I did it! I bought Dalgona hand tied as my first wig. Because of the knots I chose a highlighted color though I love and am a brunette…. Hope to get a banged brunette next! It’s so scary to go out with a wig on the first time!
Team Dalgona 16 hand tied. Principally because of the fit and look of hand tied. I think that the more natural movement you get from hand tying is especially important in longer styles. My bet would be that you would also choose that one. You can always put tighter curls in it when you inevitably have to refresh.
I have Wavy Day in Shaded Cappuccino and I love it, but Dalgona 16 is on my wish list because of the hand tied cap, lack of permatease, and the layering around the face. I think both are excellent options depending on your budget and your head/face shape! For me, it’s sounding like the Dalgona will work better for my own bougie wig preferences, but I still love my Wavy Day, especially since friends gifted it to me!
I'm team Wavy Day all day long ;) I have one in Shaded Biscuit and I've worn her many times without having to touch up the style. She doesn't have much if any frizz right now, but she is due for her first wash and when I do that I will apply some heat the the ends to seal them up and bring her back to her original glory. She's one of my fav wigs that I have :)
Dalgona. I do not have Wavy Day, but I have 2 Simmer Elites. I love them, but they tangle so easily. I wear them both straight now as they needed heat desperately after a few months. I ordered my first Belle Tress wig recently, Mui and I absolutely love the Belle Tress Fibers. I have worn Mui every day for several weeks and have had zero tangles that I could not easily be removed by running my fingers through her. As much as I love RW styles I think I will be mostly ordering Belle Tress moving forward due to the superior fibers. Now, they just need to add velcro adjusters to the Lux collection. You look amazing in both. Thanks for your inspiring videos.
Question: When a wavy wig gets where it needs heat will it REALLY go right back to the way it was when you got it? 2nd: When do you start the mandatory heat process that removes the style but make the fiber go exactly back to the way they were when you got them. Thank you for your help with this confusion.
Excellent review of both....I had Dalgona it was too much hair for me. Wavy day & simmer are great styles, but we need RW brand to make the fibers last like BT🤎
I'm just trying to choose my first wig, and both of these are candidates. If they had a baby, it would be my perfect wig!! :D I love all the features of the Dalgona hand-tied cap except the nape. I've been trying to find a cap without wefting and as few seams as possible, as I have an inflamed scalp. I'm concerned about sensitivity and friction. But, Wavy Day is more beautiful overall I think, and wish there was an option with more of a bang. Who knew this was such a complicated process??? Honestly haven't seen a wig yet that didn't look great on you Amanda and you seem to be able to pull off pretty much any color. Thanks for sharing with us.
I am definitely Team Dalgona 16" Hand-tied! I love BelleTress fibers compared to Raquel Welch (HairUWear) because they last longer. Unfortunately, because of my 22.5 circumference, I can't wear Dalgona 16" Hand-tied 😢
I'd pick wavy day. I like that it has the monofilament top but still some permatease, which I need. The colour is so gorgeous and natural looking. And shoulder length fits everyone. I don't think those curls would be hard to recreate.
I am definitely Team Wavy Day, but I have also said this before, you wear anything you put on very well. ❤ I'm pretty sure that Dalgona 16" hand tied would be your favorite - have a lovely day!
I like Dalgona 16 hand tied but I don't think the cap would fit I'm average large with bio hair that's thinning a lot do you think Jon Renau hand tied caps are roomier or another brand? 💖
My guess for you, Miss Amanda is Dalgona! I became a Wavy Day fan back in November! She is my absolute dream hair piece in shaded biscuit. But I feel that you’ve sold me on Dalgona, because of the great details. So I think my new goal is now Dalgona!!! I’m team Dalgona🎉🎉🎉
I've bought both and had to send them back. Bought Wavy Day in SS Cappuccino but it was too cool of a color for me and wig was too big. I bought Dalgona 16 in the warmer Honey Chai latte and lived the wig but color was too yellow. I'm a 20" I want low density, wavy (could be a bit longer) wig. Light reddish brown hair with dramatic blond highlights. I like mocha cream butbits a bit to dark.
Have you heard any comments about the Canadian site having fewer choices of colour? I'm finding in particular the brunettes to be limited. I need an 8 or higher, so medium to light brown.
Definitely Dalgona. Questions for you. Do you have a favorite fiber in wigs? I have a Noriko, EW, and Estetica wigs. I love my Blues but Noriko and Estetica feel softer than EW. I was just looking more closely at the caps today and the Estetica cap seems to be more delicate between the welts to the point I’m afraid my hair brush can catch and rip it. Not sure how the other brands compare. Do you have any advice on regular fiber and cap construction?
I don’t have a favorite but EW and BT fibers are very fine and soft compared to others. I don’t find the Estetica cap more delicate but do recommend using only a wide tooth comb and never a brush with synthetic wigs. 😊
I own two Dalgona 16, I didn't care for the lacefront, I had one in Brown Sugar Sweet Cream, which is my favorite color ,and RootBeer Float. I found that the dark knots showed too much. Could be that I had a defected wig. I think I will try the Wavy Day.
@@chiquelwigsI have Simmer Elite and really like the feel of the hand tied cap. I bought Dalgona 16 on sale recently but it not a hand tied cap. I will definetly buy another in hand tied version.
That's a hard choice I'm 60 years old for me personally I can't pull off longer wigs and the itchy nape of dalgona would be concerning for me I would go for wavy day I generally pull my hairback On just about every wig because to me less of the bulkiness around the face looks less wiggy..... If I chose the dalgona I'd have to do something with the nape and I would definitely trim off the ends to be more of a wavy day length because there's no purpose there's pros and cons to both😊
Omg! I trimmed the bangs on RW show stopper and the do want to stick straight out. I don’t think I trimmed them too short, maybe 1/2” but I don’t know how to fix them. Is it possible?
@@chiquelwigsno I tryed that it just doesn't work. The bangs won't stay down. Great video review! I'm curious about hand tied but isn't it itchy? That's my biggest concern
Same here! Exactly trimmed the bangs on RW and now the stick up off my forehead! Nothing works besides a hair clip to keep then down. So frustrating 😢I wish I had known and I would have left the bangs alone 😔
Hey!❤ I don’t. No filters or altered images as I don’t want to ruin the integrity or any colours I’m showing. I always just stand in front of a window and have natural light on me ❤
You are just adorable! I actually don't dread the effort of the wig hunt when I watch your channel. Believe it or not, I have nearly the same head measurements as yours. Except, I am even shorter in my 'ear to ear' ( 10"!). Nothing fits. Absolutely nothing. Anyways, maybe one day you can do a tutorial on how to fit petite heads? I need a hairline and after folding the eartabs underneath the cap (eartabs always land too low and too far backwards, ending up directly on top of my ears) and with a '3" finger" rather than a '3" finger' tall forehead, I end up with a messed up hairline . Plus, I end up having to stuff the excess space on top around the crown area with huge sized padded bra cups or shoulder pads. The knots around the ears always cause immediate skin rashes and the rough lace often used at the hairline itch terribly. The wigs end up unwearable for me. Ellen Wille may fit better than most but she makes wigs too thin. Her wefts are visible in the back of the head on many of her styles. I am unsure why any name brand wig company would ever produce a wig like that? Makes no sense. I wish Belle Tres and Raquel Welch made many smaller sizes than they do. The smaller sizes are easier to make fit on my smaller head although , the fit is still quite imperfect. But, again, I run the risk of buying a wig that is obviously not my hair when wefts can be seen through the hair fibers in the back of the head. That problem seems to be the case on too many of her styles which makes me reluctant to buy anymore of hers even though she has the most in smaller fittings. It is such a dilemma on what to do. Each brand of wig has so many different kinds of caps which often makes styles fit significantly different from the other. Making an educated purchase is nearly impossible. It should be a law to include ALL of the wig's measurements for each wig design in their labels using a standardized format similarly to how packaged foods have to list their ingredients . Some people will not ever look at or care about the label but others may have reasons for their scrutiny. The circumference is NOT the only necessary measurement needed to determine how a wig will fit. Tightening the bra straps in a wig does very little in reducing the excess space elsewhere in a wig. Imagine a female with average sized breasts and she buys a bra based on her ribcage measurements. Ummm, there could be a problem if she thinks a 34" FF bra will work out for her 32" C size. She can tighten the strap around her ribcage and possibly shorten the shoulder straps but, then what? Lol can you imagine her wearing that adjusted size bra underneath a form fitting dress? Yeah, that will not be a good day for her to speak at a seminar full of professionals! An ill fitting wig is no less troublesome. Tightening the circumference of a wig designed for larger heads that additionally, are designed for people with hair rather, than those without hair is nearly a useless selling feature. The medical type wigs are made smaller and with more natural head dimensions but their cost is prohibitive for many, if not for most who need hair replacement. The lack of transparency in the construction and sizing from one wig cap to another serves the manufacturers and possibly, the retailers. Not having clearly labeled sizing, often coupled with a "no return" policy or subjected to significant "restocking fees" for wig returns appears to be an industry wide scam. i feel this lack of transparency needs to be changed for the protection of the consumers. I very rarely rant about much of anything but, this matter is the leading issue of my daily life and is very debilitating. I will stop my fussing and just enjoy the remainder of your show. I will say that your personality lifts my spirits and helps to make my wig hunting 😢 journey less arduous and notably more palatable for me to continue this exploration. You really are fun to watch! I'm sure I'm not the first...but you know who your doppelganger is...Mandy Moore! Not just in appearance but in voice tone, too. My doppelganger is Allison Janney...been hearing it all my adult life...
😊 I have heard that before

Does your smoke alarm need a new battery? Love your videos … distracted by the beep!
Ha! Yes. I changed it. 😊
@@chiquelwigs I often recommend your videos to others beginning their “wig journey” due to hair loss. Thanks for sharing and helping us figure this out!
@@JoAnneTutch thank you so much!
Blond dalgona. I like wavy day, but those are too dark,
I am starting my wig journey but I don’t like any of the styles they make. They’re so trendy and I am very conservative . Pixie , bobs , those loose curls. … I just want something for normal ppl who work 8 hrs a day and move a lot and wear crocs. I am so lost.
There are plenty of pixies and bobs on their website.
We must be honest- heat friendly fibers last about 20 wears? not many more. They will never get back to where they were.
I have some that have lasted years, with heat and regular conditioning. 😊
