- Are your stitches baggy where you change from one needle to the next? We have a second top tip to help you avoid that unsightly ladder.
The Dave sock pattern (by Rachel Coopey) can be found in Socks Yeah! Volume 1.
Fab Funky Fibres sock yarn can be purchased at www.fabfunkyfi...
Love the physical title cards!
Great tip! I might knit those two or three stitches like that, and then slip them onto the new needle to keep my count the same
Thank you for this. I have not had a problem with laddering between knit stiches, but recently encountered it with the transition between purl stiches on a sock. So frustrating. No matter how tight I pulled in the transition between needles the laddering persisted. I will definitely try this technique next time!
A very useful method when knitting a sleeve too! Some yarns show ladders very easily no matter what. As long as you use a roundmarker you can play with this.
Super tips, presented in a really clear way. Very much appreciated. Thank you.👏👏👏
yet another useful, informative video by Jen A-C. Her videos are clear and they promote confidence. A really good instructor.
Carol Myers Thank you Carol! ☺️
Wowwwww it’s very useful. Thank you very much happy knitting 🧶
Thank you for the very useful tip. I'm knitting my first sick, and I used your technique for the cuff and leg with no problems. But, when I came to the gusset decreases and foot, needle 4 ended up with the number of stitches I knitted onto needle 3 instead of needle 1. Weird
Thank you for this! I have the exact opposite problem, the stitches at my intersections have always been over-tightened because i wanted to avoid the ladder, but this would even out incorrect tension in either direction
thank you!! I'm new to dpns and feel like I can finally return to my project without having to frog again hahaha, very much appreciated
Thanks for this. I will give this a try, it's getting so frustrating getting these ladders x
Amy Leluan I hope it helps! 🤞
Thanks for the tips! Is there a way to 'fix' this when you're already a bunch into your knitting for previous rows? And what about knitting k1, p1 and you need to start your new needle with a purl stitch?
Great idea! This is similar to a method I came up with. Question: does this change the beginning of the row, or do you just slip the marker and continue on? I’ve only done one pair of socks. Thanks!
You just need to keep a stitch marker to show the end of the round. I hope that helps.
