My new favorite is the tab section! I have a bunch of labels with stars in front of them to try and keep them at the top, lol! So good to know I can stop that habit now.
The TAB!! Wow, I wish Yahoo did this!! I have too many email accounts because my emails are out of control. The tabs alone make me think I can actually start consolidating them!!
I use the Tracking the most but there is an entire suite of extensions from Cloud HQ (as Scott mentioned). My favorites are the "Renaming Email," the "Scheduling Email," the "Save to PDF/Google Drive," and the Gmail Notes. Also, these will also work in the Opera Browser, too.
Just tried and liked all three. I was just remembering an old Mac OS8 (I think) app that would let you store a number of texts so you could evoke one when needed. Tabs seems cool, and tracking will become indispensable, I'm sure but Snippets promises to be my first choice in terms of current usefulness. Many thanks for a super-informative video!
Snippets are great for having to rewrite the same line over and over again. You can also try Email templates and save that as well. Look at "recent templates" in point #7: support.cloudhq.net/how-to-setup-email-templates-in-gmail/
First, the free e-mail tracker will be great to find out when people or companies opened the contracts that I have sent to them. I just installed it. I also installed the G-Mail new tabs tracker, so that I can keep track of messages and delete the junk more easily. I receive at least 150 messages daily, and this will obviously free up some of my time. Thanks very much for a wonderful video.
For those that don't like the Cloud HQ tag that gets added to outgoing emails, there is another extension called "Footinator" that will remove the tag.
Hey Ryan! Thank you for being such a fan! You can also just: 1) highlight the tag and manually delete it, or 2) upgrade for a really low monthly price where the tag will be removed, and you'll also get the ability to send your emails to SMS text numbers, and export your tracking information into a CSV file for better follow up: www.cloudhq.net/g_suite/pricing?product_what=gmail_mail_tracker&cycle=M The major point we want to drive home is: We don't know who Footinator is, and not sure if they're collecting data with regards to privacy or security, so please be careful.
That's a very good question, Gary. Most 3rd party apps do require a great deal of access to perform properly. I recommend that you read their privacy policies before making the best decision for yourself.

Hi, I am looking for a simple Gmail Extension that I can put in information from my customer’s and shows it in every email I open from that customer. Thank you
Just in case someone else stumbles across this. If the category has a space in it, Follow Up, then the tab appears as "Follow+Up" and will not have any messages. I removed the + sign from the "Label name for this tab" and all the messages appear
Great video as I tend to spend way too much time in Gmail. Do you see an advantage to Gmail Snippets over a standard text expander? I went ahead and installed Snippets but thought I'd also ask the expert.
The one advantage that I like a lot about Snippets is that it gives you a preview of the phrases you've created. I also like that I don't have to remember a bunch of shortcuts, but can just focus on the backslash. But of course, this particular add-on will only function in Gmail and not other places.
I have 2 questions 1) Will a snippit shortcut embedded within signature trigger? 2) If the recipient of the tracking-ed email forwards to a 3rd party, does there exist the possibility of further "message read" notifications?
@@Simpletivity Well I'm still kind of in the dark ages with signatures as I think about it I know a lot of folks use embedded images, I still use a preset block of text That Gmail will let you set for each individual mailbox. I'm wondering if, in that block of text, You could include the snip it/shortcut to automatically include *today's date* for lack of a better example. It's probably a trivial thought in the 1st place, but as a dyed in-the-wool recipe maker such functionality is kind of the core of my thought processes
@@Mr.Beauregarde Thanks for the clarification. No, I do not believe that this would work with this extension. It is designed specifically for the body of the message.

Scott Friesen I need something for my email that really shows me when an email I have sent and a person has responded with additional information back to me. Gmail doesn't do the best job showing that step. They just have a number by the subject, which is terrible. Sometimes I have back & forths totalling 15 communications. Thanks! I like the Gmail Tabs. Were it not for the extrension, ProKeys, which does snipits, I would go for the second extension as well. I do not care for the third extension. However, I would like to ask a question: Do you have a solution for downloading LinkedIn data and being able to include the email addresses? If not, do you have a cost-effective solution for getting email into the spreadsheets of LinkedIn CSV downloads?
I have a question… When I tried to use the email signature program from cloud HQ there was a disclaimer that stated they could erase my emails and some other items. Is this the case because I do like their products but I’m concerned on giving them control over my Gmail account.
Hi SoCal, yes, we need to read and write emails to change the Gmail user experience. If you're worried, please rest assured that we have over 5M clients and have strict privacy and security policies: cloudhq.net/privacy and cloudhq.net/security
I like the idea of the Gmail Tracker but won’t install it because Cloud HQ wants complete access to my Gmail account. Can you address the efficacy of giving them so much authority? Why am I wrong in thinking the risks outweigh the advantages for most people. RSVP here or in a video.
This really comes down to what the extension is needing to do. i.e. if you want the tool to be able to schedule emails, send automatic replies, etc, then you will need to give them access to the account. It really comes down to personal preference and comfort with giving this level of access.
