I made this tonight. It’s sensational, very creamy, lemony and vanilla-y, melt in the mouth, divine. I had 2 helpings and am now semi comatose on the sofa. If you don’t hear from me again, I died happy.
Am a sweet tooth myself... so I have full understanding of your comatose 😂... When I try to make this, however, I wld rather cut up the bread to half the size from what is shown.. as I have a rather small mouth and wld also prefer bitesize already so I dpnt have to keep on cutting through it with my fork or a knife..
Just made this and two of us ate it in one sitting. The lemon zest really made this recipe - so nice to get those lemony pops of flavour! I added nuts and raisins for extra texture and flavour and that worked great. Bravo Nigella!
I really enjoy watching Nigella. I discovered her Christmas special on here 5 years ago and been a fan ever since. Her recipes aren't too difficult to make either.
While I can understand her easily, I appreciate the fact that there are subtitles. Since some people are complaining, you could do the optional ones where people can choose to turn them on or off though.
What I discovered I love to add when making my bread pudding...aside from some good vanilla ... is some dark spiced rum like Kraken into the custard mix... So addicting for me, the way it cuts through the sweetness and and still complements it at the same time...
Hi my old friend. And I mean that with lots of love. Been following you since the 80’s. Saw you at Bookends in Ridgewood NJ way back. Love seeing you again. Been too long. In all the cooking world you are our #1 always ❤
It would be always nice and lovely seeing you again enjoying your talents making fantastic dishes and recipes plus showing your brilliant cooking touches 😍😍 ❤❤❤
I love bread puddings, and this is a new addition to my repertoire. I might use maple syrup to finish, or to amp up the sweetness a little, try making cheese and jam/marmelare sandwiches.
Thanks so very much dear Nigella, for this utterly butterly delicious bread and cream cheese pudding.. genial with demarara sugar topping..you can use raisin bread slices instead of plain bread..lovely with fig jam or a dollop of strawberry ice cream in summer..or any marmelade..lol deary..you really made my day❤😊🎉 PS: love goes through the tummy!!
I’d forgotten how much I like bread and butter pud. Being diabetic, it’s not something I can have often - but I can do this primarily with a sugar substitute and add just a mere sprinkle of sugar on top. I’ll give it a go (both with the cheese and without ;))
Wooowww, I absolutely love this rustic looking bread and butter pudding. 💖 I do make it always a very nice one but this is slightly different so yaa. Let me shop at Ocado first.😍
I could listen to Nigella talk about food all day long! She can turn something as boring as scrambled eggs and make them sound like a $500.00 steak. Love her!!
I’m excited to see you cook but wish you didn’t have subtitles. It covers up the beautiful work you’re doing and it’s unnecessary-I can understand you you perfectly.
I wish they wouldn’t subtitle this at all and especially not with a giant banner across one third of the screen. Use optional subtitles. 95% of people who watch this will be able to understand Nigella perfectly, she speaks impeccable English though her voice appears to have aged a lot more than she has.
Well, that's lovely but it really needs a name of its own. If Bread-and-Butter pudding with marmelade in the mix has its own name (which I can't remember at the moment) a variant with cheese deserves one too.
I wouldnt say it breaks all the rules. The one rule i would have liked to see broken is buttering the bread. I saw one recipe break that rule and it made things so much easier. It was a delicious recipe too.
I add large curd cottage cheese to French Toast with Dark maple syrup......cheesy sweet bread pudding sounds like a riff on east european sweet cheese desserts
I adore Nigella but I honestly thought that this was some kind of a parody for a couple of seconds there. 😳 This just doesn’t seem like a recipe she would do. 🤷♀️
She's always used a combination of low brow and high brow ingredients. And she's especially always liked "plastic bread", she used it in several recipes in her first series alone. For the mozzarella in carrozza recipe and for the "eggy bread" recipe.
I made this tonight. It’s sensational, very creamy, lemony and vanilla-y, melt in the mouth, divine. I had 2 helpings and am now semi comatose on the sofa. If you don’t hear from me again, I died happy.
Did you survive? 😂
Am a sweet tooth myself... so I have full understanding of your comatose 😂... You are a legend, Nigella! So simple but also sophisticated. I am definitely trying it already tomorrow 😊
Just made this and two of us ate it in one sitting. The lemon zest really made this recipe - so nice to get those lemony pops of flavour! I added nuts and raisins for extra texture and flavour and that worked great. Bravo Nigella!
I am loving this look on Nigella! 😍😍😍 the denim blouse, the hairdo, the subtle makeup. Positively gorgeous
Ehhh, any opinion of the actual recipe?
It is a joy watching you create delicious yums again. Thank you 🙏🏽
I really enjoy watching Nigella. I discovered her Christmas special on here 5 years ago and been a fan ever since. Her recipes aren't too difficult to make either.
It's lovely to see you again!
Nigella is a treasure. I love how she describes food.
How splendid to spend this moment with you!
My fondest aloha to you!
Your friend from the Hawaiian Islands 🌺
If Nigella told me to put gravel in a dish I would trust her.
😂😂
She was amazing, really nice see to here , remember my old days 😊
I am ectatic to see nigella again cooking mouth watering recipes and entertaining us with her passionate presentation.
While I can understand her easily, I appreciate the fact that there are subtitles. Since some people are complaining, you could do the optional ones where people can choose to turn them on or off though.

From one Marianne to another how she makes something so simple look as if it's from a top restaurant best wishes
I love your videos. I've enjoyed every single one over the years. Tyvm ❤
I WILLL be trying this as soon as I arrive back home from a trip!
It would be always nice and lovely seeing you again enjoying your talents making fantastic dishes and recipes plus showing your brilliant cooking touches 😍😍 ❤❤❤
Love this recipe Nigella! Super yummy! ❤ Will try it for sure! Greetings from lovely Italy! 😊
Hmmm... I'm not sold on the Laughing Cow... maybe Philadelphia Cream Cheese?
I love bread puddings, and this is a new addition to my repertoire. I might use maple syrup to finish, or to amp up the sweetness a little, try making cheese and jam/marmelare sandwiches.
Nigella is so glamorous
She has inner glamour ❤
Thanks for expanding our vocabulary 😊
Great recipe! Thanks Nigella!
🌸🌺🌼🌺🌹💐🌸🌺🌼🌹

you and your pudding and your kitchen are so beautiful. 😊👍👍
Wish I could se what she’s making behind those subtitles!
queen 👑 you dropped this
Wow super yummy easy way bread pudding recipe thanks
You looking amazing like 7 years ago
I’d forgotten how much I like bread and butter pud. Being diabetic, it’s not something I can have often - but I can do this primarily with a sugar substitute and add just a mere sprinkle of sugar on top. I’ll give it a go (both with the cheese and without ;))
Before foodgasms & foodporn, there was Nigella 😌I could hear her talk and make recipes for ages😋
Oh the goddess! Wonderful thank you ☺️
Thank you so much Nigella 👏🥰
Wooowww, I absolutely love this rustic looking bread and butter pudding. 💖 I do make it always a very nice one but this is slightly different so yaa. Let me shop at Ocado first.😍
higgledy-piggledy is the ONLY way I want it, much love from Arizona! ❤
poetic license that only nigella can do, but would absolutely love this custardy cheese pain perdu
I could listen to Nigella talk about food all day long! She can turn something as boring as scrambled eggs and make them sound like a $500.00 steak. Love her!!
The best part was desperately trying to see the food past the subtitles. Like a bread pudding peep show 😂
“Gleaming squiggle of golden syrup” queen of narration 💅
I’m excited to see you cook but wish you didn’t have subtitles. It covers up the beautiful work you’re doing and it’s unnecessary-I can understand you you perfectly.
Always a delight. Best wishes

Most people watch with captions these days. But I agree that these are clunky graphically
Absolutely! Allow closed captioning! You don’t have to ruin the visual sheesh!
Agree so annoying
Agree, especially as the subtles cover up what she is doing. It makes it difficult to follow her recipe
Wheres the raisins?
Simply delicious
I love your recipe, love from India 🙏 thanks for recipe 🤤❤
I wish these videos were longer man
Mmmmm, interesting! I want to try!!!
so this looks pretty awesome

Looks delicious 😋
Oh my, that looks delicious.
Lovely recipe but the subtitles are badly-placed and distracting.
Great to see dear Nigella.
I add large curd cottage cheese to French Toast with Dark maple syrup......cheesy sweet bread pudding sounds like a riff on east european sweet cheese desserts
Really wish the large subtitles were optional...
Fabulous. I’ll make it.
Looking so beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks 👍🏻👍🏼👍🏽
Looks delicious
you are my Roman Empire
Can't see any of the ingredients you're advertising because of the subtitles. RUclips has the inbuilt OPTION of subtitles.
J'adore🧡
Delicious
Nigella sounds as if she has had a couple of drinks beforehand, perhaps sgroppinos.
Very nice
My god the eggs in UK are so golden orange in the yoke. The whites are amber coloured too.
How much cals?
Merci
Hai welcome back🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

I prefer maple syrup
😍👌👌👌👌
Is it just me or does she sound pissed. 🤔
😍
Hmmm? I'm sorry Nigella but this is not having carbs worthy. 😂 This pudding...with a triangle cheese or Pizza!! Pasta! Nachos! 😂😂😂
Nice i am waiting for your voice ma,m😊❤❤❤❤❤❤
I adore Nigella but I honestly thought that this was some kind of a parody for a couple of seconds there. 😳
This just doesn’t seem like a recipe she would do. 🤷♀️
Squidgy
How to ruin a video with subtitles...
agree! please move the subtitles to the top of the video in future so we can see the food! 😂
What's happened to her downgrading herself doing recipes for Ocado using shitty hovis cancer bread and cheese triangles.
She's always used a combination of low brow and high brow ingredients. And she's especially always liked "plastic bread", she used it in several recipes in her first series alone. For the mozzarella in carrozza recipe and for the "eggy bread" recipe.
Diabetes 😢
