I'd replace the oak backsplash with tiles or something else. And change the appliance. The black does not work

To me this looks v early-mid 90s, the paint looks peach?
Sweet Potato Soul is much more cultural and quirky than this kitchen. I love that its natural (love the concept) but the execution is far too basic and generic.

The black / gold of the cabinet handles, but then with some of the black / chrome to me just feels like they clash -- but err it's not my kitchen and she seems to like it. Also being vegan makes her happy (so she is who she is), but the whole vegan mantra marketing: Studies show, yes, plants know when you are eating them, they are living entities too... We don't eat them when they are rotten, we eat them because they are living... Just because they are not sentient doesn't mean that they deserve less of our respect and consideration (my point is it's part of being human to consume). So when vegans espouse vegan "marketing" that they are doing "better" for "the planet" they are not recognizing the homeostasis is part of the nature = balance. Where our entire eco-system is consumption/renewal, etc (which is part of nature); animals consume, plants consume -- this is the cycle of life. We also need animal proteins we are animal-based... extremists diets like vegan lifestyle is not balanced and not natural, and there are studies that show if the whole world became vegans it would be unbalancing to nature's homeostasis.
