Are you serious? Magnus is literally a male version of me and I watched everywhere to find a such good and brave, and intelligent, and carrying boyfriend, but guys with Alexander's personality are so hard to find

I was blessed to have zero clue about Shadowhunters when I binged the show in two weeks. It took about a week for me to finally get through the first few episodes, but after that very first “who are YOU…” from Magnus, my interest in the show shot up and I was hooked.
And let’s face it, they’re an extremely attractive couple with convincing on-screen chemistry.

SAME, they became my anchor for the show coz I prolly wudnt have made it thru the first half if it weren't for them. Idk how but u can literally feel the sparks between them from the moment they met, it was crazy

@@jyu6977 the problem is that SH got an ending, even the Malec wedding that Cassandra Clare never wrote about. We were given more than expected, and the serie cannot go on. The actors are all involeved in new roles and the set has been dismantled!
@@maggiebane2069 Actually the wedding is in The Queen of Air and Darkness (book 3 of the Dark Artifices series that was released in 2018). It's totally different but their wedding was written :)
I feel you. I suffered every time they had a fight and cried, when Alec broke up... When Alec cried when Magnus went to Edom to safe everyone and Alec got there to be with him... overwhelming!
This is perfectly done. Crying while watching. Even after more than 2 years since the show ended, the MALEC fever lives on. 2021 already but it never grows old.

It’s one of the best edits of Malec , background music , their dialogues synchronised with various scenes , wow ..
The way you sequenced the scenes structured their story beautifully. Add along the music scores, it became cinematic gold. I love how you put some of the key lines as voice overs for some of the scenes. You've done a great job telling their story, your timeline is a work of art! Truly, of all the edits that I've seen, I think yours one that have truly done them justice.
It has been awhile for me to be so taken by tv characters, much less when it comes to a couple. But when it comes to them, it felt like peeling layers of wonder - I fell more in love with them at each step, with each nuance discovered. There is incredible depth to Harry & Matt's potrayal of their characters & inherent dynamics. You see more context when you pay attention to the minute details to the way they carry themselves e.g. a twitch at the end of their lips, the brief tremble in a supposed steady gaze, or even the change in the pitch of their voices when they talk (listen to the way they talk to each other vs with others). You can see how multifaceted their characters truly are through the subtle, yet brilliant way both Harry & Matt brought Magnus & Alec to life. I'm still in awe from what I discovered after the fact (from re-watching, or edits).
And Malec as a couple? What is most brilliant about their relationship is their ability to overcome their challenges. Ranging from their different backgrounds, to insecurities rooted from years of neglect or abuse, they found within each other a love so pure where, I think, rather than a healer, what they have found is a metaphorical pillar on which they can lean on, a pillar where they can rest their wearied soul upon; they were each other's additional source of strength that boosts their standing. They were a romantic ideal without erasing any sense of realistic pragmatism. We see how they had to learn to adjust towards each other. But the key for their growth is clearly those "efforts" they spoke of, and compassioned acceptance. I guess, in their world full of destructions & desperate calls for survival, they found in each other something that made life worthy - wondrously beautiful even. All of these, I sensed simmering under all of their shared scene, through their shared loving gaze, or gentle caresses, patience, & quiet confessions.
Very rarely do I see such softness being shown on tv. Malec really warms me up, reminded me to some real-life couples I know personally, who share a bond so strong. Such a beautiful love they have, that even now, I'm still left wanting to know more about their story. Also, at their wedding, what stood out for me most was really how happy everyone was for them. Honestly, my cheeks hurt so bad from smiling so hard when I watched the final episode.
I'm sorry for rambling. But I am so utterly, completely fond of Malec (and Harry & Matt's brilliance at playing them), I can't help all these feelings brimming inside me. Your edit brought it all out! Congrats again for this gorgeous, eloquent edit!

I started watching shadowhunters but the story was not interesting at all to me. these two though? i immediately fell in love. sadly enough, i didn't continue the show but I did catch up on everything that they went through because their relationship is just so great.

@@extrabadluck Agreed. When I started the books I'll admit I started losing interest pretty quickly, but somehow made it until Magnus' entrance. From then I pretty much just skipped until I saw his name and only read those parts. Sorry to those who read the books like a normal person! Magnus and the chemistry between these two is what kept me in this series.

Maybe if I had been watching an episode a day, I would have been more ok with her and some story telling... But, watch till you die or nothing. 🤣 My advice , enjoy Magnus, Alec and even mama Lightwood and you'll be fine 👌

It's very clear to see that Harry and Matt's chemistry got stronger after the first season. They probably weren't as comfortable in the first season and obviously got to know each other better. By the last season their chemistry is volcanic. I'm glad I discovered this pairing even though I'm late to the game!
I really wanted to get over with this. But again and again I came to the same pages and see them and felt like satisfied. Get rid from the memories of Malec is actually a difficult job for me

I miss malec and I wish we could’ve seen more of their story onscreen, I feel like it was great casting with Harry and matt as magnus and alec and we may never get such great casting again should it be rebooted one day, so it sucks it ended with them as malec, I’d love to see a show centered around Magnus life/story with everyone shadowhunters and everyone else side characters/story in his world, he was the most interesting and fun character besides malec as a couple
