Heey, I have some questions about the dress!! Can you help me? I love Katara and I want to cosplay her, but I don't know how to do her dress :/ Is the dress like a kimono, so I can roll it? Or is the dress stitched? I mean, how is the right and the left side? Thankss
Hi! So the way I made it was that both sides are stitched together - it's basically a dress with really big cuts up the sides of the legs. I think you could definitely do it as a kimono though with fastenings on each side, you'd just have to make sure only one of the front pieces has the skirt attached though as otherwise you'll have double skirt at the front! I only made it as a dress so that I used less material and didn't have as many pieces to deal with. (As I was making it really quickly with both a tight budget and deadline!!) I hope that answers your question? Let me know if there's anything else! :)
Thank you, It was very difficult to make seeing as I had no footage from the actual process of making it! Your cosplays are amazing! Maybe one day i'll be able to make something half as good as yours! It's definitely really interesting to watch and learn more about how other people make their costumes, and how they document it so thank you :)
hello! i really want to do cosplay but i cant do sowing AT ALL a and i dont really have alot of money for it. i have never cosplayd before but i really wanna try! it seems really fun to do! i really want to do katara! but i saw thats its really hard to make the costume when you cant sow anyhing.. so i think ill just stick to something simple... like Muge from a wisker away or something... but if you have any tips, please tell me!
That's so cool that you want to do cosplay! Yes it can be quite difficult to make things from scratch, there are many online tutorials on how to sew, but it can be quite expensive to get the materials and a sewing machine! I always find the easiest and cheapest ways to cosplay are to find clothes that already look similar to characters clothes and then make small alterations. Then hopefully you can progress to making more difficult things! I hope it goes well for you :)
Not very well to be honest! I was just using a strip of fabric wrapped round my wrist and fastened with velcro at either end, which didn't hold very well at all. I want to redo it at some point, my idea is to get two tube grip/support bandages (like you would wear on your wrist or ankle for support after an injury), dye them blue, and then wrap around the fabric I used before and stitch it in place. It had been my initial idea to get a support bandage in the first place but I made the costume really last minute and just didn't manage to get any in time! I hope you manage to find a solution!

@@GabriellaFitzGerald thanks a lot for the tips! i really appreciate it!
I wished you filmed all the prep that you talk about in the materials part. It's really hard to wrap my head around it without the visuals
I wish I had too! Sadly didn't think about making the video until afterwards 😢
HOW did you secure the arm thing I'm struggling :(
