I don’t think you can stop it unless you do the style from scratch using human hair.. You just have to pull them apart each time and cut the strands that need to be cut. I think it happens because the locs are synthetic.

If she wants butterfly locs then she can ask for that but you'll have to find a good stylist on a social media platform to find someone who can do them good or for soft locs if you want those

Are you saying she needs to be high maintainance. She literally just oils her scalp. Tf are you on. Maintainence is a choice not a necessity duh. But no Maintainence can fix your stank behaviour

Use nail glue to seal the ends
I’m even later lol but what @Juanita said. My stylist used nail glue so they didn’t unravel
if you wrap it with spring twist and rub the loc it shouldn’t unravel
