Thank you... I have been at WGU and just got my A+ and am about to get my Sec + and Net + by Feb. I found that I really really have a passion for cybersecurity. CTF has just changed my life quite literally. This is as you said real world hands on for us who don't have "experience" while searching for a job. This gave me a way to showcase my skills and flex the problem solving that is needed for this profession.

Thank you John Hammond, I started HTB long time ago just manage to get the login code and it make me felt too difficult for me to continue and I almost gave up. Fortunately, while just browsing RUclips and watched your video. It motivate me, I started to register THM as notice HTB might require more experience in those skillset. With that, at least I am improving and learn a lot via all the challenge, write up and video from Internet. Thank you so much

First off, I really like your videos, both the content and the quality. I've never known about CTF before, but I'm glad I stumbled upon your channel.
Also, I've been a Windows guy my entire life (30 something years), but for a few years I have wanted to give Linux a real try. Thanks to your videos I've installed Ubuntu on my laptop (not daily driver) and have done some easier CTF challenges. Your videos really make me understand how to navigate on Linux, and what the commands do. It's been a much better learning experience for me than trying to follow some guide on how to use Linux. Keep up the great work! Looking forward to watching your future videos as well.

Since I started playing CTFs I got better at programming in python and managed to build solutions that logged into our internal systems with a few lines of code whereas before I had tens of lines in Javascript using headless browsers and over complicating things. Thank you for sparking my interest in this area!

No amount of hacking has changed my life. Only Facebook pays for bug bounties. Most companies are either not concerned (even if there is a serious flaw), or in no way interested in giving any reward for a serious bug reported that could affect their well-being as a business. I've become somewhat disillusioned with white-hat, and don't bother reporting most bugs any more (definitely not for FB games anyway), and just abuse them for either having an unfair advantage or making people stop playing those annoying games - not something that's good for the developers, but if they don't want to know...
    My current favourites are:
Abusing FB games, while not getting caught for cheating,
Avoiding RUclips adverts (plus other RUclips tricks that will remain a secret)
Reverse engineering chrome browser extensions to obtain useful information without installing (a potentially) data collecting extension (Honey is interesting, although not really useful).
Hacking online chats to find vulnerabilities for causing amusement.
Teaching AI systems incorrectly, to cause unwanted (and hard to prevent), unintended actions.
Getting people locked out of accounts for inconvenience (when internal emails used for logins are leaked and the system is not set up correctly).
Getting a lot of people to access something, unknowingly, to manipulate popularity of links (Good for national broadcasting services, and a lot of fun).
All real world, and more fun than a capture-the-flag.

Absolutely agree! I had a question for you what do you think of paid resources like itpro.tv? Currently I'm in school full time so really it doesn't matter ultimately but for gaining additional knowledge during the summer or even to help supplement during school. I recently signed up for a trial the content seems pretty good and I am a member of tryhackme and hackthebox. Don't spend enough time on it. But I just get overwhelmed with what I should be focusing on. Love to read but after watching your video I really think maybe other than my school work I should stay focused on tryhackme and hackthebox. Sorry that's a lot! Thank you though for all the work you do you have no idea how much you have already helped me!!
