My favorite quality of Home Free is how they are so humble. When they collaborate, they sit back and support the original artist and never try to outshine them. So very respectful. Another great reaction from you. Love them!!

I've always loved this song and Home Free has made me love it even more. Don still sounds wonderful and Rob...wow! Bonus, we get to hear Adam's sweet voice. Thanks for the Home Free reactions.

This is such a great song by Don McLean! He originally did it in 1972. What a great remake with Home Free! Rob's voice is perfect for this song. Such a beautiful tribute to the sad life of the painter Vincent Van Gogh. He suffered from depression & committed suicide. He never saw any success during his life. But now his paintings are worth millions of dollars.

This song came out in 1972? when I was a junior in high school. Dare I say this is better than the original! Home Free gave the song the depth and warmth it needed. Don still sounds amazing, Rob’s voice was perfect for this and Rob and Austin’s harmonies are magical! Love their 5 part harmonies. Perfection! Thank you for another wonderful reaction! #HomeFree

I really like your reactions. Home Free and Don do an excellent rendition of this beautiful song .Have you reacted to Austin's solo cover of "Georgia on My Mind" ? At the very end of the song he pronounces Georgia - "Gawgia". He is a true Georgia boy.

I've always loved Don's original recording of this beautiful homage but his collaboration with Home Free has become my favorite rendition. I hope HF and Don make T-shirts or some kind of merch with the painting of them together in the video to commemorate this amazing collaboration. Lovely reaction, as always, thank you.

"Vincent" was on Don's "American Pie" (thumb flag) album. It was the second Single off that album.

They also did American Pie with Don McLean ( amazing). They did it for 50th anniversary of the song release and won 3 Telly Awards. Don McLean also just released a new album called American Boys and Home Free is featured on the title track.
I don’t if you been told Home Free announced Austin will be leaving in July and Adam Bastien Aka Bastien will be taking his place.
Bastien used to sub for one of the tenors when Home Free first started and also was a member of Chris Rupp's group 7th Ave
Bastien will be doing his first concert with Home Free at The Grand Ol Opry July 31

This is so very beautiful. Don McLean still has a beautiful voice. He is 78! He also did American Pie back in 1972. He also had Home Free collaborate on that one to a couple of years ago. If you have not, please check it out. Love your reaction!

Home Free are the perfect collaborators. They always ensure the guest(s) have the limelight and provide incomparable singing & harmonies. There's no beatboxing in this one; however, in their rendition with Don McLean of his classic "American Pie" Adam's beatboxing is just perfect. They also have collaborations with Kenny Rogers, Alabama, twice with the Oak Ridge Boys and Texas Hill ("Dreamer Live"). I love that at the end they're literally absorbed in the painting.

What inspired Don to write this song was, he read the biography of Vincent VanGogh &, was so touched by it. He wrote this amazing song.‼️💕

It's so amazing that Don has asked Home Free to collaborate on the re-recording of his two most iconic songs. This is so gorgeous. And they also backed him on the title track on his new album, American Boys. There's an audio only version on Don's channel. It's a bop.

I haven't listened to the rest of the album, but I really enjoy that track. Don's wordplay reminds me of what Austin and Andrew did in Remember my Name with all of the 'hidden' references to the three artists.

It was a stroke of genius to use the guitar without additional percussion. I love watching the shifting paintings behind them. Rob rises to the occasion. Glad you liked it.

Don wrote this after reading a book about Van Gogh. Most books in the early 70's declared that Vincent was insane. as the mental health struggles of the artists were still very misunderstood. But Don saw him as a misunderstood person who, as you said, saw the world in a different way. Don wrote in an effort to describe the paintings of Van Gogh while explaining how he saw the artist and he did a fabulous job!

It's actually Don McLean's Vincent as accompanied by HomeFree...
I am really amazed that you did not know this song. Maybe it was a bit more popular in Europe than in the US back in the day?
Or it lasted longer, given the fact that when it came out, I had just been born, so there's reason to believe I remember it from later on.
I was always quite fond of this song, but HomeFree's version makes me cry every time I hear it. Also love the fact that it's Rob doing HF's solo parts here. HIs voice is so beautiful, and this song really suits him well. Ah well, and of course Don McLean still sounds amazing.
For me the best HomeFree song I have heard in a while.

This performance also "complements" Van Gogh's work. How one artist in one genre can inspire another work in another genre entirely is a mystery of creativity. Both the song and the paintings expose truths to us that we may not want to face directly. Home Free has the sensitivity and skill to help us make a connection to McLean and to Van Gogh.

Watching the video, keep in mind it was done during lockdown, so they recorded separately. The 'behind the scenes' video shows that Tim and Austin, as well as producer and/or engineer Darren Rust, were both in studio when Don recorded his part, so it was not as fully enforced separation as the Sea Shanty Medley was.

Constant interruptions to comment in the flow of the song is poor form and could be done after as REACTING* implies.
