24:40 - What an amazing move to use the Diplomat to go around having to use 24 dice pips and take out the Resistance. Just got the game and this video explained everything very well. Thanks Tom!
Excellently stuff Tom! I only play games solo and I'm fairly ancient so learning rules seems to be harder these days. Watched both your multi player and solo playthroughs several times and they're very helpful, so thank you.
Can confirm, it's the mysterious new future and I'm compelled by mysterious forces to watch another of your videos, or presumably Le Roy will be behead me.
In the new printable solo Rules on BGG it states that when Le Roy places a meeple he doesn’t stop until he’s able to expel your meeple. So if his initial die/color can’t expel you on that building he will go to the next building based on his preference order. Is that not correct? And thanks 🙏🏾 for the play!!
Thanks for the playthrough. Aren't you supposed to score the remaining character cards in *addition* to the normal scoring at the end of the game? E.g. minus points cathedral, citizens on activity cards, etc. You only scored the remaining character cards in your game.
After a couple of plays I took the resistance card out. The general consensus is that it really messes with the balance of the game, and I have to agree.
At 16:45, you beat the Skirmishers, but you didn't give yourself the 3 influence! And you forgot to pick up LeRoy's meeple out of the Bishopric when you cleaned up at the end of the 3rd round, which hurt you. Besides that, loved the playthru! I just love this game and I love how easy the solo is. I was wondering if you had printed out the updated solo rules, because the one in the box is wrong. Guess you did figure that out.
Sorry, but on the first event drawing phase, weren't you supposed to draw another yellow? Resistance told you to do red and that one to do yellow... If not I played it wrong. Thank you for this. I can finally play Troyes solo.
@@slickerdrips yeah, makes sense. In this play you have missed quite a few influence gains for you. I think you would do a lot better. i think i counted that you missed 5 in total. Thank you, again, for this play.
@@nuuqbgg Hi Bob! You are correct. It was already noted in the Klingon subtitles at 1:21. Also be sure to note the subtitle at 1:31 and 13:17 where a cube does not come off the Resistance card itself.

It’s best not to displease him 😂
Arent characters supposed to be face up so you can plan for them some? Loved the playthrough as well
Yes. The solo rules in my second edition even have a small picture with that step of the setup.

does Le Roy get point when the places cubes in the Cathedral?
At 19:55, wouldn't your meeple be the one kicked out, since they slide to the right?
Hi, thanks for the playthrough! Just one question - does Le Roy get points for putting cubes in the cathedral?
Oh, ok, got to that part. :) For a moment I was hoping that Le Roys last win against me was unfair. :P
Where does one get the personal board?

What kind of card are the player boards printed on? Did you get it done professionally or do it yourself?
Did it myself with an inkjet printer, it’s just craft card from a supermarket :) I think the printer was set to highest quality
Is its expansion essential for Solo play?
The solo rules are included in the base game, so no. Technically, nothing in the expansion should be used in the solo game.

Hi Bob! I believe you’re right about that, I think this was one I forgot 🙂

I finished my first game only 4 points behind Le Roy, and frankly that feels like a win.
