God gave the 10 commandments at Mt Sinai to put fear in the people, and so they would listen to Moses when he gave the rest of the law. The 10 commands were only the beginning of the law. We should keep all the righteousness of the law of YHVH.
The Torah says blue thread and I guess white with blue is traditional. The Word does not speak of other colors. As far as I can tell, as long as we include our blue thread, we are good! Shalom!
Leviticus 15:37-41 there IS a specific instructions to tie a blue cord in it. I am going to go purchase my cotton thread and other colors so that for tonight's Erev Shabbat activity I can show our kids how to do this and teach them the why. They see Dad wearing them but don't have an understanding. They will
