    Jody, I can’t thank you enough. I was thrown into welding on accident after a guy up and quit at work about 10 years ago now. First thing I did was pull up your videos with a quick RUclips search and it was game over after that. I’ve been a fan ever since. I’ve listened to every single podcast and still learn stuff from you guys. I want to thank you, I’ve been to places I thought I would never see, done things i thought I would never do and made money I never thought I would make all because of your videos and information you provide. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart and I sincerely appreciate every bit of content you share with us.

    • @Zzrdemon6633
      @Zzrdemon6633 7 месяцев назад

      I'll answer that , it's slang for an accident because no american can say “an accident” or undersatand there is no such thing as an “accident” everything is a result of negligence , but saying accident relieves your weak brains of responsibilities! Thank the liberal agenda

    Just know that some folks really appreciate all of the free content that you have put out for years !!!! Tons of valuable information!!!! I have worked in oil and gas new construction for the last 10 years or so , running a rig truck life was great. 2020 changed that for myself and most of my coworkers. Because of the content you have put out Jody I was able to find work doing aluminum fabrication. If it wasn’t for your information you shared I would have no idea where to begin!!!! So yes !!!! I’ll be happy to to pay for a subscription!!!! I understand not everyone is able or willing to do that but they need to understand the knowledge that you share is extremely valuable and can be used to make a good honest living. Thank you !!!!!

    I stumbled across one of your videos years ago Jody. And it actually kind of got me interested and intrigued in welding and the processes. So I went out and bought a mig welder then I bought a Tig welder. Now I’m just a hobbyist. I don’t do it for a living like some other people probably do. I have kind of been like a little kid waiting for the next Saturday morning cartoon to come out in regards to your episodes. I’ve bought stuff from your store I have the app. I hope that the content that you’ve provided and enriched my life with doesn’t disappear.

    I noticed a lot of guys use a glove on the rod hand. If you can learn to roll your fingers as you add rod you can use almost all of the rod and you dont have to stop. After using tig on my job an old timer taught me this technique. After a while I could weld bare hand which makes tig so much easier. this is a great video he's using the perfect technique.

    Retired welder here that still dabbles with my Miller shoebox tig/stick welder. Wanted to thank you for all your videos, Jody. You're a very good instructor. I wanted to ask if you ever heard of this aluminum preheat trick an old-timer taught me years ago. He told me when having to preheat aluminum because of thickness he said to fire up your oxy/acetylene torch and adjust the torch so you're pushing out mostly carbon smoke. Then smoke up your aluminum piece real good. Next set your torch to your heating points and then start to heat the piece. When the carbon disappears then your aluminum piece is preheated enough to weld. Let me know if you ever heard of this one. Take care DAWG the retired welder from the Show Me State.

    Jodi - have a suggestion for you: put a "scholarship" box as option on everyone's subscription. For those that want to offer an extra $2.00 to cover scholarship to some who say they can't afford the paid content. People could apply for a scholarship subscription and 100% of the "scholarship" money would go to providing to those that applied and were given free access. Perhaps for limited time - to rotate them in and out. Just a thought.

    I wish you well and I'll miss your content here if you leave. It's some of the clearest, most professional material available to "hobbyists" like myself and certainly appreciated. Your TIG-fingers work well for steel-welding MIG-gots like myself too, though you and Justin have got us strongly considering a TIG machine to improve our steel and add aluminum to our projects when we've got more budget.
    Any platform that's robust and secure enough for more than 100 folks or for payments is still part of "Big Tech", FWIW. Platforms are communication tools and there are only a handful that are going to persist. You can't efficiently be on all platforms, but I really hope you'll continue to add here where it makes sense for you.

    Looking forward to this with anticipation. Two recommendations: 1) The experts should have a more diverse selection of welding machines. The "If I can do it, you can do it" message can rings a little hollow if "you" have an expensive Miller machine and "I" can't afford or don't want to own one. 2) Please, please, please have the experts produce a video (or a video series) that shows how to recognize contaminated welding gas when welding aluminum. I beat my head against the wall trying to learn to TIG weld aluminum when my first bottle of gas was contaminated. Noone on youtube shows what that actually looks like. Looking forward to subscribing!

I thought I wasn't cleaning my pieces well enough and then after I cleaned a piece with a wire brush for 20 mins and knew it was clean and still had the same results I started looking elsewhere. Long story short I had a bad bottle........ go figure

    What do you think of virtual welders for training new welders? My org. says it’s the future of training. I said these units cost as much as 20 years of coupons and rods...thoughts?

      Agreed lol no simulation will give you the experience of actually welding, and then the troubleshooting to fix said welds lol

      I tried a Lincoln electric mig simulator 2 years ago. It’s just not the same. Maybe they’re better now since 2 years is a long time in tech world but I doubt the are good enough to really learn on.

      I think virtual trainers are ok to get potential welders interested, but after a few basic lessons, its time to do the real deal and burn real rods on real metal

    What would pick for a welder for a beginner? I don’t do a lot of welding but would like to be able to weld aluminum. The all in one units are appealing but don’t know. I currently have a Hobart 140 but it really doesn’t like aluminum. I’ve seen units like the yeswelder that claim to do 5 in one even cut. Thoughts? Thanks in advance

      Buenos días. Yo también pediría que se incluyeran subtítulos en español. Muy buen trabajo y de mucha ayuda para seguir mejorando en la soldadura.

    Hey Jody, I notice you are using a clear cup here and I've seen you use a Furick ceramic cup to Weld AL in AC Tig before and I'm wondering about the notification on WeldMonger to use these two cups in DC mode. Both cups have a little text in the description that say to only use these two cups in DC because the arc can short out at the metallic wire screen used to diffuse the argon. Are you pulling those screens out and welding without them or are you doing something else I can't see? Welding in AC on AL is a new thing for me and my focus until now has been to make sure my arc length is as short as possible and to keep my torch angle as vertical as I can manage so I haven't even noticed I was welding AL with both the clear and ceramic cups that have the wire mesh screen diffusers for the gas. Could you please comment on this. I know you can't address every question and problem on here and WeldMonger but it seems like a contradiction between the instructions on the website and the application in practice here. Thanks man. And thank you for all you do. I don't even mind paying a tiny bit more on the store because I know it helps support all the education you do for this community.
