    You could program an entire nights worth of tones in one freaking patch. This unit is amazing. I only bought it cuz I moved from my house into an apartment and just wanted to use headphones. What I got was everything I ever needed.

      @@GuitarNTabs Well actually I have 2 questions; can I activate/deactivate and control the looper using external foot switches? And, would you recommend RC-10R or RC-5 loop pedals? Thanks again!

      @GuitarNTabs  3 года назад +1

      @@AlbertoMorales-od1gh - Hi Alberto.
      Happy New Year.
      Thanks for getting back to me, I appreciate it.
      The Looper can only be activated by pressing the two footswitches that are set to do so, from the factory.
      An external footswitch, like the Boss FS-7, can help you assign effects and parameters, but not the Looper.
      I have no experience with those Loopers, but I would check each models' individual differences and then decide what unit I need.
      I hope this helps.
      Let me know.
      Cheers.

    After I made changes and turned power off, everything was lost. Finally I realized the WRITE function acts as a "SAVE". After making changes one wants to keep permanently, hit EXIT and ENTER simutaneously, enter into "Write" screen. Press enter a few time to go thru the screens until the end and the "executing" message will appear briefly, and that's it! Saved for good.

      Well, I tend to leave mine at 50, as default.. It seems to work well.. If I find any drop or increase in volume, when using more than one preamp type, then I will use the PREAMP's volume knob to level things out, and make it match the current model I'm using.

      A question though.. Why do you want to use the GT-1 along with Guitar Rig?? Do you want to use Guitar Rig for preamp models, or??

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  3 года назад

      @@hitlarrajbhandari - Helo again,
      The preamp models in the GT-1 I can highly recommend.
      If your 15W amp doesn't have an Effects Loop, or an AUX In, or something similar, then I wouldn't recommend using the onboard preamp models... Instead I would recommend just plugging straight into the front input, like one normally would, and use the GT-1's effects instead. Problem is, you won't get good results, when running both your own amplifier and the GT-1's preamp models, and especially not if they're not connected to the proper equipment.

      Hey there, @Paul Walker!
      Thanks for the question and comment - and the kind words! 😊
      Yes, FX1 and FX2 are the same - they are just placed at two different spots in the GT-1 signal chain - one for effects before the preamp and the other for effects after the preamp - as you say, FX1 for comp, for example, and FX2 for mod, etc.
      You can always move them around, if you wish to use them anywhere else in the signal chain.

      Yes, one footswitch can have multiple effects assigned to it, so that's no problem.

      The Mooer GE200 is a good piece of gear, but I would still recommend the GT-1. You get more versatility with the GT-1. The effects are great, and the onboard Assigns will allow you to take control over several effects and parameters! The GT-1 is certainly the way to go 😊

    Great video bro! So lemme see if I understand this, for each CTL pedal you have a number of "assignable" functions you can apply. Meaning, each pedal can toggle multiple effects on or off?

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  6 лет назад +1

      @Samuel Naidu - Hey there.
      Thank you for your comment and question - I appreciate it!
      Thanks for the kind words as well 😊
      Yes, overall...
      For each patch you have a total of 6 Assigns - A1 to A6. These assigns can either Toggle or Momentarily active any of the parameters and effects within the GT-1. So yes, one assign can activate an overdrive pedal, while another assign can turn off an effects, while a third one can alter a certain parameter, etc.
      Onboard the GT-1 you have the CTL1 - to that footswitch you can apply as many of the assigns as you want, and if you add an external footswitch - FS-6 or FS-7, then you can apply those 6 assigns to those extra switches as well.
      Allowing you, for example, to have a clean sound to begin with, then assign some effects, changes, etc. to go to an overdriven sound and perhaps a lead sound lastly. If that makes sense.
      That the overall aspect of it, yes.
      So you're able to toggle multiple effects on or off, yes.
      Let me know if you need anything else, I'd be happy to help out.
      It can be a little daunting at first, but once you've got it, then you'll be so happy!
      The possibilities are endless!
      Looking forward to hear from you.
      Cheers.

      @@GuitarNTabs Thanks for the detailed reply. Just going through all your videos and learning to use this unit. One other question... I have an amp that doesn't have an effects loop, which means I can't get the proper sound of the GT1's amps and cabinets, the sound is getting filtered through the guitar amp. Now I'm thinking I need to get another amp, one that has an effects return. Is there a way to work around this without me having to buy another amp? Oh, one other question! I noticed when I'm editing an existing patch, for example, hold down the OD button and I can choose different types of OD/Distortion and then adjust its parameters, BUT...when I hold down the delay button, I don't see the option to choose different types of delay. Where can I choose different types of delay?

      Keep it up 👍
      Well, if your amp doesn't have an FX Loop, then there's no real way to work around it.. Sadly enough..
      You could use your headphones, connected to the GT-1, instead of your amp.. and use the GT-1's onboard preamps that way.
      You could also buy a set of studio monitors, to work with the GT-1. I do that, and it sounds great - using the GT-1's preamps.
      That's correct, for most of the effects, you are able to select what type, when in that particular effects block, but for the Delay, you would have to press MEMORY-EDIT and scroll to find the Delay block, then place the cursor over that Delay block and then you'll see an option called TYPE. This will allow you to select the type of delay you want. I don't really know why Boss did that, and not like the other effects, but that's how it is 😊
      I hope this helps.

      @@GuitarNTabs I sat for hours with this unit and managed to create some good patches for church tomorrow! (actually church in 3 hours, I've been up all night! haha). Anyway, I found a way to change delay type without going into MEMORY-EDIT, once you're in the normal delay edit screen, just hold down delay and a pop-up menu will open, then while holding down delay you can scroll through the different types of delay with the left knob. You have to scroll quickly though coz the pop-up menu disappears after a few seconds if you don't scroll. So yeah, thanks for all the helpful videos man, you got me started on this unit. Hi there, Louis.
      Thanks for the comment and question.
      How you connect the GT-1 to your amp is up to you. It depends on which part of your setup you want to use - whether it's your Marshall amp or the GT-1's preamp models.
      I've heard good things about the DSL40CR so maybe you should try that first, by connecting the GT-1 to the input of your amp. Make sure to turn OFF the GT-1's preamp-button.
      Also, make sure to set the Output Select to Combo Amp. Then it's a matter of getting your Marshall dialed in, to sound the way you want it to - and then add the desired effects from the GT-1.
      If you connect through the Marshall's Effects Loop Return, then you're going to use the GT-1's onboard preamp models. Make sure to set the Output Select to Combo Amp Return and activate the preamp-button, and choose a desired preamp model.
      You could try the 5150 DRV or BGNR UB models, perhaps add an overdrive or distortion from the OD/DS section.
      Let me know what you think.

      Hi there, Dyno Pascal.
      Thanks for your comment and question, I appreciate it.
      The 3 blue footswitches can not be set up to recall individual patches or sounds, no. However, if you want a patch with multiple tones/sounds, then you can easily do that.
      You do this by using the GT-1's Assigns. With those you can start out with a clean sound, then to an overdriven/distorted sound and lastly to a lead sound.

      Hello Paul.
      Thanks for your comment and question, I appreciaet it.
      You would set up a patch so that you start with a clean sound, then use the GT-1's assign feature, to set up an overdrive/distortion pedal to be activated, or switching between preamp models, and then another assign can activate the Solo mode for the overdrive or distortion, depending on what you need.

      Nice, that's good! So you got a hold of it, or? The bass patch?
      Excellent question, really! This happens because the GT-1's input, coming into the PC/Mac, isn't quite matched to the output, after being recorded. I generally tend to just record the section I'm playing, and then adjust the output of that particular channel afterwards, when I go to export it or mix it. That seems to be the best solution.
      Also, you have the option to adjust some USB-settings, on the GT-1 itself - if you press the MENU-button. If you scroll to the end, almost, you'll see an icon called USB. Try entering that, and see what the adjustments say. In the GT-1 Manual you can find the terms and explanation of those parameters. Right off the bat I can't remember, sorry. But it's all in the Manual 😊
      Try those two things out, and then let me know what happens, okay?

      I haven't had any experience with the ME-80, so I can't really say... However, the GT-1 is more compact, in size, compared to the ME-80. The GT-1 has the same engine, effects, preamps, etc. as the GT-100, though there are a few features left out, on the GT-1 - and that makes sense, otherwise there wouldn't be any real difference....

      Hi - sorry for the late reply.
      You have to save your adjustments, each time you make a change to a patch.
      Press both the Enter and Exit buttons, at the same time. This will open up the Write menu, and here you can save your changes.
      What do you mean by "only the CTL works"? Do you want the UP and DOWN footswitches to do something different? If so, what do you want them to do?
      Thanks.
      Cheers.

      Hey there, Draiver.
      Thanks for your comment and question - I appreciate it!
      Yes, sure there is! 😊
      If you use Boss Tone Studio, then you'll be able to save and export your patches, then save them in any particular folder on your computer.
      You can also organize your patches on the GT-1 itself, simply by moving them around and saving them to different spots, so they'll end up being in order, coming right after each other.
      Is this what you're looking for?
      Let me know what you think - I'd be happy to help out further.

      Hi there,
      You can create new presets in the preset section marked with an "U".
      If you change a preset, and save it, then the previous patch is overwritten. If you wish to save that existing patch, then make sure to copy and save it to another location, within the "U" and that should be it.

    Hey , Great tutorial man !
    Im having difficulties controlling my volume when im switching between my patches. Ive made a patch for a song with a lot of overdrive and such. The next song in the set is more low key and therefore i have made a patch that matches that song. When im switching between these two patches (and all other patches in general) there is a MAJOR difference in the volume. when i turn the "patch lvl" knob to a specific level and switches back and forth it doesnt remember my setting .
    Hope you can help me :)

      @@joachimandersen6321 - Hej Joachim!
      Bingo, du gættede rigtigt! 😉 Vi tager den på Dansk.
      Hver gang du laver en justering, hvad enten det er på effekterne, eller patch level knappen, så skal ændringerne gemmes. Det gør du ved at trykke Enter og Exit knapperne på samme tid, og derved kommer ind i Write menuen. Hvis du gør det, så vil dine ændringer i patch level blive gemt.
      Andre ting som du skal være opmærksom på, når det kommer til patch volume, for at have dem nogenlunde "lige" er gain og effect level. Disse parametre er stort set i alle effekt-blokkene. Gain, fra overdrive og distortion, vil automatisk tilføre følelsen af mere volume.. Derfor er det vigtigt at gain parametret justeres, sådan at, når du aktiverer effekten, så vil der ikke være en stort forskel. Derimod, hvis du er tilfreds med mængden af gain, så er det nærmere effect level parameteret du skal kigge på, da det styrer den "overall" volume for den givne effekt - for eksempel, overdrive, etc.
      Det er som regel en god måde at gøre det på, og det vil have en betydelig påvirkning på dine patches - til det bedre.
      Jeg håber dette kan hjælpe lidt - ellers så stil endelig flere spørgsmål 😉
      Cheers.

      Hey there, Jose Rimar Roska 😊
      Thanks for your question and comment - I appreciate it!
      Yes, the UP and DOWN footswitches will switch through the different patches - that's their main feature.
      Depending on how you save your patches, and order them, you can have a distortion patch next to a clean patch, and use UP and DOWN to get to them - that's simple.
      A tip, though... By using the GT-1's Assigns, you can have both a clean and overdrive patch, all in ONE!

    Hey bro idk if you will see this comment but I have a boss rc 30 loop station and I’m planning to get the boss gt 1. So i have a question about how to hook the rc 30 and the gt 1 together. Do I hook the gt 1 to the rc 30? Or is it the other way around? And if to say I start a loop (on my boss rc 30) does the loop capture the effects with it and play back the effects of the gt 1?

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  5 лет назад +1

      @ELITE GIAN - Hi there - thanks for your comment and question! 😊
      Don't worry, I'll always see comments and questions, posted here on my videos.
      When working with a looper, you would always place the looper as the last pedal in your signal chain. So, in this case, you would have the RC-30 after the GT-1.
      Like this - Guitar --> GT-1 Input --> GT-1 Output --> RC-30 Input --> RC-30 Output --> Amplifier, or something similar to what you're going to use.
      The effects should be captured, depending on which effects are on, when recording the loop, but you should be able to activate effects as well, and get them to acts with the recorded loop 😊
      The GT-1 has a total of 99 User and 99 Factory presets, so there's plenty of space.
      All of the 99 User presets can be edited, and you can Initialize everyone of the User presets, so that you can start completely from scratch - which is what I would recommend any-way.
      I hope this helps - let me know how it goes.

      Compression, Wah, Overdrive, Distortion, etc.

      This can be caused by many different things, to be honest.. One place to look would be at the guitars pickup system/EQ.. Too much volume or even EQ, can cause things to feedback... Also, make sure the settings on the GT-1 are adjusted correctly.. Things like Output Select, gain, etc. Also, make sure the GT-1's onboard preamps are turned OFF, by pressing the PREAMP button. And lastly, your own amplifier, make sure it's adjusted correctly!

      My grandparents and family moved to America from Sorø and Bornholm before I was born. My dad married an American and I came along haha. I regret not caring to properly learn Danish because I’ve come to appreciate the language. There’s a fun sarcasm that it allows ;) Cheers from Michigan.

      Make sure you're on the User side of the patches. If you're on the P-side, you're not able to save the adjustments...

      Hi Mark,
      Anything I can help you with?
      Stomp boxes are cool, but if you're into a compact-sized pedalboard, then the GT-1 is excellent.
      Happy New Year.

    Why aren’t my settings saving? So annoyed 🥴

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  8 месяцев назад

      When you make adjustments to your patch(es) always make sure that you save the adjustments/settings.
      This is done by pressing both the Enter and Exit buttons, at the same time, then pressing Enter, until you see the "save successful".
      I hope this helps.
      Cheers.

    My love of analog just gimpy reinforced. I can’t get ANYTHING to stay programmed. I can get up to the ctl-1 but after it turns red it just stays on. Can’t toggle anything on or off or save a damn thing. It’s not worth the frustration. I could’ve built an analog preamp by the time I get these kind of ok sounding patches figured out. There needs to be a directions book. I can’t follow this guy at all.

      @@GuitarNTabs Sorry, I was just getting frustrated. I’m getting the hang of it now. The biggest problem I had was figuring out which video to start with. I could already do the obvious stuff but wasn’t sure where to start when programing patches that just have effects. I don’t use the preamps or overdrives. I basically got the gt-1 for modulation,verbs,and delays. The wah wah isn’t bad either! Volume pedal is cool, too. I’m pretty sure I have a handle on programming patches,now. Thanx!
