It's kinda insane when you think about the fact that this song was almost gonna be the New Radicals 1st single before "You get what you give" was eventually chosen.
It's so sad that the last 5-6 demos of Gregg that were released are "only" excerpts. Especialliy "Murder On The Dancefloor" would have been extremeley interesting... I'd pay a lot for a relase of these songs. Come on, crowdfunding? ;-)
The first demo version of "Murder On The Dancefloor" from Gregg Alexander is brilliant. He wrote that song which is great. But when Sophie Ellis-Bextor wrote that song too, it became a hit 23 years ago. And to this day, both Sophie and Gregg's versions are awesome. I'm glad Gregg was credited for writing "Murder On The Dancefloor" because it shows he was great at what he did. And he still is brilliant at what he does. Sophie was brilliant in writing that song too. I hope Gregg releases the full version. Kudos to them both.👌👍
I'd love to hear the full, finished Gregg version. But let's be honest, from commercial performance standpoint, it wouldn't have done as well as it did with Sophie performing it with the early 00's funky house production. To a passive radio listener, the song's concept flows a lot more naturally when it's sung by a young woman in that effortlessly cool manner.
Come on Gregg! Release the full cut! :)
he released a completed version!!
