I had to come back and listen to this again after watching Past Lives (so thank you for bringing that to my attention). For me, it’s the best film of the year. It stays with you and it still aches inside. One of those rare films where the whole audience remained seated after the credits rolled. I agree, three Oscar kids for Best Film, Best Director and Best Actress. You know it’s only made 11M globally?!

Thanks for the lists. Will be watching to a lot of these. But please say the movie name more than once, or provide the lists. It’s very difficult to pick out the name when we’re listening at 7x. :)
Yeah, if you haven't already heard about a movie, it's really hard to tell what movie name they are saying at times! Even when replaying over and over. (Like Suzume. But I was able to look it up from the director name.)
Can someone write down the 1-10? I am listening to this while working out but it's really hard to get all of them down
Id adore a series of Sopranos revisited, there is far too little in depth content of that show on youtube
Great year for movies except The Dial of Destiny was the Indian Jones equivalent of Rise of Skywalker :(
Clicking here but listening on my podcast tool. "Blame Canada" from the South Park movie was nominated for the Oscar, Robin Williams sang it with a huge chorus. Solid argument to be made taht is was nominated so that it would have to be performed on the broadcast so that SOMETHING would be entertaining. Nice review on NYT of One Piece points out that live action versions of stylized anime lose that stylistic energy, which plays a bigger part in the work than flim makers realize (Cowboy Bebop their other example). It's not just a cool story with cool music, it LOOKS cool. Can't match that unless you create something so stylized...it looks like an anime.

Like you've got super chapped lips, and you can't find your damn chapstick, meanwhile Aaron is just sitting over in the corner with pockets full of glasses cleaning clothes, half finished punch cards, grandpas eye drops, a bunch of lose mints, and your chapstick...
You shouldn’t read into the subtext of Jon Wick. There really isn’t any even if it’s highly entertaining.
