- The Eagle Metal Buildings 20 X 30 structure we refer to as "The Toadshop" Begins! When I chose Eagle one of the factors I took into account was the $160 fee to setup, square and erect the roof and uncovered side walls. No way at all could I pass THAT up. % men got it done in just a few hours.
It’s actually a very well written and comprehensive book ruclips.net/user/postUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 . I wanted to pair this with an updated book on local codes to start planning a post-retirement dream shop. I think I have just about everything I need between the two. The extra plans available for purchase towards the end are priced almost as much as full home plans, not little sheds however.
8 feet is pretty much standard. however, with these you can pretty much choose what’s good for you!
Know this is an older video, but just wanted to say these guys doing these are amazing in how organized and quickly they get them up. Good call on paying the extra. I used to own a steel building bizz for just under 15 years and when they came out and did mine 2 years ago, I could not have done it myself, with wholesale pricing on the metal, and saved more than a $100 over their pricing. Similar size to yours, from the time they backed into driveway to when they pulled out, 59 minutes, 3 guys. Wish these guys had been on my building crews.
I could not agree more. This crew was amazing. I do wish the metal building company survived Covid…shame. Thanks for watching a taking the time to comment!
I once contemplated rebuilding a fence around my back yard. I finally decided it would be best to let the fence company do it. These two Hispanic guys showed up early in the morning. I said to myself, ya right, no way could these two guys put my fence up in a day. After watching those guys work I said thank god I opted to have someone else do it. Was amazing to watch those guys work. Hispanics are talented craftsmen. Glad things are going well on the Toadstead!
+ScratchinMyAss Thanks for the kind words.
How much did the shed or building cost you? Also is that all that was included?
Four professional men worked for three hours (not including their travelling time) and their employer charged $160!
Given that it took that experienced professional team of four men three hours to complete the task, you obviously accepted that outstanding offer!
It would be utter madness not to have!
Good on you for supplying the crew with food and drinks, and for giving them a monetary Thank You, they'd have really appreciated your kindness.
And for your kindness, you've got a new subscriber!
Glad to have you Felix. Welcome aboard!
I like how you answered all the questions everyone asked real professional.
Thank you!
Wow that’s great!!!
Thank you very much for for sharing.
Have a great day!!!
Thank YOU for stopping by!
I love listening to the birds in the background nice proyect!!!
Thanks!
Excellent video and narrative. Cheers from Michael. Australia.
Thanks. That crew was great!
Nice! Those guys were really moving. I put up a 30X40x12 open span steel building here by myself with friends help never again way to much work add in never did it before what a head ache. Cant wait to see it all done congrats.
+TheKilog69 Thanks. We can't wait either.
I think I would've paid for it to! they did it fast , congratulations.
+Theresa Jukiewicz Thanks!
These pros make it look so simple. It takes skill to do it right though. Awesome shed!
Thanks. They did a great job.
those gentlemen hustled!!!! impressive work crew.
Thank you. They were a great bunch to work with.
Kow-A-Bunga, Toad! That was awesome! Yet another great crew to expand upon the work done by the slab layers-and-levelers. I'd say you got some bang for your buck outta this deal. The toadstead is comin along fabulously. (Buen trabajo, muchachos!)
+Jeanette Waverly Thanks!
looking good! that was a no brainer to have them install for that amount of money..
+Herb Little jr. The price WAS a pleasant surprise.
Great deal on having the frame and roof done !!!
+not2fast4u2c Thanks!
Very Smart Business Decision (!!) At my business (now retired) only erected Steel Buildings they don't deteriorate increase in value over time.
+John Talbot I'm hoping it will last as its slated to be a " hub" for other additions.
Excellent job, well done team 👍
Much appreciated!
$160.00 I would call that sum the deal of the day. awesome update.
+Rick Ballard We were happy to pay it for sure.
@@toadstead1 I hope you keep your eyes on your tools and equip. like i didn't And they left when the erectors left,,,,,
160 dollars. I would of paid thousands and would of still been happy. 160 way to cheep
That is some awesome work!!!
They did great. Thanks!
thats so awesome man, you have a killer shop ( almost)
Little by little..Thanks BMS.
Looks good and in watching them work, I think it was a wise choice to get this done for the money you paid.
+usakiwi5222 Me too. I learned a lot watching those guys.
I think those are the same guys that built my shop. (ha ha) My guys showed up at 05:45 and were done the next day by 3:00PM. They are fast! They get paid by the building so they are motivated. It looks great Toad.
+wyattoneable Thanks brother!
Yeah we get paid by the building and motivation is everything you need to get something done fast and well done.
Very nice and well worth the money to have it built. My brother in law did the same thing too..
+rchopp Can't complain. I paid what I think was a fair price and learned a LOT!
How much for the total kit? I get the $160 dollars for constructing it. My wife and I want to cover a 36' fifth wheel. You said forty by twenty feet, correct?
Congratulations, very good
Thank you!
I like building things and that looks easy to do, BUT definitely not a bad price for having it assembled for you and definitely a lot faster than you would have been able to get it done! Well worth it!
+Robert Veronda I look at the cost as paid for learning too.
Vertical roof is the way to go. Great choice.. Thumbs up!!!
Wow, exactly!
Thanks!
Worth $160 for sure. Thanks 👍
They did a fine FAST job. Thanks!
Holy Moly! Only $160!??! Some of the best money you've ever spent, I bet!
+Donna M. Schmid I think so. Especially when one considers that a was learning the whole time too.
Those guys look like they really know what they are doing. That is money will spent.
+Ann Poucher Thanks Ann.
@@toadstead1 Hi, how much does it cost ? Can we get a bigger size?
shehab-abdullah@hotmail.com
Super super good job thank you🙏💕
They did most everything on the frame build..I didn’t do much except stay out of the way and run the camera.
Hey congrats on the milestone! I'm nearing the end of my own shop build, named SuperShed, but I nearly went your route for the construction. Having a dry shell in one day is so awesome. I look forward to seeing how you finish it out! If you get a moment, check out my workshop build videos. Thanks
+The Appalachians Thanks and best of luck!
They were great....I know my roofers when I had it done was amazing had them remove three previous roofs and start from scratch, which was a chore in itself, and they did the entire house, I have two story, and garage in under 6 hours....
+Dallas_Red It IS nice to have good workers. Thanks!
We had a RV cover installed, boy they are fast we gave them 100.00 tip was well worth it.
Well DONE!
Rickbo, your the man! Good tipper, yippee
Hi, how much dose it cost you ?
Eli had a barn unite like that put up , it didnt take long ! THATS AWESOME BRO
+Theredneck Prepper Thanks Red.
Muy buen trabajo y mas por que mi tio esta ay 😍 felicidades tio 😘
Love the angled roof so to install guttering and I'd be happy to pay the guys a couple of thousand to erect the shade structure.
Thanks. They sure did a great job.
nice looking building
+Yankee Liv'n Thanks!
Very nice fabrication frame construction works
Glad you like it
4 guys for 3 hours = 12 man hours. 160/12=13.33 per hour. That includes all benefits. Plus they supplied the tools. You got an incredible deal. In my area it's about $800 to install.
I can’t complain one bit!
@@toadstead1 Hmm I can not understand the price. These workers came from the guy that you bought the premade steel structure. Maybe the price was included in the buy and the installation was actually offered free or at cost (160)!
$7,000 for a install of a 25x30 2 door garage in 2023
Good job bro.regards from Turkey
Thanks 👍
Thanks, great video
Glad you liked it!
It is looking good, you are giving me ideas.
+buzzsah Thanks, that's what it's all about!
Great job, excellent offer, anybody would pay $160 that was perfect.
Ahh, the good ‘ol days, huh? Done BC (before Covid)
I did mine 20x28 and would have gladly paid 160!
But, it's like installing a greenhouse... ;-)
Thanks. We are pretty happy with it.
amazing working
The crew was fantastic. Thanks!
Nice job 👍😎
Thanks 👍
Smoking deal for $160.00 like you said a no brainer . Are you going to do the walls doors and windows ??? Two garage doors would be cool some large windows and a standard door . Looks great . I hope you can get a buddy to fly a drone overhead and take some pics of the Toadstead it would be really cool to see how it progresses . I really dig it , Gerry
+krazy45cat Likely a 16 by 8 door and one people door on the side for now. Thanks Gerry.
Hi , can you advise on the spacing between the metal frames...4' ?
Ours are 5 FT on Center. Thanks!
Very very good job
Yes, thank you. This crew was great.
I found that , you can't beat Hard Working Mexican people ....
They are appreciated :D
Don’t know for sure they were Mexican..but they sure did a great job!
@@toadstead1 yes, they áre mexicans, I heard mexicans words that only mexicans says
Toadstead Project believe me there Mexicans , am Mexican we can tell , the accent, the Central Americans accent is deferent
Power Mexican pride hell yeah 🇲🇽
I'm building a 24 x 31 with 10 foot storage in the back with concrete floor. Why did you leave the forms on the concrete while they were putting up the building ?
I just did. They were removed before the doors/siding were installed.
Proud of my paisanos always working hard!
indeed!
Turned out well.
thanks
Are there any braces to go on for high wind stability?? to prevent Wind & Racking of the stauncions. Cheers from Michael. Australia.
The roof purlins stiffen the roof a LOT. After I added the sides and ends it became ROCK solid.
In 3 hours that’s insane
They got it DONE!
A six man crew arrived to remove a large pine that fell on my rear patio. They cut up the tree, removed all debris, and left a clean work site, all in 40 minutes. The guys worked hard, all Hispanics. That $160 you spent to assemble your structure is a deal!
Outstanding! Good work is good work..whomever does it.
Nice work
Thanks for the visit
Good idea I like it
Thank you!
How much was the building and how much was the slab if it’s okay to ask?
Building (as seen in the vid) was just under 2K and the slab was 2.5K (including dirt work)
really good !
Thanks
Good job
The crew was great. Thanks!
Buen trabajo!!!!
Thanks!
@@toadstead1 can I ask you where you found this setup in the first place. As far as all the tubing and everything.
@@toadstead1 I'm just looking for something that I can take somewhere of the shtf.
Where could a person purchase a setup like this? And if you have a price range of what this would run would also help?
I bought mine thru a local steel building place (now defunct, sad). The building as seen in the video was just under 2K not counting the dirt work and concrete.
Is this just going to be a roof or are you going to add sides, doors and widows? I just ordered a garage from Viking Metal Buildings. Very similar frame structure. How is yours holding up? Where are you in the country?
Thank you for sharing!
There’s at a bunch of videos showing the shop finished and in use. Including the “Schizophrenic Shop” series.
Nice job. What is the material for the square tubings? Are they galvanized?
All steel. Galvanized.
@@toadstead1 thanks buddy. So how does it happen... Galvanised tubing gets welded or galvanized after tubing gets welded.
Dude, I totally get the time/money thing. Over here, there's no way you could hire a crew to do that for $160.
Agreed. Much more and I would have done it myself, but for THAT price..
I wonder if I can remove the roof of my garage and install one of these on top.
I don’t see why not, as long as it’s attached VERY well!
@@toadstead1 what was the name of the company you purchased this product from?
Hey man where did you get the materials? Do they have a website? If not, what do they call it? I'm trying to do a very similar project, thanks in advance
I’m sorry, the company I used is no longer in business. I would start with your local metal supplier, ask questions and go from there. It’s pretty much a heavier duty version of the metal carports seen all over the place.
Mi raza como siempre bien trabajadora.....
indeed
Who did you buy this building from? or a link to their company.
The company is now out of business, unfortunately..
There used to be a group just north of me that built steel homes. There were built a lot like this. They could lift one end of the house up & it wouldn't bend or torq. They make great buildings. I onced looked into getting a steel framed weekend home.
You could do a lot worse than these. It was a no brainer to pay for them to erect the building.
You might want to consider this method for your Toadstead house.....LOL
+1timby It does work pretty good. Don't think I could live in one due to code issues.
Toadstead Project Hmm even if you add amenities such as wiring , plumbing, & insulations? Not sure the difference between this and a regular homes. We had a group that sold them here. You couldn't tell the difference between them & a regular house. Gosh a mobile home isn't built as well as that thing....LOL
Agreed. I never really asked, but I do know they powers that be VERY much frown on these as homes..
Fire and wind resistant homes
Very nice
Thanks
Sweet job!!
What company in Texas was this? I really like the way this one went together & appears to be stout enough materials!!
Thanks!
company gone now
Hey man do you have any drawings or pics for the toad shed?
There’s another video on my channel that shows the inside more. It’s 2 1/2x2 1/2 “studs” on 5 foot centers.
❤ super and ESI thank you very much
One can only imagine the actual cost of installation was bundled in the price of the shed & you paid a $160 delivery fee. How much was that nice shed?
As seen, (no dirtwork or concrete) just under 2K
are you going to do an uptdate on the pigs?
+living life Oh yeah.
How much was that thing all together just the way it stands
Just under 5K, concrete here is high. (Almost 1/2)
What company did you use? Was it Cardinal?
Best technology to built a shed.
V. Good.
I haves to agree. It’s still going strong today.
What's impressive is you found workers that run to get a job done. Those are some bust ass hands.
These guys ROCKED.
Looks good do you mind telling how much did it coust ?and where did you buy it?who is the supplier thanks
Total, when DONE (another video of the finished shop is on here) it was around 5K..THIS phase was around 2K
@@toadstead1 I'm trying to build one any recommendations thanks
Nice 👍👍👍
Thanks
What did the building cost? Thanks for sharing!
I asked but didn't read the comments. Thanks for the response!
Where did you order it?
All good
The company is gone now, I’m afraid.
do you have the guys info that you went through for ordering this barn I am very interested and I live in panhandle of texas 115 miles NE of amarillo TX
The people I use are in Slidell La. Perhaps they can steer you to a local dealer. Here is their number. (985) 641-0793
Great !
How did you ensure the slab fit the building?
Cost?
measured beforehand. 5K all told. slab, building, walls, doors etc.
The men work hard .
Yes, as well as fast and very professional.
God trimakasih im from indonesia ,(bali)
Thanks!
Very nice. What was the company you bought this from?
out of business, sorry
Can i ask what is the distance of each post?
5 feet
Can I please ask how much did this cost you, total price, perfect size?
You may ask, however the 5K US dollars won’t help much. the prices have gone up considerably. Sorry.
I'm in Texas. Where do you live and what company did you use?
Sorry, it was a Louisiana company now out of business.
do you need permit to do this in your property ? what Estate ? tnks
I did where I live. Question for your local authorities.
Where can I get. One and dose it have side walls
Look for a good metal carport dealer and ask, Mine does have side walls/doors now. There’s an update video on my page.
If you don't mind, how much was that building to buy...
The building as seen was around $1800. Dirtwork, concrete, around 2K. Doors and the walls, all installed by me and a couple friends. Total around 5K
In three hours. Thats great
they rocked!
What company info and how much this please. This is what i needed same size
This particular company closed over a year ago, sorry.
i got one of those structures .. mine is 14 by 24 a friend of mine traded me ... i rototilled his garden in trade for it i have all the tools for the job but hell yes i would pay 160 for them to come here and assemble it for me . i havent put mine up yet but i do know he had problems with the metal roof condensating and dripping so i plan on stretching tyvek over the frame before i put the roof on
13.33 an hour is what each of those 4 guys made ... it doesnt seem possible that their would be a contractor that would do it for that price with the cost of overhead ... comp . insurance . tool maintence and replacment ... here it would be about a 700 dollar job
There was an available "bubble wrap" style insulation, but it was out of my budget.
I don't know how they are paid. I do know they put up at least 3 buildings that day. Perhaps their pay is not JUST what I paid the company?
It's hard to fight things by yourself. I'd pay these guys to assemble a building also.
What was the total cost foundation included?
A little over 5K
@@toadstead1 no way, really?
They installed mine 20'x30' pretty fast about 2.5 hrs. Just the roof and the legs.
same here. still doing the do 4-5 years later
Looks like it's all ready tor the offset smoker grill, tables and chairs. And 160 for erecting it? Cheap at twice the price.
+David Sharrow LOL. I'll be happy to see a table saw, router table, etc...
