You are making good, steady progress with the boat. I am also happy to see your mission is still clearly defined, with a worthy goal. The experience of this passage, with all its challenges, will overshadow any landfall goal, so why not just to enjoy NZ ice cream?
I am using one side of the center board trunk for the daggerboard trunk. The inner side of it was made for the center board and had some rubbing prevention. This outer side is more smoth. Also It is only slightly off center and on good side for getting to windward when meeting the south east trades at the Equator.
Lots of boats like catamarans use a single daggerboard just on the down wind side. And so do many boats that use keel boards like Dutch and Thames barges. A small offset CM's on a cruising boat will not be noticeable ... An angle or symmetry in the dagger board foil section may actually have more of an effect. Think about hard chine bilge keel Yatchs and how they can sit on a tack whilst heeled especially if they have twin rudders.

To be clear he's already done many long distance trips over many decades- you can find him appear in other peoples' long distance sailing videos on RUclips as "you'll never believe who else is in this harbor! WIth his tiny sailboat." THis guy knows how to do it and what it takes. And what you see is his continuing to build in safety into this boat to be able to accomplish this voyage!
Presents today! Can't wait to see this daggerboard!❤❤
Ancient Mariner Sailing had a new one today, Another modest creator
The test sail when you first put her in the water will be exciting!

I think Duniden is not an official port of entry, you might need to go a bit further north to lyttleton. But maybe you can make a special application?
A good thing if you find out
Great progress!
lots of details in that blasted dagger board problem solving
Why did you change the centreboard to a daggerboard?
I watch 98% of your videos but I must have missed that one.
👍
Why is the daggerboard not in the center line ? 🤔
