I AM SO EXCITED. STREAMING MAY 2ND ON MAX!!! -John

I know people think anxious people want some kind of immovable reassurance, but anxious people want to actually be reassured that they won’t be anxious forever. When the guy says “it’s not forever, it’s now” it clicked to me. I’m hooked.

  • @TwistedRiddles

As someone with OCD, this felt like a punch in the stomach, but like… in a good way. I cried.

  • @burridi

Hoping for a scene of John as a health/history teacher talking about tuberculosis

  • @lolonny777

this trailer is hilarious because not once does it mention the main plot of the book… oh we’re so back

  • @prettyprettybirdie314

I'm not crying, you're crying. When this book came out I was a teenager newly diagnosed with OCD, afraid I would feel this way forever. I thought I would always be sad and anxious and alone. That I would never be capable of having a meaningful romantic relationship. Well just last week I was having a panic attack and my husband rested his head against mine just like Davis does to Aza at the end of this trailer and told me, "Your now is not your forever." (He has heard a LOT about John Green from me.) It's going to be so weird to watch this movie knowing how far I've come and that I started out just like Aza. Everybody told me it would get better but I didn't really believe them. Turtles All the Way Down, and John Green in general, was one of the things that gave me hope. It's my "An Imperial Affliction."

Having OCD and actually seeing it on screen is so so nice. Mental health representation matters

How supportive her best friend is is making me cry. In those moments when we are stuck in a thought spiral all we wish for is for someone to break us out of it. Like her friend is doing for her. And to hear that we're not crazy or stupid or defect for having these unhelpful thoughts

  • @jordan13danielle

Non-readers are about to be in for a huge surprise with this one👀

  • @jeatv21

Okay, but why is she me though, like that line where she said; “A lot of my thoughts don’t even feel like mine.” God I felt that can’t wait for this movie!!!

  • @thewinterizzy

Oh I can’t wait for this. My favorite John Green book. 😭 Non-readers are in for a loop when there’s a whole mystery element not even mentioned in the trailer though! 😂

This book changed my life. It helped me get diagnosed with OCD, something that I have struggled with my entire life. I am a better version of myself because I could see myself in Aza. Help and progress are possible.

  • @rachelhungerford8336

okay, I literally wasn't expecting to cry at this trailer and then her mom said "no matter how scared you are, you never stop trying." and now there are tears in my eyes at work. thanks, John.

im really happy for other generations that they get films like this for anxiety/OCD disorders. Im going to watch but having something like this as a teenager would have made me feel so seen.

  • @joellebrooke42

This is releasing the day after the 9th anniversary of when I was released from the hospital after my OCD nearly took my life. 9 years later and I get to watch a story that hit me closer than Bette Davis' film Now, Voyager did.

  • @Anilikedifranco

I am sure this movie will make me feel so normal, as the book did !! No spirals !!!

  • @RyanMcLeodsAwesome

This looks great! I'm slightly confused as to why we're acting like it's just a romance story, but I assume WB is doing that to try to get the people who have never read a John Green book and loved The Fault in Our Stars 😆

  • @TheLegendaryMovieCritic

Isabella Merced is gonna be so incredible as Aza Holmes in Turtles All The Way Down it looks great!

So glad this movie is going to get released! Looks fantastic. So nice to see OCD accurately represented in a movie.

  • @CrayonOlay

Lol I burst into tears. The novel made me feel so seen and I’m certain this film will mean so much to young people out there now who are struggling 💚
