Another chapter that I love. It was so funny, before I was writing on paper, I was writing in the air, trying to communicate. HA! I was in the CVCICU for 3 days. I had two large chest tubes (left and right) and two smaller tubes (left and right), which the larger tubes were removed just in a few days, and the smaller ones were removed 2 weeks after I came home. That was my first walk at 1:31, at 10 AM, about 19 hours after surgery. No oxygen, no breathing tube, nothing. I walked half that hallway and back. I remember Jenny Berry (pre-transplant coordinator) got me those balloons at 1:49. I never was able to thank her, because I haven't seen her again since prior to transplant. The step down unit is actually the pulmonary floor over on 6C. After surgery wasn't bad, I just had back spasms, which were controlled by a higher dosage of pain medication. I never vomited or anything like that. As you see from my incision at 3:05, I had no redness or anything, it healed up great. The tightness at the upper part of my chest just felt like a tight band wrapped around my chest. I had that sensation for about a month or so after transplant. The more exercise, the better. HA HA at 3:45. I had no problems (even when I came home) of emptying my drainage tubes. I was out of the hospital in 9 days, it would have been 8, but my white blood cell count was high and they wanted to make sure it was the medication and nothing else, which it was. They gave me the choice to go home on day 8, but told me if anything was wrong, I'd have to come back. I wasn't crazy, I stayed. That would have been a pain to come back and get re-admitted.

I have CF and if you can't tell by my user I am Muslim I will have to go through a double lung transplant sometime in my life sometimes CF patients don't even have to go through them but insha Allah God willing I will not have to endure this a prayer for those who are in during a double lung transplant a prayer for those About to go through a double lung transplant and a prayer for those who have a lung disease like myself Oh Allah you are the most merciful you are the most kind you are the most caring so I pray for those with lung conditions and terminal illness like myself I pray that you will heal them and heal me and others oh Allah I pray for those you are recovering from lung transplants I pray for those who are on the operating table right now for lung transplants I pray for those have not gone through a transplant before such as myself that through your will we may avoid it because you know best what may seem like a curse can be a blessing I pray that you will give strength to those in during a transplant and in during a terminal illness you have done that for me so I pray that you will do the same for others please answer my prayer and Dua amen

Amin brother in faith...I have same problem..I need double lung transplant and still waiting for call.I have bronchieactisis,similar like CF but not same.

Does bronchiectasis damaged both of lungs or one lung

My brother Ujjwal deep is suffering from covid from past 2 months and now he is in very critical situation, his lungs is fully damaged and we need to transplant his lungs and for that we need a big amount of money which is 80 lacs😢 please help us🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
