BTW, Floor's husband is the drummer for Sabaton. They have a nice place in the country in Sweden along with their daughter. Sabaton is another good band you won't normally hear in the USA.
He have the bag under his right arm, and a bellows to inflate it under his left arm, they're connected via a hose behind his body. The pipe you're seeing is one of the drones.

@@v3tReacts Yes, they're called Uillean Pipes (I may have spelled that wrong). They are an Irish bagpipe (ancient Gaelic I think) that is pumped by a bellows under the arm unlike their more well known Scottish cousins that are blown. (Go ahead, I've given you a segue to have some fun with that sentence, BWAHAHAHA!) It is an acoustic instrument. Troy said they are insanely difficult to play, and this set is a special commission, hand engraved pipe set made specially for him by one of the only people in the world who knows how to manufacture them.

That double neck that Marko is playing is called 'The Beast'. Check out their song 'The Islander' (live at Tampere) if you want to see him play the guitar part on it. Marko also takes the lead vocals in that song.

I'm pretty sure that this song was inspired by the novel "Walden" or "Life in the Woods" by American transcendentalist Henry David Thoreau. It tells about simple living in natural surroundings & is also part personal declaration of independence, social experiment, voyage of spiritual discovery, satire, and to some degree. a manual for self-reliance.

lol...absolutly love your reactions guys...wish i had found you from the start...anyway, the pipes Troy is playing are called Uillean pipes and they are not digital. They are the Irish variant of bagpipes, the difference is that you use the one bag under your arm to pump up the other bag, with the traditional Scottish bagpipes you blow air into the bag with your mouth...Troy is a true master with these pipes. He also play different flutes and whistles and he is a great guitar player too. If someone ask Troy what instrument he plays, he can simply say yes 😂..if you want more pipes check out - Nightwish \I Want My Tears Back or -Nightwish\Last Of The Wilds...both from Wacken 2013.
Tuomas , who is the keyboardist, formed the band and writes and composes most of the music. He draws inspiration from poetry and science a lot. My Walden is based on a poem.

Troy plays a ton of instruments including those Irish bag pipes (not digital - called Uilleann pipes) also called the crutches or the sticks I believe. Bellows are under the arm to pump air instead of blowing like Scottish. Sweeter sounding too.

Troy plays uilleann pipes, among other things.
Marko's double neck guitar has a bass on top and not your average guitar on the bottom. It's modified to put out a particular sound mostly used when pairing up with Troy.

The Uillean bag pipes are as far as I understood, a double bag pipe. He pumps the one bag to fill up the other, while he uses the 2nd one to control the airflow to the instrument making the sound. It's rather complex to play i'd assume ^^
Also pretty cool that yr buddy recognized the double-neck Warwick. Marko is one of the few WW exclusive artists and always has the most awesome looking basses.

The too talkative middle man has some points. Marko plays custom made Warwick double neck there. And the Jethro Tull vibes are Nothing new to Nightwish. Troy comes from Cumbria, near to Scotland where Ian Anderson of Jetro Tull comes. Troy is a Brit and I think he sings Gael in the beginning. Nightwish has many many type of songs as you'll see.

The pipes are Uilleann pipes. "Uilleann" is Gaelic or old Irish and it means "elbow". The bag is filled with air by movement of the elbow, hence the name. According to Troy himself, it is harder or more difficult to play than 'normal' bagpipes but has more variety. I listen a lot to Celtic folk, mainly Scottish and Irish folk, and let me tell you: he is doing great on the pipes. He's not top notch but he is damn near. And it has another advantage: he has his mouth free to join in in the backing vocals and harmonizing.
If you wanna see a great example of the difference in pipes, the man standing is the 'usual' bagpipe and the man sitting down is the Uilleann pipe. Watch his right arm pumping the air in the bag. ruclips.net/video/fNhWxH_NUh8/видео.html Notice the difference in sound.

Good reaction guys, if a bit rough around the edges. Don't sweat too much about the pausing; I notice you're taking in feedback and want to improve the flow of your videos which is great. You're getting the hang of it so just keep doing what you are doing. It can be a challenge with multiple reactors since either one or two are just sitting quiet while one is reacting, or all chime in and give their thoughts like in this case. I much prefer the latter because everyone is engaged but almost by necessity that's going to lead to more pausing since you will pick up on different things. Like someone mentioned below, just go back 5s and you get a nice transition. What I guess I'm trying to say is don't be too harsh on your buddies for being spontaneous, you'll find the sweet spot. Be safe!
