    My Fiancé and I have the 2022 Atoll ISUP and we’re pretty pleased with it. Pretty light weight, 33 inches wide gives great stability and they look great with their minimalist theme and awesome Bison logo. Only thing I could’ve hoped for was an extra strap and at least one mount to put a GoPro or camera. Hopefully they can integrate this in their next design without sacrificing weight.

    After 10+ yrs. on rigid boards, I bought my first inflatable board last year from a river trip outfitter.
    I found and purchased from Amazon an 11' *Funwater* "yellow" for the pointy *touring* shape, bagan using it on my local river.
    I'm amazed at how much i prefer this board over previous "favorites."
    As a result, I purchased 5 more identical boards, FunWater "yellow," averaging less than $200 apiece.
    I paddleboard *somewhere* everyday, sometimes lakes, but mostly rivers here in central Alabama. I've been on thiss board over 200 times in the past year, and I do lots of fishing (nearly 80 bass standing on this board, in one year) and exploring islands, camping...
    Best money I 'bout ever spent.
    I have a fleet of 18 inflatables, 6 alike for tours, one "Tuxedo Sailor (?)" which has amazing features/extras for fishing, yep, made by FunWater, whose factory builds for MANY DIFFERENT LABELS.
    I'm seeing the "brand names" have WAY MORE quality issues...Body Glove and others, even Bote...and the customers' lack of support, after a blown board, and a blown vacation.
    Free demos if you're in Lake Martin area of Alabama, text me...Cherokee Bluffs on the Tallapoosa River. EZ!

      Had a Waterwalker for 3 1/2 years. Some great features. Fins easy to install and looks great. It just “died”. I assume there are multiple chambers inside. The back part over inflated, creating about a 1 ft bubble near the traction pad. Still worked fine. Last weekend I inflated it and a few hours later other chambers expanded to a big bubble. It’s a goner. Most I ever inflated it to was 17 psi and it says 15-20 is best range. Liked it but won’t buy again. Have a Nixy the same # of years and it hasn’t had any problems. Nixy goes a little slower though and fins are a pain to get on/off.

    We got the Bote HD Aero's and had a similar experience. Bubbles coming up in the side rail, bubble under the deck pad, deck pad peeling up. This was all straight out of the box. Contacted BOTE and they said its cosmetic, no warranty. Asked about 30 day return window and BOTE said "you did not buy it from us directly. Contact your local dealer". Well a manufacturer throwing their dealers under the buss to deal with their poor quality is not a good sign. So I contacted the local dealer and he says "BOTE is huge. We are just a dealer. We can't take it back because we don't get any support from them either". What good is a 2 year warranty if the company that offers it refuses to honor it. I have the iRocker Blackfin XL and the iRocker Blackfin V and both are amazing...we have gotten over 10 first time paddle Boarders to try and be able to use them right away on an open bay . The bay is by no means like a lake so that is impressive that all have been able to get up, balance and paddle away. I would imagine we will be adding the Ultra as well. At 6ft and 265lbs I can easily get up on the board and maneuver around on the boards as well and I am an amateur. Also I have the BT speaker, cooler, cup holder, Kayak seat and anchor for it so you have a terrific day on the water. Love the videos thank you. I'm interested in the irocker all arounder - but torn which to get 11 or 10? I'm male - in my early forties - have had a SUP for 6 years (Tower Adventure 2) and want something a little quicker, better glide but still be good in different waters (I live near the ocean). I'm only 5'6 so should I opt for te 11 for more speed or stick to the shorter board for more maneuverability? Your review(s) seem to favour the shorter board. Thank you!

    • @supboardguide
      @supboardguide  2 года назад

      Hi Patrick, that really comes down to your personal preference. If you want a board that's a bit faster and tracks a little better, then you'd enjoy the 11'. Likewise, if maneuverability is higher up on your priority list than speed/tracking is, you'd better enjoy the shorter board. Luckily, there's no wrong choice here, as either is a great option depending on your own paddling style/priorities.

      OH - and if so - can you comment on how the Ultralight models (4.7", 20psi, carbon rail) might handle differently than the HD (6", 15psi) versions? On paper the differences are clear, but I'm wondering if they would be significant on the water?

    • @supboardguide
      @supboardguide  2 года назад +2

      We've not tried the Level Six lineup yet - we'll have to put that on our radar. As for your point on brands: It's correct that there are only a handful of factories manufacturing inflatable SUPs for vast majority of the inflatable paddleboard market. That being said though and working with each of the brands listed in our reviews, we've found that they're usually pretty transparent about any other sub-brands that they're responsible for. We can use iROCKER as an example for this as they're behind the iROCKER, Nautical, and Blackfin lines, and sell all three on their site. And while some competing brands are made in the same factory, the differentiation between boards is still there and readily apparent from things like construction, specs, and on the water performance.

    • @supboardguide
      @supboardguide  2 года назад +1

      Generally speaking, 4.7" thick boards feel more similar to hardboards than 6" thick boards because your center of gravity is lowered, there's better stability in chop, etc. However, there's a caveat to this: heavier paddlers sometimes aren't compensated enough by the volume of 4.7" thick boards, and will therefore feel less stable than they would on a 6" thick board of the same length and width.

I've read your reviews on Supboardguide for each and was hoping you'd be posting the youtubes for the Blackfin CX Ultra, and Classic Cruiser Ultra last week. Any idea when you'll be posting. • @supboardguide
      @supboardguide  2 года назад +1

      Hi Denise,
      We will have a video review of the Cruiser Ultra posted sometime this week, and have one for the Blackfin CX Ultra coming down the pipe this summer. The main reason the Cruiser Ultra won out over the Blackfin CX Ultra and the All-Around 11' Ultra is simply because it fits a wider range of paddlers and has more of a true 'all-around' SUP feel. It's the most stale of the Ultra series SUPs and is capable of taking on some gear, loading up a dog, a kid, etc. On top of that it's maneuverability has improved significantly from iROCKER's original Cruiser and the cut in weight made it much more comfortable to paddle. While we love the performance of the Blackfin CX Ultra and the insane tracking capabilities of the 11' Ultra, the Cruiser Ultra is just a bit more versatile.

    Thank you for the great video. I'm considering the Gili Meno 11'6" and the Blackfin model x. I'm a larger paddler at 6' and 280 pounds. Both appear to be great from reviews, but I'm curious if you have a suggestion for me between the two. Also considering the Thurso Max.

      Don, I would recommend the Blackfin X or XL over the Gili 10'6 or 11'6 for you. I think you'll appreciate the increased stiffness and durability (I would also lean towards the XL if the extra $100 is doable in your budget).

      We have a written review on our site for the CX Ultra here: www.supboardguide.com/blackfin-cx-ultra-sup-review/
      In summary though, the CX Ultra is more of a performance all-around, where as the original Blackfins were focused on stability and load capacity. The CX is stable at 32.5" wide, but it will have a slight learning curve if you're brand new to the sport. It's also pretty fast for an all-around SUP and it tracks exceptionally well. If stability is your top priority though, I'd redirect your attention to our review of the iROCKER Cruiser found here: www.supboardguide.com/irocker-cruiser-review/
      or our review of the Cruiser Ultra, if you're looking for something more compact: ruclips.net/video/fMBLI_a2P9s/видео.html .

      It's not necessarily that one is better than the other, but rather that the boards fit different paddlers/use cases. The Blackfin CX ultra is extremely sporty/maneuverable and still has fairly good tracking, while the 11' ultra has tracking capabilities that are more characteristics of a touring SUP. As for stability, the Blackfin CX ultra is more stable than the 11' Ultra, but the two are fairly similar when it comes to speed.

      However, I can say this: when I'm paddling with my kids or taking gear I grab the Blackfin XL. When I'm just going to paddle by myself I often grab the Honu Sorrento (I prefer a touring board for solo fitness paddling).

    It seems that every RUclips video and reddit question on which board to get always results in “experts” saying irocker because they’re a reputable brand. But then you go on amazon and the irocker boards have pretty terrible reviews, and there’s Amazon boards that cost half as much that have 5,000+ reviews with an average rating of 4.7, 4.8, sometimes even 4.9.
    Is irocker just masters of social media marketing? Because RUclips comments and amazon reviews don’t lie. I’ll stick to an Amazon board for $200 that has better reviews. If you’re going to charge double the price, it needs to be better quality, not worse.
