Dave, Your Pedal Steel playing is beyond awesome! Your dedication and skill is in every piece you play. I'm 74 years old and have loved the Steel Guitar and Pedal Steel ever since I was 18 years old. I even played the Lap Steel some but was never able to master it. That is why I admire what you do.You are a credit to your profession Dave. Thank goodness for people like you who keep the Pedal Steel alive! God bless you and you work.

My older brother talked our parents into having me put in restraints for trying to go to Alaska to see what my family called my imaginary wife and daughter Jewelry and Jewel Kilcher calls the guy that gave me his sisters hand in marriage her father in public and Jewel’s song Enter from the East is about Me

One of David's most innate gift from Jesus is: He NEVER paints his self in a corner. For there is always one more note if he needs it. Indeed yes. Praise Jesus for giving this very kind man, talents that few have ever had.
Of course there are other talents than playing the steel guitar. And every one has talents. They are just not all the same.
    Praise Jesus!

They don't make music like this anymore and its a crying shame. Because this instrumental alone makes my heart hurt and my eyes wanna cry. The pure emotion is insane in this mans execution of this song. Not to even mention the pure pain and agony it takes to write such a song. Thank you so much.

    • @kencarney6667
      @kencarney6667 2 года назад +1

As a former songwriter, I can tell you first-hand that it
takes a lot of pain and anguish for someone to write a song. Songs are based on one's feelings
be they happy or sad. I'd
      say that almost anyone
can write a poem-- which is
what a song would be minus the music. And there's where the musician
      comes in. That person has
the knack of mating both words and music together
and make it all sound seamless. It's a gift that very few people receive and it's nice to hear when someone listens to and appreciates your work.
      Yes Alex, songwriting is an
      artform when one person
      does it. Today, however,
      hardly anyone writes a song
      themselves. Now, it's done
by a roomful of people and
      the basic feelings are gone.
Modern songs are just empty images of what music used to be.

Just wanted to say, i love this song, especially by Jack Green, but i love the steel, always have my mother introduced me to Classic Country when i was very young, and when you heard the steel you knew ,, you are exceptional at what you do,.and i will keep this in my favorites always so that i can enjoy real country music the way it was back in the day,...

I remember when first married with my beautiful baby son and my hubby who was in the Navy leaving on his first overseas trip of our marriage. I was on my knees scrubbing the kitchen floors and this came on, and the tears flowed and my dear wee boy cried with me. Have never forgotten this

The magical sounds that are produced by this instrument are all of the obvious ingredients that we all see and hear but the one thing that really catches my ear are the perfectly harmonious chord tones that constantly accompany the lead melody. In other words, if the melody was purely monophonic it would still sound really nice but the ingenious design of this instrument allows the player to deliver upward and downward independent pitch bends of individual strings to keep all the diads and triads perfectly in key, The sound of musical bliss to say the least. Although there are many, This is perhaps one of the finest example of the genius of mankind bridging the gap between the physical word and the human soul. Even my cat temporarily falls in love with me every time i put on a few of Dave's tunes. Dave has really given the world a gift with these videos as did whoever designed the pedal steel guitar and i thank you both for your hard work, You guys deserve every compliment you get and much more. I'd love to find another example of the superb harmonic qualities this instrument can deliver but i doubt i ever will. Dave, I hope your doing well and still generating the sounds from the heavens that we all love!!! Thank you from all of us my brother!!!
