    Also, I would like to know your views on how Socialism, if adopted worldwide, can help grow the global economy? Capitalism does trigger rapid growth and that's one of the reasons why we are in space, or why we are close to tackling the issue of global warming through technology. The Russians went to space well before the Americans, but that also came at a cost. I'm a photographer and filmmaker, and while dealing with the camera, I am always fighting the light and every time I need to capture motion, I have to choose a higher shutter speed but then my image gets darker and I have to bring light into the lens by choosing a wide-open aperture, which also has a cost, that is, I have to have an expensive lens to enable me to do that, and the other cost is having a very shallow depth of field. Now, If I have to have both fast shutter speed and narrow aperture, I will have to compensate for these settings by choosing a higher ISO, the cost of which is getting too much grain in my image.
    My point is, that this is how reality is. We can't have everything. There's always a cost that we have to pay. Maybe Capitalism and socialism aren't two opposing ideas at all. I think it's best to keep both systems. We can help the poor and neglected class through socialist reforms while keeping the economy growing through capitalist ideas. To think that Socialism and Capitalism are two opposing ideas is a false dichotomy in my opinion.

    Maybe, the best way to implement socialism will be to do it gradually. I'd say that the Scandanavian countries are better examples. Instead of shoving this system down people's throats, it's best to implement parts of it maybe it will take more than 100 years to implement it fully, and of course, it will keep on evolving. We can not say that these ideas are absolute truths, right?

    I really like your views on most things. But I think that in this video, you started by identifying a straw-man fallacy, but then went on to create too many straw men and destroyed them. Forget about what is "Fitri" and what "Ghair Fitri", what do you say about the fact that Capitalism is based on studies that prove how the system works, rather than "how things should be done" which is socialism.

    Taimur Rahman saheb, Don't you think selfishness is the default nature of human and it covers much more bigger sphere than selflessness? Your first example of Parent-Child relationship is specially biological and is not suitable for the relationship between humans in general. I think "hypocrisy" is an integral part of human nature too, this greatly creates trust deficit and ultimately a blocker for me to be selfless to rest of human being in my society (so that I can remain in power to prevent injustices to me and to my surrounding). One more doubt-if by any means we are able to establish a Socialist state, how it will transform into communism without the state enforcing the communist system on economic affairs? because a majority of population is not interested in the subject and the bad news is that they are the arms & weapons of Capitalists, including the hypocrites in the camp of communism-how the communists will be able to survive without a state power?

    • @phlegmatic...4057

      Necessity is the mother of invention!
      Once let the need occur of opposite system of capitalism, the communism will be inevitable system of the new world order!

    "sufi" state and egoistic population that tends to abstain from a dependent relationship will be needed in socialist states that aspire smooth transformation (evolution) into Marxist phase?

    The argument is people work more efficiently when the know they are working for themselves or for people they love than the for the community as a whole. Self interest is a greater force to push people to work. Taking example from 70s after Bhutto's Socialism numerous Investors moved to foreign knowing all their capital is being taken by the State.
    It does not matter what Marx or Engels say, the fact that everytime we try to implement socialist policies they prove to be disastrous, let alone prosperity. Ukraine famine in 1932 is another example. In Maoist China agriculture production was a success (putting aside the deaths of millions) it was because the peasants were used to given quotas and if they didn't fill the quota of production they wouldn't get food. Thus the peasants worked in their own interest than the for the Chinese community or for the Chinese future.

      @@AsadAli-jc5tg , His main point was what makes us poor. If you look at last fifty years of history socialism has made and kept most countries on the planet poor. Fact. The things that you have listed have various problems too. But none hinders prosperity as socialism does.

    • @greengalaxy8873
      @greengalaxy8873 4 года назад +1

      @@AsadAli-jc5tg , Pakistan is not socialist. But it will get even more poor if there is socialism. Look at India. India started to prosper only when it became economically liberal. The Nehru style socialism had kept India suppressed for a long time. There is still poverty. But socialism will only exacerbate it.
      We should learn from history. When Berlin wall fell, can you tell me why people moved from East Germany to West, and not the other way round? Why North Korea is poorer than South? Why Albania, Romania, Yugoslavia and other socialist countries did not do well compared to West European free market economies? Why Cuba is still a backward country? Why more than 80% of labour force in Vietnam is working in private sector? Private sector is the export earning engine of Vietnam.
      This professor is intelligent and reasonably explains the shortcomings of capitalism as written by Marx. But those shortcomings have been tackled in many countries with worker friendly labour laws, minimum wages, old age govt. pension, unemployment insurance, and other safety networks. The kind of socialism that this prof. is advocating (e.g. collective ownership of factory) only shows that he is not in touch with reality. Flexibility and realism will always win over book-smart intelligence and abstract reasoning.
