    Very useful thank you! I’ve received some more screws and nuts which I’m not yet sure what they are for… the bike came with the self-retracting side stand, no spare shorter bolt, I wonder whether I should just remove the bushing and reuse the bolt that’s there…

    What about the Tow rope , there really should be a orange white and red tow rope. That would be handy for those riding with these ktms.

      Not sure if you’re joking. I ride pretty much every weekend and have never had any of my KTMs breakdown during a ride resulting in requiring a tow out. I honestly believe that if you perform basic maintenance on your bike and also understand what issues can occur, KTMs can be very reliable, even more so than other off-road brands.

    Hi!
    I wrote you on 11/11. I had lack of power in my tbi300. We said ecu may not be in competition mode. Afert checking that and many many things we finally found the problem. Gasoline pump was not working! More precisely, it worked but only a % of full power. We realized when we changed gas tank form abother tbi. Just to let you know or someone reading here
    Regards
    Jordi

      Hi there! Pleased to hear that you figured out the problem and thanks for letting me know. That's very quick for a fuel pump to go bad. Shows that it's a good idea to do a fuel pressure measurement if having running issues.

    You should try the KTM power parts wrap around hand guards that tie into the OEM flags. They are excellent

    • @TokyoOffroad
      @TokyoOffroad  Год назад +1

      Yes, some of my riding buddies use those and they seem to hold up OK. But I already have a set of Cycra Series One aluminum hand guards and BRP top clamp mounts which I find very robust. I thread the bar end and use an insert which really helps to stop the guards rotating in crashes, or pulling out.

    Very nice video. I've got the same toolkit for my 2023 Husqvarna TE300.. But beware, the 21 for sparkplugs just slips, I can't change the sparkplug with mine atleast.

    • @redhill3282
      @redhill3282 Год назад

      The issue is the spark plug has a small ridge which stops the spanner seating all the way down because it clashes with the points of the spanner on the back side. I just filed the points off. Metal is soft so it only took a minute.

    Hi,
    it would be great to make a video on how to remove all this restrictions from the bike.
    Also, do you have to change riding maps after you take all this ECO stuff off the bike?

    • @TokyoOffroad
      @TokyoOffroad  Год назад +4

      To achieve full power, the delivery eco exhaust expansion chamber (with cats) will need to be changed for the regular competition expansion chamber and the airbox restriction plate needs to be removed from the airbox. This is easy to do and takes a couple of minutes. However, the ECU map needs to be changed to the competition map, which can only be done by the dealer, or swapping the ECU for an updated one. Regarding the fuel evap recovery system, I think this has minimal impact on performance, so long as it's operation correctly. My concern is that at some stage it may well stop working correctly, so I'd rather not have it fitted to my bike. I'll make a video showing how to remove the frame mounted evap canister, but the other stuff has already been dome on my bike so it's too late to make a video...

      Hi, I bought my exc 300 24 directly from factory and not from ktm dealer. I prepared the bike myself to get full power, even bought map switch connector cause I was told I couldnt get full power without that. Result is I cant get full power (even in green map). Maybe 30% less power than other 2024 tested from friends who bought it at dealer. My next move is changing into BR7ES sparkplug (I used the other one supplied) but I dont think this is making big difference. I’ve just read from you ECU map has to be changed into conpetition one by dealer. Do you think this may be my problem?
      Thanks in advance, great content!

    • @TokyoOffroad
      @TokyoOffroad  11 месяцев назад

      @@jordibarbera5850 Yes, definitely have your dealer check that the competition map has been written to your ECU and that it doesn't still have the homologation low emissions map programmed. Regarding the green (full power) and white (lower power) maps, the owners manual is not correct. By default the bike is in the green map (full power).

    Did your bike come stock with the radiator fan? If not you have an install video?

    • @TokyoOffroad
      @TokyoOffroad  5 месяцев назад

      No, it didn't come stock with a fan. For the 2024 the easiest fan solution is to get the KTM OEM factory fan which plugs in to the connector under the tank and is controlled by the ECU via the OCU. I like having a digital display (very helpful when warming up the bike) so purchased the KTM Power Parts digital controlled fan kit (made by TrailTech). Initially I powered it directly from the battery, but it you do that it'll run on after you turn the engine off, until the temp is below the trip point, which can make it prone to draining the battery if you do a lot of stop start slow riding in technical terrain. As such I decided to power it from the OCU and made a video about it which may be of interest: ruclips.net/video/1SniBkqkyeA/видео.htmlsi=N67-Xw4TV_-2cVS6

      @@TokyoOffroad awesome thank you very much I will watch the video later today. I think will purchase the original KTM fan and place a separate order for a trail tech temp gauge and install the gauge up top for easier view on my '24 250 XC-W. Thanks again. Love your channel.

    Enjoy the 24! Utter madness that they have to design and build the bike with all that stuff on it only for every owner to remove it so the bike works. Completely bonkers and utterly stupid in terms of waste reduction. You should be able to hand this stuff back for a refund, it goes back to Ktm to be used for another batch of bikes.

    • @TokyoOffroad
      @TokyoOffroad  Год назад

      If the bike was sold for off-road competition use only it wouldn't be necessary. But the EXC model can be registered for road use in many countries and this is how the manufacture is able to confirm to the emissions regulations. I'm glad that you can still buy 2-strokes. The Japanese manufacturers (other than Yamaha) gave up long ago...
