After working this pattern a couple times, I found that a size 5 hook works very well but I only worked 3 rounds on each of the 4 larger squares , & the fit on the box is MUCH better & looks much neater.

Sorry Marian, most of my tutorials are just that, video tutorials, you will find patterns in my web shop, but not for everything I have designed, I just don't have the time!!

Be really, really careful about gauge here, everyone. The pattern is perfect, but I used a smaller hook (3mm) with scrap worsted cotton. The yarn’s thin, so I thought it’d be fine, but I have a lumpy, baggy mess on my hands. It’s still usable (and pretty when not droopy!) so I hope deliberately shrinking it will help, but I’m still sad.
It all depends on your tension and yarn, have you made a square with this yarn before? Because then you would have been able to predict how it was going to react under your tension! This cover does not stand up on its own, as crochet never does, I hope you can make it look decent! Good luck Anja x
