  • Brand new Diamond DA42-VI taking off from the Diamond Aircraft factory in Austria for the first leg of its trans-Atlantic trip to the Diamond Aircraft factory in London, Ontario, Canada -- and ultimately to the US. For the ferry flights the aircraft is operating under temporary Austrian registry OE-UDK "Oscar Echo Uniform Delta Kilo" heard in the audio.
This flight would ultimately last 6 hours, 23 minutes non-stop over the North Sea to Wick, Scotland at reduced power settings to maximize range.
The messy wiring on the right side of the instrument panel is for the HF radio temporarily installed under the panel.
The video also shows the ferry pilot copying down the flight's IFR clearance being radioed by ATC.
