Tremendous!!! Red lidded bins pure genius. And saving money is bonus!! Loving this series! As a great gramma I relate. Been meaning to share that when I started my decluttering Organizing journey years ago, I discovered I had bags of the premade package bows in EVERY ROOM!! With the exception of the bathrooms!! Honestly!! I guess I wanted to be ready for any wrapping emergencies!! lol Love how you honor your gammas feelings and beliefs! You make me proud.
My Mom has been decluttering her things and realized she doesn't use, over half of what she has accumulated and received as gifts, over the years. Letting it all go. Before my Gram died, she gave all of us the choice to take back any gifts we had given her, before she donated them. It was a beautiful time with her. ❤
I think the the black totes with the red lids are just fine for Christmas items. The clear totes look really nice too; it must feel so good to get all those boxes out! By the way, your daughter is absolutely precious!
My tried and tested tip for cleaning out a garage while having a sale in mind is this: set up four long tables in a “U” shape, all inside at the garage door, with “U” bump facing in. As you are decluttering, place the sale items directly on the four tables in categories of decor, kitchen, linens, etc. Place large and boxed items and groups in totes directly under and in front of the tables. When it’s time for the sale, open the garage door and pull the bulky items out onto the driveway. This way you only touch most of the sale items once and the setup is mostly done.🙌🏻🎉
That closet of doom was terrifying! I was overwhelmed, and I'm just watching. Lol. You have such a good attitude, and did an amazing job. My only concern about Christmas-specific totes is what happens in 4 months if you downsize by 1 or 2 totes. What will you do with the extra red and black totes then? As I said last time, hang things on walls: photos, paintings, doilies, display shelves with sentimental items...... It will free up boxes and closet space. I look forward to this series!
I have tried many totes.I think clear the best Red would signal Christmas to me however Totes so expensive now.Think totes need to be uniform too Same size.51 years of experience.
I find it easiest to organize my Christmas decor by room. I have a tote with everything I use to decorate my dining room, one for my hall table, one for my family room, etc. That way I can completely finish one room from each tote before I move on to the next.
Such a huge transformation! :O I'm so happy for your grandmother going through this with you. Having all the Christmas decorations in similar boxes works well. It calms the closet so the eye isn't all panicked when everything is in clear boxes, but because only one type of thing goes in those it is easy to sort through. Midwest Magic Cleaning shouted you out so I wanted to check you out :)
Hi! Midwest Magic Cleaning recommended your channel with a shout-out and in ten minutes of this one video, I'm a subscriber. I dream of being organized but it doesn't come naturally to me and then oh my word your daughter!!! I have two daughters but they're teenagers now, and I loved hearing her commentary! So glad MMC sent me to your channel! Have a great week!
Aah,the Beanie Baby fiasco! Someone gave me their collection as a donation to sell at my yard sale. I always do two weekends/ Friday and Saturday, and the second Saturday,EVERYTHING is half price. I priced the Beanie Babies at one dollar each, since I knew that they had lost their inflated value decades ago.I finally sold some on the last day for fifty cents each and most people were buying them for pet toys!😖 Whoever manufactured and marketed those would have made P.T. Barnum blush!🙄
It did a great job, glad you and your grandma are going through the Christmas items again, we seem to collect so much Christmas items and only use half the items.. your baby girl is so cute.. God Bless
One suggestion per experience It is difficult for them to get rid of things but two Christmas ago I put all her hand blown Christmas ornaments on the tree. Everyone took turns including her to take their favorites until all gone. We got her an ornament tree that held twenty that is manageable instead of minimum 150. She really enjoyed watching everyone pick some. Then last Christmas we did it with her jewelry. She enjoyed seeing all the girls pick out stuff and the boys picked also. My son is melting his into a bar. This Christmas will be her collection of Cristal and glassware. My instruction to family was only take if you want to what was left would be donated. But the last two times everything got picked between children grandchildren and great grandchildren. With my other grandma we did that with her quilts. So maybe that may help someone along the way. They really enjoy seeing family take it rather than goodwill. And she enjoyed seeing who picked what. You can go oldest to youngest or draw numbers
Love the different colour totes! It makes it so easy. When we were first married, I had clear totes for sentimental items in the loft, silver totes for Christmas, orange for Fall and purple for Halloween. It made things so easy when I needed to get a box down. Thirty five years later we have so much decor, but I couldn't find any more coloured boxes here in England. So, I have moved everything to clear Really Useful boxes and store them in the garage. I must admit it saves struggling getting them out the loft. Now my youngest daughter has the old coloured totes, using them for the different seasons like I did. Thank you for doing this for your Grandma, she must really appreciate it.
I think all the containers are great! You might not be the one to help your grandma find the boxes when needed, though. And she may not remember the system. So just one suggestion. They make duct tape in a shiny silver color, two inches wide. Get a roll and a sharpie and slap a simple (and easily readable) note just on the front side of each container. I’m dealing with my 90+yo parents not knowing what they have and where. Blatantcy helps somewhat. 👍💃💐
Your daughter Parker is too adorable. I love your idea for red lids for Christmas. I do have one idea is to place all the pillows and other cloth items in storage bags to deflate the air and you can fit more into the containers. I usually place my pillows, tree skirts, santa hats, coasters and anything that I can shrink into a storage bag and it provides extra cushion for the breakables and takes up less space in the container.
I have a feeling once grandma finds out she took everything out of the original boxes she’s going to be pissed. She may not say it, but she’s going to be.
Well done, they only negative I have is that as a 70 year old I love to keep ornaments in their boxes as it protects things. It dismayed me to see you taking them out and throwing them away. I don’t know how your grandma feels but the fact she still had certain ones still in boxes makes me feel she might be the same.
Great job .. grandma is appreciative, I'm sure .. but what about the bunnies or ducks(I think were under the desk).. they could go in the closet in a small bin too... ❤❤
Seasons and Holiday decorations are nice BUT why do we need so much? I know so storage containers can be purchased We are our own enemies because we keep buying and buying . No need for so much give it away. When we die we don't take it with us and no one wants our crap sorry but this is true. Give it away
Exactly what I was thinking, especially the fake flowers, Bennie babies, and books. Those have no value now and will most likely be thrown when grandma passes away. And then buying storage before actually decluttering and making sure everything is gathered up is dumb. Someone said they aren’t actually decluttering Christmas till Christmas time so all this organizing is pointless other than for extra content to post.
Does anyone else have clothes that are too small but hang on to them because they believe one day they will fit again. I think mine have been in the spare room about 5 years 😂 time for it all to go I think
I'm 74. I don't understand all the home decorations. I have 3 teddy bears. A friend had several closets full of seasonal decorations. Near Chicago. Tina, Al's wife

When you get to labels, let me suggest you use 3x5 cards, taped to the inside of the clear bins. That way it doesn’t get brushed off.

Your grandma has the coolest stuff!
Great job …. I always label my boxes … easier to remember … especially if the boxes are not transparent 😂

Me, too. So much easier for me to store the Christmas decorations by the room they'll be used in.

The appearances of your apprentice are always so cute! 😊
My Mother used to use dresser drawers for her sewing fabric.
Awesome job, your daughter is adorable!

❤❤❤ What a lovely idea 😊.
Great job. Looks so nice.
Mack from Midwest Cleaning said one thing he finds in most hoarder houses are Longaberger Baskets. 😂 Now I spot them in most of his videos.

I’m so glad you said you are going to do a Christmas declutter. I can’t believe how much stuff she had. Well done!
I agree. Does she get all that out and decorate?
good job! and your little one is lovely
Parker’s conversation with you! So intelligent❤❤❤love that🎉🎉🎉Nice work on organizing. It’s hard when you know a lot should just go. But in time. ❤❤❤

I love this! Just found your channel and I really enjoyed this series!
Thanks Mack
Parker is so cute. I have to declutter my spare closet. There is stuff in there I don't even look at. LOL Thanks for the inspiration.

The red lid, black totes were perfect for the Christmas stuff, and by using them you cleared a few more clear crates for other things.
Looks so much more organized great job
Oh yeah! That is very nice!
The clear totes were a great idea and it all is so accessible now.
Love this series!! You are so great to help your Grandma!!
You just devalued the basket by throwing the box😮
Yep😢😂
Yes, definitely keep original boxes for collector’s items if possible! 😊
I have a feeling once grandma finds out she took everything out of the original boxes she’s going to be pissed. She may not say it, but she’s going to be.
Huge improvement
I was so hoping to see her baskets and Princess House items put around her bedroom or wherever so that she can enjoy them.😢
Love the red. Parker is hilarious. Gets it from her mom. Lol to the after tote. Real life. Don't I know. 😊
The boxes with the red tops are great for Christmas stuff. Then you dont even have to ask😊
Those paintings/ 70s photos? on top the bookcase are soooo sweet!

Great job .. grandma is appreciative, I'm sure .. but what about the bunnies or ducks(I think were under the desk).. they could go in the closet in a small bin too... ❤❤
You can hang the paintings ?
Glad to see the engagement ring on you! 😍 it is a piece of art worthy of seeing the light and getting some action alongside you🎶🎶
Very nice 😊❤

Also books. I am alittle more stern.
Keep one donate minimum one. It has been a reduction of at least 60%
Great job ❤❤
Great job!
😊
Lol the last box 😂
Lol, I was wondering where you put that box.
I love the realness at the end 😂❤ Great video😊
It looks great, you did an amazing job!!❤❤
Nice job!

👏🏼❤️
Ducks under the sewing machine. 😂

I think the basket company went out of business. Basket people love them!
Your daughter is darling
Why are you going this?
Helping her grandma??
I think she asked because of just changing boxes...they will declutter in November. Can't wait to see it.❤
your mom is busy
Could you not hang up all the pictures and put all the sentimental stuff in the drawers?
