- The first official LEGO Star Wars brickfilm, from 2002. Also, at the time, the first licensed Star Wars short since 1977. Best quality version available, remastered from source by the creators Spite Your Face Productions.
Just an old Star Wars film released in it's original edit with a digital picture clean-up. No big deal. Happens all the time, right?

I remember seeing this on the official Lego Star Wars site years ago. They also had some special gallery there, like their other ones users could submit their creations to, but this one was all only scenes from the movies re-created by users and then ordered correctly. The one for episode 3 was always "coming soon" years after the movie came out until the whole site got revamped and those were all done away with.
I remember that and loved looking at it as a kid. I even did a scene for episode 3. A shame it never happened.

I remember watching this on the lego site's star wars section when it was released there.
I watched this at least 100 times when I was a kid. It’s a huge inspiration for why I started doing my own animations. Thank you for sharing! :)

I remember watching this on the LEGO site in like 1st/2nd grade.. I would watch it like every day after school
17 - 16 years since I first saw it as a kid growing up in Whitehaven, and it still holds up. I didn't know the guys behind Monty Python in LEGO were responsible for this, however. The more you know...
Also, I just noticed this, but the music of this short has a very similar sound to Jeremy Soule's scores for the Star Wars videogames Bounty Hunter and Knights of the Old Republic. I didn't make the connection as a kid despite playing Bounty Hunter a lot on my PS2, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did the music for this short as well.

When i was a child i watched this every single day, probably i watched it three times a day. It was incredible stop motion short. And now with 21 years old it still seems magical to me

Wasn’t made as a figure yet in the time. This released in 2002. Our first Lando figure, which was the first black figure fun fact, released the year following in 2003.

All the sound effects are from the Lucasfilm sound library, and the music is original to the film. So it's just like official "wookie sound 003" or whatever. Any similarity to somethingsomething Yahoo is likely coincidence.

I actually found the game I was referring to. It was an old Yahoo game called Super Collapse. The sound effect at 1:53 is also used in that game. 😆
