Short edit of footage showing Buakaw's warmup prior to the fight with Greek kickboxer ''Iron'' Mike Zambidis. Music is a segment of DJ Shadow's ''Napalm Brains''
Man don't apologize about nothing, it's always an honor to be able to watch him do his thing wether it be on the bag, pads, mitts, air or someone's bread basket
Its his body type. Small compact framed bodies can develop muscle easily, even when only training in calethenic excercises. Taller westerners generally have bigger frames and longer muscles so they are more inclined to use weights to boost their size. I've seen people with similar body types as buakaw gain alot of muscle just from doing kungfu every day without the aide of weights.
The fight used to be on youtube but somehow it disappeared...I think I still have the fight on my PC..if u really wanna see it lemme know and I'll put it up.
He doesn't train kung fu. I do think that smaller frames sometimes find it easier to develop muscle. But because of his size, the muscle is also much more apparent. He doesn't have copious amounts of muscle. He's just insanely well-toned imo.
This is where you post a link to your shadow boxing vids and tell us about the stadium championship belts you've won. PS: he's warming up and visualizing in a cramped office, not doing a kata competition
i think you guys need to watch that again, zambidis lost on points not KO, and he landed 2-3 hooks on buakaw's ribs which were shown clearly on the replay. Buakaw was in superior shape but I would like to see this fight now,as Zambidis can outboxe him.
He had to of landed some shots. But if you noticed Buakaw along with most MT fighters, would happily trade a high kick to the body or head for a punch.
I agree that marathoner's "size" is slimer. but I cannot agree with "no muscles at all" part. Their muscle's built over such long hard train, they are so lean and defined. By the way, the point I was trying to make is that, muscle conditions and type like Buawkaw's is much more complicated than just the explanation which says heavy weight+low reps=big muscle, low weight+ high rep=slimer toned. Just like Fedor, his body does not look ripped, the size is just some guy on street, but he's different
@fasioletti watch the slow mo - he clearly leads with the hips. And for those of you with the stupid know it all comments - go watch some thais throwing headkicks first - they don't turn their hips into them anywhere near as much as the body kicks. Its a different style of kick. get over yourself - you're critiquing the guy who's widely recognised as having one of the best kicks in the world.
well, my friend. I was stating just some thouhts. I dind't think it's argument either. And yes, u said perhaps, but as far as I can understand perhaps can mean, maybe, for something you are not 100% sure. But it doesnt mean "some" or "certain ratio".
That's not good explanation. He still looks different from American kickboxer. American kickboxers do train specific muscles that they use in fight. But the fact that he doesn't use artificial weight to train isolated muscles, rather he trains in motion. If it's only about size, he should look alike marathoner, but he does not.
I do agree with what your saying and was an interesting read but....... Isn't "slimer" that thing out of ghost busters? Surely your going on about "slimmer" people? :-)
@fasioletti I didn't say "he is" I said he was widely recognised as it. Big difference. And Yod is considered to have the hardest kick. His power is legendary. Serously, do you actually know ANYTHING about the thai boxing world or have you watched a couple of instructional videos here on youtube and think that means you know what you're talkign about? Quite clearly, everyone else who watches this video disagree with you as well.
ummm...I think Honestabe86 was jokin....but the fight was pure domination. Zambidis= owned. But u kno wut...I still respect Zambidis because he got owned by the best...and the best owns everybody. Buakaaaaaw!
thats cuz most american guyz work out for asthetic purposes, all of buakaws workouts are specific to muscles he uses in a fight, dont need bulk, dont need lots of heavy weights
I'm not trying to insult you either bro but you're wrong. Go to a site called Dailymotion and search for 'Lumpini hardcore kos'. You will see Buakaw and others KOing people using the same kick. Same hip rotation, just more power. As I've said before, in this video, Buakaw is performing is an easy WARMUP and VISUALISING. Are you honestly going to tell me that you are surprised that he is not throwing every kick and punch with full force?
@fasioletti mate Im done talking to you now because you're putting words in my mouth and frankly, that means I cant even argue with you because you're just gonna say anything. My previous posts speak for themselves. so do yours unfortunately.
probably not that low.. but not far.. dark complexity makes look more ripped.. casual people dont realize that. on the contrary, almost white skin makes very hard to look chiseled
@fasioletti and yes he IS considered one of the best pound ofr pound. Why on earth do you think people are so desperate to see him and yod fight? because they're two of the best kickers in the business. You basically said in a lower comment that you can kick better. Lol that tells anyone who knows even the slightest EXACTLY what they need to know about you. Now shut up and go have a couple of fights - maybe even go to thailand before you start trying to correct buakaws kicks.
Hahahaha, U were obviously watching a different fight. Zambidis did good, the best he could do against a guy like Buakaw. But there's no way in hell you're gonna tell me that he had any advantage or had Buakaw in danger. Why do u think Buakaw got the unanimous decision???? C'mon now.
ur talkin like a jab from a straight. when u follow thru by turnin ur hips u throw urself off balance n leave urself open. he jus shadow boxin anyway sheesh
dude is in tremendous shape!
Man don't apologize about nothing, it's always an honor to be able to watch him do his thing wether it be on the bag, pads, mitts, air or someone's bread basket
OH man....what a beautiful video....Poetry in motion.

thx vividgfx.. I did what I could to spice up this short clip (sorry abt the aspect ratio - the original file was messed up)
DJ Shadow's 'Napalm Brains'
Buakaw does use the side teep. He should use it more often. Very effective. Saenchai uses it often
The fight used to be on youtube but somehow it disappeared...I think I still have the fight on my PC..if u really wanna see it lemme know and I'll put it up.
He was lookin for Buakaw vs Zambidis not Buakaw vs Kozo
He doesn't train kung fu.
I do think that smaller frames sometimes find it easier to develop muscle. But because of his size, the muscle is also much more apparent.
He doesn't have copious amounts of muscle. He's just insanely well-toned imo.
Forgot what I was going to say. Look at the snaps on those roundhouse kicks. Please don't hit me with one of those..
me too
!!!!!!
it's up
i didn't mean Buakaw. i was saying, even tho two men can have smal size muscle, one can look like Buakaw, and can look like marathoner.
This is where you post a link to your shadow boxing vids and tell us about the stadium championship belts you've won.

u dont have to turn ur hip all the way over when warming up, turning ur hip over forces ur whole body to turn, he was obviously going for control
@fasioletti watch the slow mo - he clearly leads with the hips. And for those of you with the stupid know it all comments - go watch some thais throwing headkicks first - they don't turn their hips into them anywhere near as much as the body kicks. Its a different style of kick.
get over yourself - you're critiquing the guy who's widely recognised as having one of the best kicks in the world.
they say he doesn't do any weight training(not including body weight). Surely, looks different from average American dude's worked out body from gym.
yeah, foods....Definitely...but I think He might know what chocolate is by now, since he visited Japan and other countries many times.
well i guess it depends on where u train, we hardly use any weights at my gym
@fasioletti make sure you watch the rematch :-)
@fasioletti SAys the guy trying to critique buakaws kicking expertise.
Damn.. read the info box....
i agree with brazilianspiritzz. he is juz trying to share a light on muscle behaviour.....

Brabo nak muay brasil vos falo
where can i watch this fight? who won?

why would he look like a marathon runner?
its easy, all u gotta do is train 6 hours a day 7 days a week in thailand for 20 years...
@fasioletti I didn't say "he is" I said he was widely recognised as it. Big difference. And Yod is considered to have the hardest kick. His power is legendary. @fasioletti eh I fight professionally mate I hardly think I can be described as that. Sounds liek a lot more than can be said about you though.
ummm...I think Honestabe86 was jokin....but the fight was pure domination. Zambidis= owned. But u kno wut...I still respect Zambidis because he got owned by the best...and the best owns everybody. Buakaaaaaw!
don't what?
thats cuz most american guyz work out for asthetic purposes, all of buakaws workouts are specific to muscles he uses in a fight, dont need bulk, dont need lots of heavy weights
Buakaw won by domination. I don't think Zambidis landed a shot.
hey, don't be angry :) this is just a meaningless RUclips discussion about ..you said it: kicking form during a warmup ;)
lol, look at buakaw...lookin all hip hop
