HOW DOES IT WORK? When you are exposed to cold water, your blood vessels constrict and get smaller, and when you get out of the water, the change in temperature causes them to rapidly re-open, which can help to flush the muscles metabolic waste products.
Do these plunge tubs heat up the room they are in by much? I have a small spare room but I also work in there. I'd like to keep the plunge in the room but worry the unit will heat up the room.
I Love my polar monkey. The only beef I have is that it sweats from the hot air in my garage. The water does take quite a long time to chill though. The smart plug turns it on at midnight and by the time I wake up, i'ts nice and 45 degrees.
How did you insulate the tub. I bought the ice Barrel but I live in Florida and even under shade the ice melts within 2 hours. want a chiller but think it will be huge energy draw and tub sweats horribly
ONCE IN A WHILE IT'S GOOD TO DRAIN IT AND ADD FRESH WATER, FILTER AND CHEMS ARE NOT A BE ALL EBD ALL, FIRST YOU'RE ADDING CHEMICALS TO THE WATER WHICH I WOULDN'T..THE FILTER CAN ONLY DO SO MUCH UNTIL YOU HAVE TO REPLACE IT
I just got rid of my polar monkey portal. Took over two months to arrive from date of purchase, chiller stopped working after a month, and getting a new chiller kept getting delayed week after week. Customer support is non-existant, with replies once a day/every other day, with the only thing offered as a "sorry" being a free filter (approx $7 value). Like the comments posted, the portal sweats LIKE CRAZY. Water gets everywhere, including under the tub where mold and mildew grew. Overall experience with polar monkeys was the worst I've ever had with any other company.
I ended up getting the plunge. Free shipping, free cover, insulated so there's no sweat from the tub, amazing customer service, stays way cleaner, way longer, not as loud. Definitely should have spend the little bit of extra money on it in the first place
To bad the prices for polar monkey has significantly increased since you made this video.
Polar monkey had raised all their prices almost $1000 while plunge has remained the same. With the price increase it makes the decision very difficult
fam, get a chest freezer, seal it using water proof sealants, and fill it with water.. Bam industry grade cold plunge for like $500
FACT
The 1 year warranty is pretty crappy. At that price point I'd want at least a 5 year.
IF THE CHILLER BREAKS, BUY A NEW CHILLER..1 YR WARRANTY IS FINE..I WOULDN'T BUY ANY OF THESE COLD PLUNGES, TOO PRICEY, THERE'S CHEAPER STUFF OUT THERE

The prices are ridiculous. I only need this for the summer when water is warmer

How well does the heating work?
@@kevingrotlisch3636 havent used it for heating yet.
Do you have the metal one or is the fiberglass also having condensation?
@@AndrewKauf I have the metal one.
Do you have the portal or brainpod? No issues with it still? Been reading mixed reviews on polar monkeys as a whole.
i opted to DIY my rubbermaid 150 Gal Tub. ordered the chiller and pump and a cover. i am going to insulate the tub as well. thanks for the ideas!

What chiller/pump did you buy and where? I have a tractor supply horse trough and it’s great. Tho now they it’s summer I can’t keep it cold.
anyone has any idea where do they get their water coolers at? Or do they make them theirselfs?
What are your thoughts/experience with the heating system on the polar monkey or plunge?
why would i ever have to replace the water if i just keep it clean with the filter and some chems?

@@kevinkurtz18Thanks brother. Do you recommend getting the 3 or 5 year warranty?
I got the 3 year because there was a deal where I got it for $1 at the time. But honestly, I've had zero issues with it dude.
Star treatment is now 12k+++ like holy crap polar monkeys making up for lost sales 😳
Star treatment is now $12,900 hahaha
*** keep them
Indoor during the cold winter months.
Lol.
If using cold water only, yes! The pipes will freeze.
11.5 ft long? What kind of giants are buying a plunge xl?
Multiple bodies at once
thanks for the video... couldve been a 5min video tho
The xl is nowhere near as big as he claims. That was ridiculous. BTW I have the xl
