since the number of seats have gone up by more than 75 percent , and the toughness of the paper roughly being same, should the cut off not come lower than last year's 48.2 percent ???

Yeah but y didn't notice 2023s cutoff was lower than that of 2022 (319 and 324 respectively), on the other hand number of candidates appearing for this exam are increasing day by day so y have to take that into consideration also
