I love these! It super helpful to hear you both explaining the actual structure of the sentences and the differences in how they’re formed in English and Spanish. When I hear Cynthia’s explanation of how certain sentences are formed eg “we are 6”, that word arrangement sticks in my head better and helps me to remember to rearrange the word order before I do a translation. Thanks both 🙏 PS Thanks for the reminder about Por and Para. I have my kindle copy and it’s so useful but as I jump back and forth a lot with quizzes and checking & repeating things, I definitely need a hard copy of this fabulous little book 😁

I'm getting quite intermediate at Spanish and I got number 8 and 10 wrong, which I am very happy about! I will always study "beginner" level Spanish as there are always things I have missed.. and I want my Spanish to be built on a solid, super correct foundation. Cynthia said "I get up at half past seven, but Gordon you get up at eight." When I first saw the question on screen, this is what I formed in my head. Had I pictured this being Cynthia telling her friend or someone else, then I'd have formed that she'd have said "I get up at 7:30 but Gordon rises at 8." So dependent in the meaning initially formed and understood in the mind of the reader, both answers A or B can be correct. Dependent on whether my mitigation is accepted I either got all 12 correct or 11 out of 12

Yes, if I say: But, Gordon, YOU get up at... If I'm talking directly to him, then, yes, it'd be 'you'. In this case, the only possible answer is 'se levanta', since I'm talking about him. :) Good question.
