The text on the back of the box is the same as the VHS packaging from when it was released back in the 80s on VHS and Laserdisc. I remember the day i bought it in a record store. There was no internet so there was no way ot know that it was going to be released. I was shocked to see a videotape of a Purple Rain gig for sale.

I have a feeling Sony has released this because it won't be included in a 2024 Warner super deluxe edition of Purple Rain. The 1984 birthday show would be my choice for the live CD & the 1983 1st Avenue concert for the DVD. The 2017 PR deluxe edition will become obsolete.

But I can say that if you’re a serious collector of the late Prince’s music media, etc…you my friend will NOT be disappointed. I’m really in no rush to see the 1985 Syracuse concert(although I did feel hyped about it while filming my unboxing video) because I’ve already seen it like more than a dozen times. What really got me excited about this boxset is the fact that it’s finally on vinyl and audio CD form! Everything else it comes with is just an extra sweet bonus cherry on top. There are other avenues you can goby through in order to nab you a copy…eBay, Amazon, musicstack, etc… Of course you know that you may have to come out the pocket a bit more but… Sometimes the Prince Official Store website will restock their sold out items. Depending on what it is though.
I just checked the Prince official store website and it’s not sold out. Every version of this live Syracuse set is still available for purchase. So if you want to get one, you’d better hop on it.

Since I had it and a shirt in my cart a few days earlier but did not order, they sent me a free shipping code to inspire me to do so. I was able to use it to order once they took down the sold out sign so it worked out to save my a few bucks. I hope mine looks as good as you made it look in the video. I hate unpacking/review videos but yours are the exceptions for me. Keep up the good work

Say thanks for stopping by and watching this video Michael. I know huh…when I replayed this video before uploading it, I saw the same thing(what looks like a scratch on the purple vinyl). So I pulled out that purple vinyl and checked it out and it turned out to be just some white lint, lol.
Question: I just got mine and was pleased with the total package. Have you put the vinyls on your turntable? Mine visually wobble. I don’t think it effects the sound. What do you think? Thanks.

Yours wobbling during play, hmmmm, that's interesting...very sorry 2 hear that. At least it plays and the sound quality isn't effected.
