Thank you for taking the time to recognize the crimes of genocide being committed against the Palestinian people.
I will never tire of hearing Beau’s opinions/rants 🍉
I really respect and appreciate what Beau said about Gaza. It's so true and really respect you for going off like that. People need to hear it.
My biggest problem with Oppenheimer and Flower Moon is the same problem I have with Miyazaki's The Wind Rises. These are heartbreaking stories about the human condition and consequences that come from the conflicts and choices we make . . . but there are also absences and solences in the story that make these narratives . . . complicated.
Just as Miyazaki-sensei failed to mention that Jiro Horikoshi's military planes were created using Korean slave laborers, Nolan missed an opportunity to make space for the multitude of indigenous people who were pushed off their land during Project Trinity and how the Navajo and Pueblo janitors, cooks, and laborers who on the sites were exposed to uranium that they then took back home to their families. New Mexico's lands and waters are still poisoned to this day because of those projects. When we tell stories from history for entertainment, who do we leave out? Do we have a duty to show the full human conditions // and consequences when these stories are based in the real world (especially when that history's afterlives are still resonating today)?
As a historian, I don't know what the answer is . . . but I think those questions should be part of our film conversations 🍉🌿
Past Lives was my film of the year. It got under my skin and stayed with me for weeks. Actually made me question my own life decisions. I think it's a perfect film.

I don't watch that many movies and i think i went to the cinema like 3 times last year. But the banter is quite enjoyable and with the recommendations i always have a nerd soupy certified banger to share with the family! Keep up the good work
Not pooping is the hardest part of quitting smoking. I'm there with you Aaron

John wick being number 1 makes sense to me 😂
John Wick was by far my favorite theater experience this year. A maximalist masterpiece
Apperantly these are my top 20 films of the year, there are a lot of movies I didn’t get to see yet that I am sure would push some of my 8/10s off the list but for what I saw this is what it is from top to bottom:
Killers of the Flower Moon 10
Godzilla Minus One (2023) 10
Beau is Afraid (2023) 10
Poor Things (2023) 10
Across the Spiderverse 9.5
MI: Dead Reckoning (2023) 9.5
Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3 9

I always wonder if dubs are seen as better only because we don't know the language so we can't distinguish between bad voice acting and good voice acting in japanese 🤔😅
SOUP
Wick at 1 is horrendous

Just eat more fiber Aaron. Metamucil
First
for the squat--no offense but this'll offend--it's bad form. you've trained the wrong muscles, the support that prevents injust obviously didn't do their job. best advice i can think of is lift on the balls of your feet and use a weight belt until your core is a lot stronger.
why is may december so low? when nat p starts on the lisp, makes you think, was it so evident to begin with? everything about the story and a masterclass in acting,, should be higher. guess it's a comment about the past year in film.
🍉🇵🇸
Boa…. There’s no money in it but you need to become a political commentator
Honestly Beau I like you, but Skinamarink what the biggest pieces of shit I've ever seen. I get what they were going for, but the director sucks at cinematography, framing, timing and then you have the terrible audio, acting, how boring it was, how difficult it was to follow where characters are at times, and how there was really zero story or payoff. It truly, really was like watching paint dry, with 2 frames of a kid with a mask edited it.
Don’t quit nicotine Aaron. Just switch to zynn. You need to poop
Comparing the native american genocide with the war in Israel is a bit poor.
why? they're both horrific genocides of Indigenous populations being driven from their homeland by oppressors. What is being done to Palestine is horrendous
I love you guys honestly you’re one of my favorite YT channels but please do not ever talk about politics again you have no clue what you are saying🤣
