I never, ever thought I would see my hometown like this. It's sad and so surreal. Like seeing the world after humans are gone.
As sad as some might find this.. I find a beauty in silence. We are finally forced to slow down and spend quality time doing art, hanging out with our family or really getting the chance to reflect within ourselves and do the things we were always to busy to do around our homes. It also forces us not to take our family and friends for granted. This world wide event has a purpose for us to slow down and appreciate the things we take most for granted and to love with everything we have because tomorrow is never promised. Obviously this is a blanket statement and we have our health care, military, officers, fire fighters, first responders, pharmacy and food related businesses who are unable to slow down but they do have the opportunity to share with the rest of us why it's important to stay home as much as possible and how best to protect ourselves. THANK YOU for taking care of the rest of us.
You will soon have all the time in.the world to enjoy being homeless and hungry.
I love America and have lots of friends and family there, praying for us all to get through this. Love from across the pond in old blighty, Rochester,England.
Dickens country? Good show. Jolly good show.
To you also Peres. I live right in the middle of downtown. I can see the Space Needle from the roof of my apartments. It's surreal to see it a ghost town. I've never in my life seen an empty bus here. To see the busses running 99.9% empty, is unreal.
Same to you, Peres. Thank you so much for your kind words.
This is beautiful and heart wrenching. Tears filled my eyes as I watched this. Thank you, Downtown SEattle Association. We will do this, one day at a time. And by having loving kindness and compassion for all those suffering around the world. We are one in this.
This city helped heal our son, we spent many of hard days in its arms, forever indebted to you Seattle! Stay safe, we'll see you soon ☀️🌈
Stay blessed our beautiful city ❤️❤️❤️
All my love and support to the loving people of Seattle. I was fortunate to visit it several times one year ago with my friends from Spain.
Seattle will be back stronger very soon. We got this!
zoperman23 Gracias! Lots of love from Seattle to Spain ❤️
OMG....crying. Thank you for this. Yes, together we will get through this. (And I no longer live in Seattle, but still...love your city.) Please stay safe everyone and for everyone's sake. PRAY for the doctors, nurses, medical workers, our leaders, families who have lost their loved ones. My heart is broken, but must be strong. Deep breath....
What a great video of our city. Thank you for making it and sharing your work. It's wonderful. Hope it will be an inspiration for people the world over.
This was an amazing video. We will get through this. Stay strong Seattle !
I want to go home.
But home was in the rhythm
The rhythm was the city
The city framed the mountains
The mountains made my comfort.
Now I am out, and it is cold.
In my bed. My bed is silent.
It listens for the city.
Bravo. Bravo. Bravo! Seattle's heart is in the right place.
I lived in Seattle during my 20's, leaving in 1985 (why did I do that??). I have visited regularly over the years but had felt saddened (and angry) because I have felt that Seattle had lost its soul over the years. This post brought tears to my eyes as I saw that Seattle's soul is still there.
There is no place in the world I love more than Seattle. Thank you, Downtown Association.
Beautiful! Thank for this moving piece. I'm more in love with our city than ever!
I lived in Seattle for 4 years, and adopted it to be my hometown. It will be where I will retire to, and I am devastated, but proud of how Seattle and the region has persevered throughout this whole tragic situation. I loved seeing my city through this lens, and can't wait to join you in rebuilding for the future. #WeGotThisSeattle
Thanking my home town for inspiration an ocean away in Paris - we will win!
I love my city. To all the residents that got stranded away from home, we will be here for you when this is over. We miss you too.
Wow! amazing video thanks! reminded me of all the streets I walked down for the past 13 years. Still a great city and it will come back. Much love.
I am a critical employee, and I have been continuing to report to work every day I am assigned. I cannot adequately convey to you the actual feeling of eerieness in downtown Seattle. But this video comes close.
Thank you.
@@pandaphil You're welcome! Saving the world, little by little. My puzzle piece is a small one but I'm holding on to it tightly.
Thank you for everything you're doing for us
@@poosley7476 Thank you! To be clear, my job is critical but I am support staff, I am not in danger at this time. The commute, however, is stressful. I do sometimes wave at the people if they look out their windows. Please everyone, continue to stay inside. And when you do come out, cover up that face!
Are you ok? I'm here if you need to talk.
The heart made from the buildings room lights at the end was pretty cool
Beautiful to those that created this, spent the hours editing this... THANK YOU
Seattle, my home for 5 years. Love Seattle! Be strong Seattleites!!!!!
I miss our city - it's hard to see it like this. But we'll be back. #WeGotThis
I know Seattle will be back better than before! Keeping you in our thoughts from Canada!
I miss Seattle. It still has my heart.
Living at Seattle's Mirabella Retirement Center located in the South Lake Union, I feel safe from the big bad virus taking over the world at this time, But, we will win because we love our country and our beautiful towns.
Thank you, Seattle...from Graham. We love you!
We love Graham
Seattle 💝... there’s no place like home.
Hauntingly beautiful. #12sUnited #AtHome 💙💚💙
Thank you seattle, for all of us who grew up here and aren’t quite ready to leave.
would be nice if we knew who produced/edited this whole thing. beautiful work.
I'm sad looking at the video, but also proud of Seattle
Way to flatten it, Seattle 💜Sending love
Damn, that was beautiful. Eeery, through.......
this is so beautiful and inspiring. I love Seattle. I was there 2 months before the outbreak, I am planning to go back when things settle down. Hang on Seattle!
Hey everybody, greetings from Seattle’s Rainier Valley. Stay safe friends and neighbors, and we will soon see each other! We will be back. Paz
Really beautiful and poignant ! Thanks for filming it!
Wow, just wow. Thank you everyone for playing your part. 😷💯✨💕
I spend so much time downtown in the course of my work. It's eerie to see it so silent.
Kudos everyone who is doing job by stayin home and preventing the virus from spreading. We will be role model for every other place. This video is really emotional for everyone who love and live in seattle. #WegotthisSeattle
This is what I call a city of love and Corona didnt stop us, it brought us togeather to be stronger then never before,
Very emotional and inspiring. Thank you for doing this.
Great beautiful video. Thanks
Wow! Didn't think this would make me so emotional. Have not worked downtown in a while, and I miss it cause there are so many amazing places to go. See you all on the flip side of this!
Stay Strong Seattle #wegotthisseattle
Thank you for this video. ❤️
Sad to see such a beautiful city empty. I was there for two weeks last year in July such a beautiful state . Come back stronger Washington .
From up in the islands I send you love and peaceful thoughts.
Such a beautiful city!!
But Some thing's coming out from my eyes.
We need to be strong. n As always , we will overcome.
Been there at least 10 times. The best city in the world.!
Beautiful my city ... my beloved people let us join forces that this will end one day and let us not forget that God is on our side.
I miss Seattle so much. :(
Beautiful! Nice job to whomever put this together!!
Very inspirational and moving. The first city to be hit will be the first to recover...
The bluest skies you've ever seen, are in Seattle
Thank you ❤️
powerful video
Wow, and just about every city throughout the WORLD is going to have to deal with this. Unbelievably unbelievable.
That's the cleanest it's ever looked!
I absolutely agree. As I watched, I could not get past the glaring fact that this video shows Seattle at her cleanest in God-only-knows how long. Yes, the "comeback" will be spectacular, but spectacularly... what? Will we continue to maintain that beauty we just saw in the video, because we've learned our lesson? Or will we destroy it the first chance we get, like spoiled children?
Looking forward to the celebration once this is over.
This is beautiful, it made me cry as a small business owner - it struck a deep chord. Who is the music by?
I want to know the same thing! My shazaam wouldn’t catch it.
Seeing this makes me sad and proud; I use to live near Seattle. Now, I work in Nashville, TN and regardless of time of day the still have more traffic than what I see in this video. I leave in a small town just outside of Nashville with just as much traffic.
Well done DSA and MID. I miss you all - Debbie
OK now I gotta go fix my makeup that I accidentally put on to feel normal. THIS IS SO WELL DONE. Friday Harbor thanks you.
I bet you fall for Ron Howard movies too...
@@DDumbrille I bet you are fun at parties too...
Me too, have tears in my eyes. I think only true Seattlilte will share your feeling
THANK YOU SEATTLE, YOU ARE AWESOME! and thank you to the fantastic leadership we have in our BLUE state. Thanks for filling in for the lack of federal leadership :)
Beautiful video
Excellent video Downtown Seattle Association!
Hell yes my city *Did that!!!
Thank you @SparkCreativeSeattle.
Thank you!
NWBuckeyeOne Yes!! I really want to know how to find this track!!
#WeGotThisSeattle
💪🙏💯
Agree! This is very well done. In the words of Frasier Crane, "Goodnight Seattle, we love you"!
I love the We Got This Seattle flag on top of the Space Needle. Thanks for doing this video; I don't think there would be any other way I'd have seen it.
My heart beats there still.
I love my seattle ! Come back strong Seattle !
Beautiful.
Seattle looks so clean.
keep on living seattle!!!
My grandparents don’t live far they live in Bellevue so they’re having the same thing as well as Ronald Cle Elum Wenatchee Leavenworth Roslyn and Seattle are having
Right now strength is silence and love is an empty street.
Beautiful! They might have meant to state 880,000 residents in the descriptive copy! Can this be corrected?
Pretty sure I saw Charlton Heston driving a red convertible down 5th Ave
Great video! Love my city! #WeGotThisSeattle
I had no idea this was happening here. I had no idea a once bustling city could be this deserted. You know why i didnt know? because i have been in my house for over 5 weeks.
I don’t live in the main city, however I live close to it. And to see the entirety of pike place market completely empty is unsettling. Seattle has never been this quiet. It looks like a ghost town.
I miss my Seattle
Love my city!
Does anyone know the soundtrack?
Welp. Time to finally cry lol
Inspiring. But hell, the economy is in a tailspin. Stay strong, for a long time.
Almost four months later now, and how are we doing?
Wow It's sad seen my beautiful Seattle looking so empty but it is necessary to help combat the spread of the virus
