    I was looking at the Maono, and it's definitely the best one in terms of price and features if you're only running one mic.

      It sounds pretty good it's inexpensive and it's got a lot of things to play with so it's a cool little interface, I wasn't really expecting it to sound as good as it did, so if you need all the little fun bills and whistles that it comes with you really can't beat it for the money

      @@dannylightning-audio-reviews Yeah, I'm going for that one, even though I probably won't use most of the features because I already have a software that does most of the things the interface does.

      That is the biggest drawback, only having one microphone input is all some people will ever need but a lot of people will buy one and then eventually realize hey I actually need to be able to hook up a second microphone for a guest. That's really the only thing to think about am I sure I'm only going to need one microphone input, the audio quality was almost as good as the more expensive units and this one's quite affordable so if you really only need one mic and you don't want to spend too much this seems like a decent option, it definitely comes down to what do I actually need and how much do I want to spend but for somebody that really only needs one microphone this is a great starter intrrfsce

    I have both and the biggest turnoff to the Maono is the delay in the monitoring. Its not a huge delay but its enough to notice and makes the Maono unusable in a music recording situation for singing or instrument recording. Once I got my 2i2 and heard the difference in quality for the monitoring, its hard for me to go back to the Maono.
    All that being said, if you are new to interfaces and are wanting a very beginner friendly, easy to use interface that is good enough, you cant go wrong with it.

      I haven't noticed any type of delay with my camera I think you're talking about latency where you hear your voice like slap back I can let you instead of zero latency monitoring maybe?? Make sure the battery is fully charged I noticed when the battery was low it was doing some weird stuff but I didn't really have any issues like that, I was actually quite surprised that how well this thing performed for me I wasn't really expecting to like this at all and I was like oh wow and actually does a pretty good job for cheap but I I didn't really have any issues once I charge the battery, when I got it and I turned it on I was like oh my God this thing is terrible it was doing all kinds of weird stuff but after I charged it up it was all good but most things don't operate well on a low battery I guess, but I seriously didn't notice any real negative things going on with the interface I mean everything seemed pretty good to me but it's possible you got a bad one or maybe have something set up differently I don't know. Personally this would not be my first choice for interface cuz I don't like how many dials and switches just to adjust your microphone volume but I didn't have any issues with it

      is there a problem with the interface working on those DAW's ?? i would assume any audio interface would work on almost any DAW, i don't have those currently but if there is a problem let me know and i can let them know about it.. I used to use reaper for the longest time but now i use the Fairlight DAW for most everything. its set up for voice and video and works for music too but i mainly just work with dialogue and video these days.

    do you think i should get the maono one or scarlett solo . i am getting a podmic

    • @dannylightning-audio-reviews

      if you can afford it i would go with a scarlet, i have had a 3rd gen scarlet solo for years and its still working great and i have never had any issue with it. The scarlet sounds great and it will offer a more gain than the maono or fiifne interfaces which is good when running a dynamic mic which can be a little gain hungry. the maono and fifine did power my SM7B to proper recording levels of -15 db on the peaks but i can crank the scarlet up a little more if needed. the maono works well has some strange controls so i like the fifine better as the controls are more normal and standard, but if you can afford the scarlet solo or 2i2 its probably your best best. right now i use my Scarlett a lot and my SSL interface, the controlls on the ssl2+ are awesome but if you just want good and basic and your sure you only need one mic the 3rd gen Scarlett solo is awesome

      Yes but I do think they make some little contraptions that are made to do this, in audio interface really isn't made for this but I'll tell you how you can do it if you need to. You can get a y adapter that has two quarter inch jacks going into 1 1/8 in Jack, you plug the quarter inch jacks into the monitor output on the interface and then you plug the 1/8th inch jack into the cameras microphone input, those monitor outs are really supposed to go to a set of studio monitors but you can use them to hook it to a camera with the right y adapter. I know for a fact that this works on at least some interfaces I would imagine it probably works on all interfaces to have monitor outs but This isn't something I've tried on several different interfaces, but we're really boils down to you is this should work but these interfaces are designed to be plugged into a computer and those outputs are really designed for a studio monitor but I know on the SSL interface this works just fine, it worked on my old Scarlet interface but I haven't tested it on one of the newer ones.

    Ssl2+ good for mac?

    • @dannylightning-audio-reviews
      @dannylightning-audio-reviews  3 месяца назад

      A lot of people use them on Mac and I've never heard any complaints so it should be fine as long as you have Mac 11.3 or higher, you might have some issues if you're running a version under 11.3 on Mac. I know they updated the firmware on this not too long ago so I don't know if that's changed or not but I'd say as long as you're above 11.3 you should be good to go. For the $250 price tag you're actually getting a lot with this I mean you got two headphone jacks you got two microphone or instrument inputs, you got a physical monitor mix knob right on it which is amazing if you're ever trying to hear yourself and play audio back on the computer at the same time, it's got the MIDI inputs. The preemps have a little more gain than a lot of older interfaces due which is more than enough to drive something like an SM7B without needing a cloud lifter in my opinion, and it really does sound just as good as any other in it audio interface out there in my opinion. Now that I got a little more sound treatment in my room it's pretty hard to hear any major differences between me different interfaces, Even the newest focus route I got which has slightly better preempts I mean they got more gain and they're just a little teeny tiny bit cleaner but yeah really really got to listen to here any differences and you got to be listening on something that's capable of reproducing the sound quality so you can hear exactly what's on the recording. I've actually switched back to using this one as my main interface for my gaming channels on RUclips. I normally use a Scarlet interface for this channel because there's probably more people running one of those than anything else out there so I figure for microphone comparisons might as well run the Scarlet but I really do like the fourth generations Scarlets and I really like this SSL a lot
