in theory. hear me out. with enough time and preparartion. you COULD cage a reaper. if you make a structure big enough to house one and had one wall slightly open you could lure it in with a seamoth and then get out and quickly 180 to fill in the wall. would cost too much of your time and a seamoth but it would be hella cool
Excellent idea. Alternatively you can learn it's swimming patter and slowly build around it's perimeter so that it not only has space and doesn't bug out, but that you can effectively swim around in with little to no fear of dyin' because you can just squeeze out. c:

My favourite was me just starting the game, after the ship explodes the game bugs out and a reaper comes from under me, through the terrain and progress locks that save. I didn't play again for another 5 months, not because of the patches needed...

I think the Reapers have two AIs; one is the normal shouting one, and the other is stalker mode, where it makes no sound and generally tries to stay outside the player's FOV
Honestly I prefer the stalker (was that what it’s called I have played in a while the seaweed bois) they really aren’t that aggressive and they look cool
i haven't really "played" subnautica so i started a fresh new save, and made it up to the second sunbeam message. i decided to head over to the aurora to find a seamoth fragment, but i didn't want to get too close. i'm just barely in the biome the aurora landed in for less than a minute and i hear a roar. i imagined it was a stalker because i was by some creepvines. i look up and see the silhouette of a reaper leviathan coming towards me and i swear to god i shat myself
@@sltrskid I've already beaten the game and know plenty of tricks to avoid death, especially from the Reapers (even killed two of them). And yet, to this day, just hearing their roars STILL terrifies me!! Not even the Ghost or Sea Dragon Leviathans come anywhere close to being as utterly nightmare-inducing as the Reaper Leviathan does!! 💀💀💀

I installed a few mods for maximum fear, first, the water depth is now 50m deeper map wide, alot of the aurora is underwater, the floating island is underwater, and your lifepod slowly floats up Second, perma dark, I decided it would be cool to have lore about the planet having a really long day night cycle, and that we crash landed at the start of it, meaning the brightest areas are when you're in artificial structures 4th is hallucinations mod, reapers, sea dragons, black tendrils, and various other scary stuff will appear from above, below, or Infront of you and disappear right before attacking
I hope they bring back Reapers or a descendent of the Reaper for the next game and they should be able to use their grabbies on foundations and rip them from the ground
If they make a third Subnautica game, they definitely should bring back the Reapers. I would love to see what new environment we'd be exploring, and how the Reapers could fit into it.
Just finished replaying subnautica today, i got 2 of my seamoths blown up by reapers The stasis rifle also freezes the seamoth in place so the reaper just om nomnomnoms the seamoths after i freeze them By the time I've gotten the perimeter defence modules I was already diving into the lost river

I've done maybe 5 or more full length playthroughs and have never gone to the mountains biome I don't know what it is about it that scares me more than any other place on the map

Once you figure out how to outsmart/outmaneuver/abuse the hookarm of the prawnsuit on the leviathans, the game loses all tension in my opinion. Too bad, since it is really well made.
One of my biggest fears in a situation like this is the reaper clipping through and getting u anyways; ive built bases right next to leviathans in subnautica below zero (inferior game) and i was always afraid of them just glitching through and killing me

You could lure it in with the seamoth, then deploy a decoy and run out of there, and cage it, you could keep a seamoth.
