We are living in the end of times and it's a statement I would have never said 5 years ago.

On the nuclear topic, this is my PACE plan for what its worth. It might not be worth very much lol.
Primary - If there is an early inkling of something going to kick off (e.g. if Ukraine is hit with a tactical nuclear weapon) we're leaving central florida and taking an unplanned vacation back to family who live in a very rural area in the Midwest. I have some go bags with NBC gear and a geiger counter should things start to pop off on the road and we aren't just completely vaporized. I have maps preloaded on my phone with OSMAND+ (assuming GPS is still running ideally) as well as paper maps. Then we set up our alternate plan up there (we would probably dig down and layer water storage devices containers above us).
Alternate - If for some reason we can't leave, but we have enough advanced notice (limited strikes start kicking off elsewhere in the country), I'm filling dozens of rubbermaids with water and building an impromptu shelter in a walk in closet in the center of our house. Then putting as much material as I can all around that closet until the fallout starts falling (we'll know, it's like a sandy texture). Obviously if the bombs are anything bigger than a tactical nuke, we're goners anyways. However, if there is fallout risk we're filling rubber maids and stacking them along our walk in closet and outside of it. Every 3.5CM of water cuts radiation in half, so by my math 2 layers of rubber maids filled with water all around is possibly survivable (with lowish long term risk of cancer) even in heavy radiation areas. I have a water transfer pump worst case to take it from the community swimming pool in our HOA lol.
Contingent - We try to hit the road if our vehicles are operating, do our best to get out of the area and avoid the fallout with our AWD vehicle. Keep the radios on the NOAA station.
Emergency - If there's absolutely no time at all, or traffic is just at an absolute standstill and we're stuck, and we have survived the initial strike, but fallout is coming. We'd look for those large drainage pipes that are buried under 40-50 feet of dirt (they're maybe 4.5 feet tall or so, usually in a drainage basin in commercial areas in Florida). Obviously you're really screwed if it rains any time in the following week.
It sucks there's only so much you can prepare for feasibly. Popping potassium iodine tablets isn't going to do all that much, finding descent shielding is your best bet. All of that is just to maybe, maybe have a shot at protecting your family. Regardless depending on Christ first and foremost, he has our future secure.
