@@wallywinker2438 on the Azazel trailer you can see Khornate marauders Khornate warriors of chaos also already are in the game and they have a unique design
Not as horrendously one-sided as I was worried it would be. Going wide with a lot of Goblins might genuinely be a good choice against Tzeentch, simply because all those cheap silver shields are gonna help mitigate horror missile spam. I think Okoii made a mistake in not bringing any magic support though. As for Rogue Idols, I'm happy they've been made unbreakable. Personally, I do not think them routing was really a good choice, if it had been my call to make, I would have categorized them as constructs, like the Tomb King monsters. For one, it would be a solid balancing solution and second I feel like that's what would really fit their theme the best. They are the embodyment of the spirit of the Waaagh! and I disagree with your notion that Waaaghs! rout. They do not. Greenskins rout. The Waaagh! simply falls apart when not enough Greenskins are willing to fight, but you don't ever have an entire Waaagh! just retreating. They keep on pushing and pushing until they've lost their leader or suffered too many casualties, at which point they start infighting or going home. In the same way, I'd argue that a Rogue Idol should fall apart if the Waaagh! breaks apart. We are talking about hulking mounds of stone and dried greenskin excrement, animated by a collective drive to kill and fight. They are not alive and therefore they do not have self-preservation instincts. A Rogue Idol shouldn't be able to get scared, but it should be affected if there's not enough Greenskins with a will to fight left. I've also heard someone (I think it was Turin) state that Squig Herd have had their price lowered to 300, which seems fair to me. They used to cost 500 and frankly, outside of some super specific situations I do not think they were worth that price or able to get that much damage value, they'd often die within seconds even against a good target.
Unfortunately, they are also some of the lightest units in the game. 1 of Tzeentch caves weaknesses is that they are a bit light in comparison to some other cav with relatively low charge bonuses. so they tend not to break through lines easily. With gobbos they don't have that problem as they are much lighter, making smash and run much easier. Should be similar for the rats but the rats do have some heavy units that can lock up cav easier.
Totally agree with you about the Idol... I've been saying they should just make it crumble ever since it was first introduced. I mean, it's not just about game balance; it also makes decent sense from a thematics standpoint - as you pointed out, the Idol isn't really 'alive' in any conventional sense... it's just a big hunk of rubble powered by Waaagh! energy. As that energy starts to dissipate i.e. army losses start to kick in, it only seems natural that whatever forces binding the Idol together would also falter - in other words, just treat it exactly like a big smelly Construct! I mean, such a thing seems like a no-brainer; or at least to most members of the Warhammer community I've spoken to... alas, as we well know, CA are _infamous_ at this point for some of their more, shall we say, 'questionable' balancing decisions!
Love the greenskins themed build. Was a fun one to watch. Definitely would have benefitted from a night goblin shaman hero. Itchy nuisance and sneaky stabbin both help immensly to push nasty skulkers over to "winning" for their insane damage buff. Not to mention gork'll fix it (?), the one that lows movement and lowers charge bonus for even more controll of that tzeench cav.
Its 8 peak looneys, the name is displayed correctly as fanatics are secret like the TT rules. Admitedly the fact that is an RoR is a massive give away.
I think it's on purpose that the enemy can't see which Night Goblin unit is which. In Warhammer Fantasy you didn't tell your opponent which of your units had fanatics, nets, or other secret Gobbo shenanigans until you unleashed them.
I've also been using pink for my unit hp and markers. The default green was rather jarring, super glad we can change the colours. Never felt bad about the yellow in TW2 so unsure if you were able to select your own before. If not, it's a nice change.
Hard, hard throw from the goblin player. Somehow they managed to both leave their units isolated AND blob up - simply keeping a reasonable army coherence would have made them very hard to beat
Suspect the Chaos rework means that the Greenskins (and other races in the same boat) are going to need a tweak to make sure they have a proper anti-armour and anti-large option, or they are just going to get rolled
It'd be great if goblin only armies were getting some unique buff, or maybe one of the legendary lords would give some buff to goblin units etc. I love seeing these builds and I love my gobbos so anything that promotes it would be neat.
7:03 I know the feeling, man, but remember that it could always be worse…imagine being old enough to remember when Eternal Champions released, preparing for MK2 to drop, and (in relevance to you) the days BEFORE Shadow of the Horned Rat
As a Tzeeentch main here I am pretty excited about the new look on mortals. I am sure the rest of them will also be dope!! Can't wait to see Nurgle and Slaanesh. All monogod factions will certainly be good both in land battles and Domination.
Greenskins I think are kinda disadvantaged against the big chicken since they have no air presence and a lot of their good armor piercing is only in doom divers and black orcs but I think they'll be able to hold their own against the more melee minded demon factions...maybe. either way, awesome game! Great content! And you gotta learn to love your grey hairs indy, there's gonna be more before there's less! 😉😁
Black Orcs are very good and the Greenskins also get some of the best AP cav in the game for their price + really good cheap cav + chaff. I reckon the archers for the greenskins were are big waste and the lord choice was pretty poor as well I think this is could have been won pretty easy with a better build
Letting Tzeentch get away with dismantling your forces piecemeal is a hard place to recover from, especially if they put money into the high-strength aerial forces.
Dude I'm 45, you're only as old as the woman/man/other identification you feel ;) Love all your content, it's what i could only imagine 30 years ago when I was playing TT with my badly painted armies - please keep it up!
I feel like ROgue Idols should crumble, its held together by the will of the Waagh so if the Waagh is routed or broken the rogue idol would just fall apart right?
Part of me wishes they change the Knight of Tzeentch model back next patch then switch back and forth every major patch after that. It would be a good running gag.
The Rogue Idol being the "physical manifestation of the WAAGH" doesn't mean it should run like hell just because orcs in a waagh can run away. It means it's fueled by it. It loses what keeps those rocks together and sentient and it crumbles. If the waagh goes away, there goes the fuel. Does the Energizer Bunny run away in terror if it's battery runs out? No, it just stops just like how the Rogue Idol just stops working.
I do like the improvements for tzeentch knights but I was hoping that their helmets got a full redesign a la khorne warriors. Something inspired by or similar to 1k sons in 40k. Obviously not an exact vopy but the helmet shape could be an odd tzeentch symbol.
Doom knights need reflect arrows skill for a few second .they are infantry and they should die at land if they have to.or maybe adding more heavy infantry variants to the army list
Even if waaaghs rout. I feel it would have been more fitting for the rouge idol to crumble atleast than run away. But unbreakable is "fine" I guess. Makes it stronger.
I feel like if the green skins would have just blobbed up around the Rogue Idol instead of leaving his Archers seperated from the main group he would have probably won
I agree the idol getting unbreakable is a good change in making the greenskins' biggest monster be viable. But I will prefer the version that can route for no other reason than its funny and perfectly in line with how ridiculous da green boyz r.
